Chapter 1019: Martin and Harold in action
Wilderness (5th Zone)
Boom!
The Tier-9 Earth Lizard was slowly marching forward toward the border. None of the elemental attacks had made a dent on its body.
Earlier, the Head of the Beast Taming Association had tried to stop the beast using his lifeline beast. Yet, the thorny vines were not strong enough.
They couldn’t handle the strength of the beast. Their sharp thorns broke under the pressure.
"Governor Martin, you have to do something," one of the governors said from the side.
Harold was also waiting for orders. Everyone had tried their luck. Now it was up to them.
Martin furrowed his eyebrows. His gaze swept across the Beast Tamers there. He knew who had sent their lifeline beasts to attack the Tier-9 Lizard.
Except for a few Beast Tamers who recalled their lifeline beasts due to weak defense, none of them had withheld their attacks.
He then looked toward the Dean of Central University 5 and said, "You should check whether your beast’s fangs can penetrate its skin."
Hearing that, the Dean of Central University 5 laughed. He was also holding back, waiting for the right opportunity.
Now he had the right opportunity, and he was going to use it.
Boom!
A massive creature landed on the ground next to him. The beast’s head was over 5 meters wide, and its length was above 40 meters.
Hiss!
It was a Tier-8 venomous Green Viper. Under the command of the Beast Tamer, the viper slithered forward quickly in a zigzag manner.
Soon, the snake beast reached its target.
The lizard beast felt threatened. It once again swung its long tail, ready for another sand whirlpool attack.
Swoosh!
The Green Viper was extremely fast. It avoided a frontal confrontation and moved to the flank. Compared to the massive body of the lizard, the viper was small.
Under the gaze of everyone, the Green Viper attacked. Its two massive venom fangs came into contact with the hard skin.
Only the tiny tips of the fangs penetrated inside. The fangs met hard resistance, unable to inject the venom.
For that, the fangs needed to go a little deeper.
Roar!
The Lizard Beast grew furious. It abruptly moved its massive body and swept its tail against the Green Viper.
Boom!
The sand whirlpool attack was not fully charged, yet the lizard beast released it anyway. The Green Viper was struck by the incomplete attack.
Hiss!
The sand attack tore through skin and flesh, leaving the Green Viper hissing in pain.
The Dean of Central University 5 felt the backlash as well. Feeling the beast’s pain, he immediately recalled it back to his mental zone.
Boom!
The Green Viper disappeared from the spot. Seeing that, the Lizard Beast became even more agitated and increased its speed toward the border.
Pfff!
The next second, the Dean of Central University 5 coughed up blood.
Everyone knew the reality: a Tier-9 threat could only be dealt with by a Tier-9 Beast Tamer. Only their attacks could leave injuries on the body of the Tier-9 beast.
"After all, we are just Tier-8 Beast Tamers," the Head of the Beast Taming Association said.
Boom!
Next, City Governor Martin released his lifeline beast.
A massive flame lion over 6 meters in height and 10 meters in body length appeared. The blazing crimson flames on its tail reached up to 4 meters in length.
Roar!
The massive lion beast let out a furious roar that shook the area. In the next second, the surrounding temperature shot up.
Everyone felt the terrifying heat. The other Beast Tamers, affected by it, backed away, including the Governors, the Head of the Beast Taming Association, and the Dean of Central University.
Swoosh!
Everyone moved backward except one person: Head Harold, whose lifeline beast also possessed the power of flames.
"Let’s combine both of our beasts’ flame attacks," Martin said to Head Harold.
Boom!
A massive four-legged beast appeared next to him, standing firmly on its feet.
The Red-Brown Bear was over 6 meters in height, similar in size to the flame lion. But if the bear beast stood up on its hind legs, it would be twice the size of the lion.
Roar!
The Red-Brown Bear saw the Tier-9 Lizard and let out a furious roar. It knew it was the enemy.
Head Harold and City Governor Martin looked at each other and gave the command.
Roar! Roar!
Both beasts released furious roars one after another and charged forward. The surrounding temperature rose even higher.
The dry trees and vegetation caught fire and burned intensely. The temperature was so high that it made everyone uncomfortable.
This was one of the reasons why they rarely summoned their beasts outside. If not for an actual fight, they wouldn’t let their lifeline beasts out.
They were literally walking destruction due to their flame power.
Not only were the Beast Tamers feeling uncomfortable, but their lifeline beasts also felt scorched by the intense heat.
Swoosh!
Feeling their pain, the family heads recalled their lifeline beasts back to their mental zones.
Boom!
The Red-Brown Bear and the Flame Lion unleashed their abilities, both opening their mouths wide.
A dazzling red fireball manifested in the mouth of the Flame Lion.
Similarly, an orange fireball formed in the mouth of the Red-Brown Bear. Both were flames, but possessed different attributes.
Yet, both could burn their enemies to ashes.
Boom!
Under the gaze of City Governor Martin and Head Harold, both lifeline beasts released their attacks.
Boom! Boom!
The two of them released their flame attacks at the same time.
One bright red beam and one bright orange beam surged forward, tearing through the air in a straight line.
Their path erupted in flames. The surrounding vegetation was scorched by the fiery beams, and the trees caught fire, reduced to ashes.
Both beams left behind a trail of ashes. The scene is causing chills to others.
The faces of the rest of the Beast Tamers changed. They, too, felt the heat. They could not believe both creatures were only Tier-8 Lifeline Beasts.
