Chapter 998: Beast Powder
5th Zone, City-A
Jeremy Night returned to the city, but the morning sunlight had already touched the city. He caught a cab and went back to the hotel.
20 minutes later,
He was in his hotel room. He took his device and tried to call Elder John, but there was too much interference. He couldn’t reach him.
The only person who could reach Elder John was Head Harold. He then made a call to Head Harold instead, but the call wasn’t connecting at all. He was frustrated.
He then looked at his device. Next, he began to type a long message, mixing some lies with the truth. His goal was to expose the Darkshade Organization behind the beast invasion incident.
He then went to the bathroom.
After getting refreshed, he went to bed to sleep. He lay down on the bed and fell asleep, forgetting about the noise outside.

Meanwhile,
Jeremy Night’s parents were still under care. They wouldn’t leave until they were fully cured. Not only were they injured, but their Lifeline beasts had also suffered injuries.
In fact, their Lifeline beasts suffered the most injuries, so they needed to take care of them as well. Even in this situation, they were mostly worried about their son.
Knowing that their son was staying in the city, they were relieved.

The two injured Beast Tamers didn’t go back to their hideout. They continued to hide while treating their injuries, wanting to recover some energy.

Head Harold was in his office, and Melinda was sitting before him. At that moment, Harold was reading the message on Melinda’s device. It was the message sent to her by Jeremy Night.
Melinda had a grim expression; she was actually scared because she hadn’t expected Jeremy Night to find out the truth.
She didn’t know whether it was true or not, so she watched Head Harold’s expression closely.
"So he went to the wilderness last night," Harold said with a sigh.
He then raised his head and gave the device back to her.
He said, "The kid is young, but he is not new to trouble. The things he said must be true. If someone is using the beast powder to draw the corrupted beasts to the wilderness, then this matter needs to be taken seriously."
"I’m going to see the City Governors. If the kid comes here, tell him to relax. We will solve the problem soon," Harold added.
Melinda sighed in relief. She had thought Jeremy Night would be reprimanded, but nothing like that had happened.
She then left the office and went back to her room. Once she reached her room, she texted Jeremy Night. She told him that Head Harold believed him and that there was no need to worry.
She waited, but there was no reply. She thought he must be resting, so she didn’t disturb him further.

Wilderness (Unknown Land)
In the hideout, the Darkshade members were holding a discussion. Four members had completed their job, including the team leader, but there was no sign of the other two members.
It had been an entire night since they left the hideout. Their job was to place the beast powder, yet they hadn’t returned.
The team discussed whether something had happened to them. Not all of the corrupted beasts had died, so it was possible for the two members to have encountered deadly corrupted beasts.
They were Tier-5 Beast Tamers, so the leader didn’t think much of it. Since the other four members had completed the task, all they had to do next was wait for the beast powder to work.
They had completed the task given by the higher-ups, so they could leave for the city immediately. If they continued to stay there, they would be affected by the beast tide.
The higher-tier beasts could sense the presence of Beast Tamers in the hideout, and they would destroy the hideout if anyone remained inside.
Swoosh!
The Darkshade members then left the hideout, heading back to the city.

City Lord’s Office
Head Harold’s words brought shock to the City Governors. The three City Governors had great respect for Head Harold, so they took his words seriously.
"How did you find out?" City Governor Martin asked.
Head Harold didn’t want to expose Jeremy Night’s name; he didn’t want the enemy to know about him.
"I went there to investigate earlier and came across their conversations," Harold replied.
Hearing that, the Governors didn’t say anything further; they believed his words.
Martin said, "If the matter is true, then the other members might have placed the newly improved beast powder. It hasn’t been used before, so even higher-tier beasts will be attracted."
"We will be facing a dangerous situation," Martin added.
The remaining two Governors had the same thought. Both of them were newly appointed Governors, while Martin was the only veteran.
Martin then decided to head to the wilderness with the others. Head Harold agreed to tag along; since he had told them about the hideout, he needed to point out the location.
Swoosh!
The Governors and Head Harold left for the wilderness. They didn’t plan on sharing the news with anyone else.

Hotel Room
Jeremy woke up from his sleep. After getting out of bed, he recalled the events, and his expression turned serious. Then, his gaze fell on the device.
He took the device and checked the inbox. He saw the text message from Sister Melinda. He opened the message and read it, understanding that Head Harold had accepted the message.
He had gone to the Governors to inform them.
A hint of relief appeared in Jeremy’s eyes; his efforts hadn’t gone to waste. He was glad that he was able to contribute, but he was worried about what would follow next.
He knew that there were four other Darkshade members who might have completed the task. They could have placed the beast powder successfully.
He hoped that the Governors would solve the problem.
Jeremy next collected his thoughts. He then started doing his morning routine. The morning routine lasted for one hour. Then he decided to go outside to find a training facility.
The hotel room didn’t have one. So, he went to the bath next. He spent 20 minutes in the bath. Next, he walked out and changed into comfortable clothes.
10 minutes later,
After getting ready, he left the room. First, he approached the cab driver. He told him to drop him at the hospital. The cab driver agreed.
The cab departed from the place. It didn’t take long for the cab to reach the hospital. The cab stopped in front of the hospital.
He stepped out and paid the fare to the driver. The next second, he rushed inside. He went to the next floor to meet his parents.
He arrived in front of the hospital room. He opened the door and walked inside. He saw both of his parents were awake.
They were chatting with each other. His arrival drew their attention.
"Jeremy"
Both of them called out his name. Next, Jeremy Night spent time with his parents. Their conversation lasted for one hour.
Then he told his parents that he would meet them at noon. He was going to look for the training facility.
Ron and Nora agreed.
Next, he left the room. Soon, he left the hospital. He found another cab and left for the training facility in that cab.
He knew most of the places here. He had spent considerable time in the 5th zone as well.
20 minutes later,
The cab landed in front of the training facility. The training facility was the least popular because it was the most expensive. It had a practice room similar to that of any top organization.
Jeremy then paid the fare to the driver. He went inside the facility. He came to the admin desk. He inquired about the price range.
He then booked a practice room for four hours. He thought it was enough for him and the lifeline beast. It had been some time since he reached Tier-3, 9th rank - Early Stage.
He hoped to reach the next stage as well. Jeremy went to the practice room next. After reaching the room, he opened the door and went inside.
He closed the door and moved towards the console. He turned on the switch. The natural energy began to spread in the room. The natural energy coming from the inlet was pure, rich mist.
Jeremy came to the middle of the room and sat cross-legged on the ground. He felt relaxed. Then he closed his eyes and began to use the inner healing method.
The natural energy entered his body. He began to guide the natural energy across his body. As the energy traveled through his body, the hungry cells activated.
They began to absorb the natural energy. Seeing that, Jeremy calmed down his heart. He focused on repeating the process.
As time passed, the unknown beast egg began to react.
Buzz!
The unknown beast egg inside the mental zone activated.
The natural energy appeared above the unknown beast egg like a funnel. The energy disappeared into the egg.
