Chapter 1020: Rescuing Those in Need
Wilderness (5th Zone)
Jeremy Night was now moving towards the inner area. He had changed his plan. He previously had the idea of investigating the core area.
But the idea turned out to be deadly. Not once, but twice. Earlier, it was a Tier-8 Eagle Beast. Then it was a Beast Horde of Tier-7 Beasts.
Both battles were affected by external factors.
From time to time, he looked towards the border. The loud booming noise had become frequent now. He could tell that a fight was taking place.
He shook his head and collected his thoughts. There were some minor injuries on his body; the two powerful shock forces had impacted him.
He needed a safe place to recover. But that safe place was definitely not the core area. He used "Feathered Steps" to reach his destination faster.
One hour later,
He entered the inner area from the core area. It didn’t take long for him to come across fellow Beast Tamers.
But they were all heading back towards the outer area. His eyes flickered. He thought they might be going back to the city.
He decided to have a conversation with them. He wanted to know what had happened to the mid-tier beasts.
He hadn’t come across them in the core area; he had only seen Tier-6, Tier-7, and Tier-8 beasts. He wondered whether the mid-tier beasts were totally wiped out.
His arrival alerted them. When he got closer, he saw their uniforms and recognized them. They were Beast Tamers from Central University 5.
They were all Tier-5 Beast Tamers, probably final-year students.
"Hello, seniors. I want to know, what happened?"
"Were all the mid-tier beasts wiped out?" Jeremy asked them.
It was a five-member group with three male and two female Beast Tamers. Everyone stood stunned at first. They didn’t know where this Tier-4 Beast Tamer had come from.
They had heard only volunteers were allowed and even then, only Tier-5 and above Beast Tamers could enter the wilderness.
"Who are you?"
"How did you enter the wilderness?" a black-haired Beast Tamer asked.
"I’m Jeremy Night. I could enter because I can kill Tier-5 Corrupted Beasts," he replied straightforwardly.
Hearing that, the Beast Tamers were stunned. Since they were from Central University, the name rang a bell.
One of them recalled the information, and his face brightened.
"So you are that famous junior from the Red Moon Chamber?" he asked.
"Yes," Jeremy said to the person.
The others didn’t know what was going on, so the person explained to them.
"He is the young man who fought against Tier-5 Beasts despite being a Tier-3 Beast Tamer during the previous Beast Invasion."
Hearing that, everyone recalled the news.
"You seem to be a Tier-4 Beast Tamer now. Can you fight against Tier-6 Beasts?" the person jokingly asked.
"Each increase in tier brings a massive leap in strength. Most higher-tier beasts have abilities. It’s not easy to fight them," Jeremy downplayed.
"Senior, can you tell me what’s going on?" Jeremy added.
Hearing that, the person collected his thoughts. His face turned serious.
"We almost forgot. We got news that a Tier-9 Beast is approaching the border. We were told to return to the city," the person said.
Jeremy Night’s eyes turned serious. The worst-case scenario had indeed happened. He was not imagining it. Those noises were actually from a Tier-9 Corrupted Beast.
The other members had serious expressions. They didn’t know what was going on at the border.
They needed to go back to the city quickly to see their families and friends.
Jeremy Night collected his thoughts as well. He was worried about Sister Melinda and the others, but he knew Sister Melinda received fast updates.
She might have already heard about the situation.
"Okay, junior. We are going back. Are you coming with us?" the person asked.
Hearing that, Jeremy smiled and said, "You guys can leave. I’m going to look for my members."
"Be careful. There could be a sudden beast horde. We just escaped from one," the person said.
"The appearance of the Tier-9 Beast has worsened the situation further, so don’t take risks," he added.
Jeremy nodded to him. He then watched them leave.
He then resumed his journey. At first, he thought about leaving, but then he figured there might be people who needed his help.
He decided to search the inner area, hoping that higher-tier beasts wouldn’t appear in this area.
Swoosh!
He used Feathered Steps to travel. While moving, he used his eye power to scan the surroundings.
15 minutes later,
He encountered another group of Beast Tamers. But this time, the group was surrounded by Tier-5 Hybrid Hyenas.
He saw some of them injured and bleeding. He spotted a Wild Deer Lifeline Beast with an injured leg. It was confronting three bloodthirsty hyenas alone.
His eyes gleamed with interest. He knew that Deer-type beasts were usually contracted by those with healing talents.
His gaze then fell on a female Tier-5 Beast Tamer. She was lying unconscious on the ground, so her lifeline beast was protecting her.
Similarly, the other four Beast Tamers were not in good shape. It appeared they were surrounded by a group of hyenas on their way back.
Jeremy finished assessing the situation; the group needed his help. He took out the handgun from its case and covered the bullets in starlight threads.
One after another, the bullets were wrapped in powerful starlight threads. Earlier, he hadn’t used his starlight power to kill Tier-5 beasts.
But lately, he had been coming across weird beasts more often, especially mid-tier beasts that were not native to the wilderness.
They were more violent and unpredictable. He thought the striped hyenas were from the outside and had entered the wilderness due to improved beast power.
He then took aim using his eye power. His vision locked onto the hyenas’ heads. Next, he pulled the trigger.
Bang! Bang!
He fired the starlight bullets one after another.
Puchak!
The bullets streaked across in a straight line before puncturing the hyenas’ heads one by one.
