Chapter 982: Locating the Worm King
Wilderness
Lord Sabina is using her talent as well as the help of her lifeline beast to locate the Tier-9 Worm King. The elders are following her from behind.
They have come to the deeper area of the wilderness. Sabina is flying at a low altitude along with the others.
If they move on the ground surface, they will be sensed by the worm beast easily.
On the way, they come across returning Beast Taming Teams. Among the group, some are seriously injured.
One of the elders takes the seriously injured back to the base, while the rest are urged by the elders to hasten their pace. The wilderness is not safe anymore.
The Beast Tamers are curious about the middle-aged woman leading them. They have no idea that the middle-aged woman is a Tier-9 Beast Tamer.
It has been an hour since they entered the wilderness, but she hasn’t found anything yet. Still, Sabina hasn’t given up. She has seen those students as well.
Their injuries were real. Some of their bodies are covered in mucus, which shows that they have come into contact with the slippery worm beast.
The elders are following her. They are afraid to speak up so as not to disturb her.
Soon, Sabina finds something. There is a higher-tier worm beast hiding underground. She doesn’t tell the elder because she finds the size of the beast is smaller than a Tier-9 Beast.
Her lifeline beast gives confirmation as well. She thinks it must be a Tier-8 Beast, so she ignores it.
Her goal is to locate the Tier-9 Worm King. If she alerts the elders, they will fight against the Tier-8 Beast, which will ruin her plan.
As time passes, they go further into the wilderness. Sabina finds some clues, but she gets no solid evidence.
It is her lifeline beast that senses the Tier-9 Worm Beast, but it is taking her outside the boundary.
They exit the actual boundary of the wilderness, which was drawn by the elders of the base.
Seeing that Lord Sabina has actually exited the marked boundary, the elders start to worry.
On the way, they come across corrupted beasts, but they purposely avoid them to track the Tier-9 Worm King.
Right now, the elders look at each other. They want to know what Lord Sabina is doing. If they go beyond the marked boundary, they might come across other Tier-9 Beasts.
"Lord, we have left the marked boundary," one of the elders says.
Elder Carter is among them as well, and he is genuinely worried.
The other elders raise questions one after another.
"Lord, we might disturb another Tier-9 Beast," Carter says in a solemn tone.
Sabina hears everyone’s words and raises her eyebrows.
"Do you think a Tier-9 Beast will stay near your base?" Sabina asks back.
Hearing that, the others are shocked. They can’t refute her words; they know the Tier-9 Worm Beast is cunning.
Sabina sees through their thoughts.
She says, "The Tier-9 Beast’s body is huge. The unknown land is an ideal place for the beast to hide. So far, I haven’t found traces of the Tier-9 beast inside the marked boundary."
Hearing that, the elders look at each other. They aren’t fully convinced because Lord Sabina hasn’t checked all four directions.
She is going deeper in one particular direction. They think Lord Sabina is hiding news from them.
Not long after going into the unknown land, Sabina’s lifeline beast locates the Tier-9 Worm King.
Sabina is shocked. She had only found traces using her talent, but her lifeline beast located it exactly.
She stops in her tracks, raises her head, and looks ahead. There is a 100ft hill located ahead of them. Her eyes flash with surprise.
She understands why it was hard for others to find the Tier-9 Worm King.
"So it’s hiding underground beneath the hill," she says to herself.
The elders behind her stop in place as well, looking at Lord Sabina. They see her looking toward the hill ahead.
Carter and the others want to ask questions, but they wait for Lord Sabina to speak first.
Sabina communicates with her lifeline beast.
She wants to know whether the Tier-9 Worm King is injured or not, but her lifeline beast doesn’t probe further, as doing so would alert the Tier-9 beast.
Sabina then makes a decision. She doesn’t want to stay here any longer.
"Let’s go back to the base. Don’t stop anywhere along the way," Sabina says to them in a serious tone.
She doesn’t want them to land on the ground. If they land, their presence will be felt by the Tier-9 Worm King.
The elders hear her command. Carter wants to know what’s going on, but Lord Sabina gives them a cold look that frightens them.
Next, they start following her back to the base.
On the way, they come across many corrupted beasts, but they quickly change direction and avoid them.
The elders are confused because they have literally spotted a Tier-8 Worm Beast above the earth’s surface.
They want to kill the worm beast, but Sabina warns them against it. The elders are frightened, so they obediently follow her.
Soon, they return to the boundary. Only then do the elders sigh in relief. Sabina carefully monitors them as they fly low.
She doesn’t want the elders to spoil the plan. She understands why the Tier-9 Worm King was not easily found.
She thinks the Tier-8 Worm Beast appearing above the surface was done for a reason, it might be part of the Tier-9 Beast’s plan.
They return to the special base premises and head to the meeting hall. Lord Declan, Sandra, and other elders are waiting there.
Lord Sabina enters the hall along with the elders.
She goes to the main chair and sits down with a serious expression. Declan is eager to know the details.
The elders stand next to the other elders, looking at one another.
Elder John is among them as well. He wants to know whether they have found the Tier-9 Worm King Beast or not.
