Chapter 137 - tournament
Luna rushed forward with her sword in hand.
The dwarf immediately realized that he couldn’t win against the two of us.
He turned around and tried to run.
Luna’s expression immediately darkened.
"You!"
"If you have the guts to attack us, then face me!"
"You coward!"
She raised her hand.
"Ice Spear!"
An ice spear shot forward.
BOOM!
It pierced straight through the dwarf’s chest.
I couldn’t help but shudder at the sight.
The poor dwarf’s body immediately disappeared into particles of light.
I quickly put on a normal expression.
Then I smiled slightly and walked toward Luna.
I waved my hand.
"Well, you got him."
"How about we go and have a little fun?"
Luna looked at me suspiciously.
"Hmm?"
"What are you up to now, Gray?"
"The way you’re talking is suspicious."
My eyes widened.
"What are you talking about?"
"When have I ever done anything suspicious?"
"Don’t slander me, Luna."
She looked at me with amusement.
"Oh, really?"
"Then tell me."
"When have you ever behaved normally?"
"You always try to prank me."
I looked up at the sky and turned away from her.
"Ah..."
"Let’s just forget about those small details."
"Come on. Let’s go before we miss all the fun."
Luna glared at me.
"Small details?"
"You..."
She took a deep breath before finally shaking her head.
"Fine."
"Let’s go."
"But I’ll take care of you another time."
I smiled brightly.
"Deal."
We left the area together.
We didn’t travel for long before we stumbled upon Rosalia.
She had apparently already gathered her team.
Several vampires stood around her.
The moment they noticed us, they immediately became alert.
I ignored them.
"Tsk."
"I thought you guys were some other race."
"If that’s the case, I could’ve had some fun."
I turned around.
"Let’s go."
But before I could leave, one of the vampires stepped forward.
He stared at me coldly.
"Who do you think you are, human?"
"If you don’t have a death wish, surrender now."
"Otherwise—"
He didn’t get the chance to finish.
Rosalia immediately cut him off.
"Hey."
"Who do you think you are?"
"I’m the leader here, not you."
"Know your place."
Her voice was cold.
She gave him a sharp glare.
The vampire clenched his teeth.
He was a year older than Rosalia, and he was clearly unwilling to take orders from someone younger than him.
But she was still a princess.
And offending a princess was one of the most brain-dead things he could possibly do.
Even though he was unwilling, he stepped back and remained silent.
I didn’t care about people who only barked.
But if he took even a single action against us...
I’d make sure he couldn’t do anything for the rest of the examination.
Rosalia looked toward me.
"Alright."
"We’ll go our separate ways, as agreed."
I nodded.
I looked at Luna.
She gave me a small nod.
Then we turned around and started walking in the opposite direction.
Everything should have ended there.
But that bastard couldn’t keep his hands to himself.
A blood spear suddenly shot toward Luna.
He had chosen her because she was the closest target.
He probably thought that if he could take one of us down unexpectedly, the others could deal with me afterward.
Luna noticed the attack.
She immediately created an ice shield.
BOOM!
The blood spear collided with it.
At the same instant, I disappeared.

I appeared directly beside the vampire.
I didn’t intend to kill him.
So instead of striking his vital points—

My blade cut through his arm.
Blood sprayed from the wound.
I immediately followed with a kick.

The vampire was sent crashing into the ground.
I stood over him and looked down with cold eyes.
Even though he was a year older than me, defeating him wasn’t difficult.

And I’d spent months fighting against Luna and Elara.
Compared to everything I’d experienced so far...
Taking him down was easy.
Rosalia stared at the situation.
Her expression darkened.
She wasn’t angry because I’d cut off one of her people’s arms.
She was angry because he’d directly violated her order.
She walked toward us.
I’d already restrained the vampire, making sure he couldn’t move.
Rosalia stopped in front of me.
Her blood-red eyes met mine.
I didn’t flinch.
I looked directly into her eyes.
"Keep your underlings in line."
My voice was extremely cold.
"If that attack had succeeded..."
"I wouldn’t have stopped here."
Rosalia remained silent for a moment.
She understood.
She couldn’t start a fight here.
She was the one who had proposed the agreement.
And one of her own people had been the one to break it.
After a moment, she nodded.
"Alright."
"Can you let him go now?"
"I’ll take care of him from here."
I studied her eyes for a moment.
She was being sincere.
I nodded.
"Fine."
I released the vampire.
Then I walked toward Luna.
"Are you okay?"
Luna nodded.
"I’m fine."
We didn’t say anything else.
We simply left.

Rosalia and the rest of her team remained behind.
One of the girls eventually stepped forward.
"Princess..."
"Why did you agree to stay out of each other’s way?"
"Especially with that human?"
Rosalia waited for a moment before answering.
She looked toward the direction Gray and Luna had disappeared.
"That human is extremely powerful."
"If we fought him now, we’d lose more than half of our members."
The girl remained silent.
Rosalia continued.
"Our goal is to secure a place in the Secret Realm."
"If we wait until the end and preserve all our members, we can deal with him then."
"If we fight him now and lose several members, we could actually gain more spots in the Secret Realm if they are eliminated."
"So why would I choose to fight him now when we have another option?"
The girl thought about it.
She had seen how easily Gray defeated the vampire.
And that vampire wasn’t weak.

The others nodded.
Some were still dissatisfied with how the princess had handled the situation.
But the smarter ones understood.
Rosalia hadn’t backed down because she was afraid.
She had simply chosen the better battle.
I activated Void Step and traveled alongside Luna, matching her speed without any trouble.
As we moved through the area, we suddenly heard the sounds of a battle ahead.
Luna and I exchanged a glance before deciding to take a look.
When we arrived, we found two teams fighting each other.
Six elves were battling against seven beastmen, and judging by the state of the battlefield, it seemed like they had already been fighting for quite some time.
Luna watched the battle for a moment before looking at me.
"What are we doing? Who are we attacking first—the elves or the beastmen?"
I tilted my head.
"What are you talking about?"
Luna looked at me in confusion.
"What do you mean?"
Instead of answering, I reached into my Space Storage and pulled out several different kinds of food and drinks.
I sat down and casually said,
"Let’s just enjoy the show. After they’re done, we can finish off whoever’s left."
I yawned.
Luna’s eyes twitched.
"You... how can you be like that?"
I blinked innocently.
"What do you mean, Luna? It’s a free show. Why should I miss it?"
I grabbed a snack and continued.
"We can learn from them while watching. Besides, we can treat this like a small tournament."
I smiled.
"And we can even arrange a reward."
Luna blinked.
"A reward?"
I nodded happily.
"We can let them fight us afterward. The winning team gets to fight us first."
I smiled even wider.
"Isn’t that a good reward?"
Luna stared at me for a few seconds.
Then she sighed.
"Shameless."
She sat down beside me anyway, taking half of the food and drinks I had brought out.
She then started watching the battle while casually enjoying the snacks.
My eyes twitched.
"Ah... you just called me shameless, and now you’re doing the exact same thing."
Luna simply smiled and said nothing.
She continued watching the battle.
I looked at her for a moment before shrugging.
Well...
If she was going to enjoy the show too, I might as well join her.
So I sat beside her, grabbed a snack, and turned my attention back to the battlefield.
"Let’s see who wins."
