Chapter 48:The fall of the duke family 1
Today was truly a great day for Ronan.
He even whistled as he admired the beauty of the Duke’s Mansion. The large courtyard was filled with beautiful flowers, some of which Ronan took note of. He planned to add them to his own courtyard in the future.
Ronan also sought out a few maids who weren’t bad-looking and spoke with them for a while.
His face, combined with his voice, made things far easier than they had ever been.
Ronan was picking girls left and right and seemingly leaving them completely captivated—at least, that was what he thought.
The entire Duke’s Mansion had been shaken.
The Maiden could talk.
And she had started talking.
But worse...
Another rumor was beginning to spread.
It seemed the Maiden swung ’that way’, considering how easily she made the beautiful maids blush.
Meanwhile, they had no idea that Ronan had been suffering.
All these days without being able to speak had been killing him.
But now that he could finally talk, he was going all out.
The thing Ronan was happiest about, however, was that he had managed to clean up yesterday’s mess by sacrificing a few dresses.
It had been worth it.
His breakthrough to the six-star Transcendent Realm had made his speed several times faster, allowing him to safely dispose of the clothes without being discovered.
Ronan finally decided to return to his room when he encountered Bama.
Only this time...
Bama looked devastated.
His fists were clenched, his head lowered.
Ronan was shocked.
What could have gone wrong?
"Are... you okay?"
Just as they got closer and Bama was about to force a fake smile, Ronan spoke first.
For a moment, Bama’s mouth hung open.
Don’t tell me...
The Maiden actually spoke to him?
Wait.
She could speak?
Bama was stunned.
Then excitement immediately followed as Selak’s words echoed in his ears.
As it turned out, Sir Selak had been right.
Being slow and steady really was the way to go.
He had finally gotten through to her.
And she had actually spoken to him.
She seemed to have become even more beautiful, and more than that...
Her voice was so lovely.
He wished he could keep listening to it forever.
Ronan stared at Bama, who seemed completely lost in a trance, drool almost falling from the corner of his mouth.
Ronan’s face twitched.
Forget it.
Let’s just go back to the room.
"Maiden..."
Just then, Bama called out and snapped out of his trance.
His mood immediately became gloomy again.
More than that, he seemed restless.
He clearly wanted to talk about something, but he kept hesitating, as though he couldn’t decide whether he should say it.
Ronan frowned.
After all, from the few moments he’d spent with Bama, the kid had always been jovial and confident, someone who usually got what he wanted.
So whatever was bothering him had to be serious.
But what was it?
Ronan hadn’t seen Bama for nearly a week.
Could the two things be related?
Had he been scolded?
"...News just reached my father from the war front."
Bama’s voice trembled slightly.
"My brother..."
"Tayin..."
"He’s dead."
*******
Elsewhere ....
"Duke... you came."
At this moment, two figures floated high in the sky.
One was the Duke.
The other was a five-headed Javo.
Below them stretched a vast, dark forest.
The Javo’s territory.
"Which one of you killed my son?"
The Duke spoke calmly, his eyes filled with restrained fury.
"Bring them all out."
Although he was furious and had nearly overturned the capital when he first heard the news, he still understood the bigger picture.
And that was because the Duke didn’t know that the Royal Family had deliberately sent his son to his death.
If he knew the truth...
Things might have been very different.
But regardless of the circumstances, every Javo involved in his son’s death would be killed and buried alongside him.
"Chi, chi, chi..."
The Javo laughed.
"What if I told you..."
"It was all of us?"
At this moment, the five-headed Javo, a Supreme Realm expert, looked at the Duke with a faint smile.
The Duke took a deep breath.
The wind swept across the Conjol region.
Then the Duke spoke calmly.
"Then there is no reason for the Javo race to exist anymore."

Destal Kingdom — Capital
Royal Mansion**
The King sat in a private room with the Pope, a smile on his face.
"I just received news from the war front."
"Tayin is dead."
The King spoke calmly.
Hearing this, the Pope showed a surprised expression.
He actually knew about the King’s plan.
But what he couldn’t understand was why Tayin had willingly walked into his death.
That part puzzled him.
He had initially assumed that once Tayin realized even the Grand General wasn’t on his side, he would try to break out of the situation.
Then the Grand General would suppress him and have him imprisoned before eventually executing him in the capital for disobeying a direct military order and attacking a high-ranking military officer.
Such an outcome could then be pinned on the Duke Family, giving the Royal Family an even greater advantage.
Or he could have pretended to obey the order, then returned to the capital to inform his father. That alone could have been considered disloyalty and abandonment of his team, meaning treason against the Destal Kingdom. Once again, that could have been used against the Duke Family.
But who would have thought he would actually go along with it?
It seemed the kid wasn’t all that stupid.
However, this didn’t mean the Royal Family wouldn’t attack the Duke Family from another angle.
"And the Duke has left the capital to demand an explanation from the Javo race. Knowing him, he will break the agreement in rage. This is the perfect opportunity for us to move and take them down once and for all."
The King spoke with a cold glint in his eyes.
"Your plan actually worked."
The Pope spoke, still somewhat shocked.
He wasn’t particularly well-versed in political schemes, which was precisely why he was a Pope rather than a noble.
"Yes, it did."
The King nodded.
"But before we do anything, I want to know something. Will the Church help us take down the Duke Family when the time comes?"
"After all, the Duke Family isn’t a weak force. If the Royal Family had to fight them alone, the Destal Kingdom would be as good as dead."
The King spoke as the Pope smiled.
"Be rest assured. You have accepted the Church and the God of Wealth into the Destal Kingdom. You are now my Lord’s servant."
"He will send help."
"With the Duke breaking the agreement with the Javo race, he has doomed his own family. The Church now has the right to intervene."
"Even if he pleads with those on the Central Continent, it will be of no use."
The Pope explained.
The King laughed.
"Thank you. And thank the Gods for their benevolence."
The two men exchanged smiles before laughing softly.
