Chapter 721 - 389: Long Time No See
Here, city districts were separated by a vast wilderness, teeming with innumerable Mutants. Yang An was now truly experiencing the trouble these Mutants caused.
If he hadn’t been able to travel back and forth between Broken Armor and the 6th Floor, getting this far would have been immensely difficult.
Yang An finally breathed a sigh of relief after confirming it was indeed a massive city.
His current position was already deep within Broken Armor. Extrapolating from the city’s location, he figured there was a high probability that this city was the site of Sansong Mountain, where Pan Yu was located.
After so much hardship, he had finally reached this point. Despite his exhaustion, Yang An instantly felt re-energized.
He covered the final distance without incident. Yang An smoothly arrived at the edge of the city and looked at the tall walls before him. The tops of the walls were covered with barbed wire and glass shards; it was unclear whether this was to prevent Mutants from getting in or to keep the city’s ordinary residents from getting out.

The wall, no matter how high, couldn’t stop Yang An. However, he could still see old surveillance cameras in many spots, and he had no idea if they were still active.
Yang An quickly found a blind spot. In a few bounds, he scaled the wall and slipped into the city without a sound.
’If I’m not mistaken, the city’s Cultivators will discover me soon,’ he thought. ’I need to find Pan Yu as quickly as possible.’
Once inside the city, Yang An immediately concealed himself in the shadows, his mind replaying past scenes.
During his first trip to Sansong Mountain, he had entered the Illusion Realm where Pan Yu had been trapped by her Cultivation Technique.
’If Pan Yu is in Broken Armor right now, then maybe the Illusion Realm she’s in will also appear on the 6th Floor, thanks to the connection between the two realms.’
’So, my best bet is to search on the 6th Floor first. If I really can’t find her, I’ll come back to Broken Armor.’
He remembered that the entrance to Pan Yu’s Illusion Realm had appeared in an area with old residential buildings. Pan Yu herself had been in a room in one of those buildings.
He carefully recalled the image of the old residential buildings. As the outlines grew clearer in his memory, Yang An began to race through the city, searching everywhere.
Although it was late, the city was still ablaze with lights. Plenty of cars and pedestrians were still on the streets. These people lived their lives completely oblivious to the dangers of their world.
Yang An moved like the wind, scouting every corner. He soon found an old residential area, but after comparing it to his memory, he shook his head. ’This isn’t it.’
Ten minutes later, Yang An arrived at another residential complex, but he was gone again in seconds.
An hour later, Yang An had already searched several residential complexes, but none matched the old buildings from his memory.
Two hours later, Yang An had searched half the city. It was just too big. Having forced himself to stay alert, he now felt a profound exhaustion. All he wanted at that moment was to find a place to sleep.
He crossed from the east side of the city to the west, gliding over a river that cut through its center. No one would notice him here. Yang An’s form was like a bird skimming the water’s surface.
Upon entering the western district, he resumed his search without a moment’s rest.
Occasionally, he would pass over a high point, trying to get a view of the distant landscape, but in the dim night, he could only make out the outlines of lighted areas.
Before he knew it, Yang An suddenly sensed that someone was tailing him, closely matching his pace.
’Just as I thought,’ he mused. ’The city’s Cultivators have found me after all.’
"He changed direction. He’s heading south."
Trailing him were three Cultivators dressed in black infiltration gear. A woman’s voice suddenly came through their earpieces.
"He’s spotted us."
The lead Cultivator frowned, instantly certain of it.
"Since he’s spotted us, let’s just capture him."
"But we still don’t know if he’s a Mutant..."
"I don’t care if he’s a Mutant. Capture him first, ask questions later. Once we have him, it doesn’t matter where he’s from. Anyone who dares enter City No. 7 isn’t getting out easily."
Having received their orders, one of the other two Cultivators immediately threw something out from within his clothes. It was a pair of severed hands, blood still dripping from the stumps.
The three Cultivators grabbed hold of one another. The hands landed on one of them, and the dripping blood formed into tendrils that burrowed into his body. The severed hands swelled rapidly, becoming enormous in the blink of an eye, resembling a pair of wings.
Aided by the pair of severed hands, the trio’s speed exploded, and they shot off in pursuit of Yang An.
But as they followed the directions from their earpieces, they suddenly realized that Yang An had vanished without a trace.
"What’s going on?"
"I can’t find him! He vanished!"
"Deploy all nearby detectors immediately. We have to find him."
The three were dumbfounded, unable to comprehend how a grown man could just disappear so bizarrely.
Meanwhile, Yang An had already returned to Broken Armor.
He didn’t have time to play cat and mouse with them, so he had simply returned to Broken Armor.
The depths of Broken Armor were still shrouded in cataclysmic disaster, steeped in a darkness so thick you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face.
Some blood still stained White Feather. The moment he returned to Broken Armor, Yang An activated the Lighting Technique, its flame illuminating his surroundings.
