"City Lord, I will inform Qianhuang Peak right away!" A voice came from the City Lord’s residence in the City Lord Mansion.

Upon hearing this, Lin Fei immediately stopped in his tracks, standing still to listen to what was being said inside by the City Lord.

"Yes!"

The voice replied and then headed out of the room. However, Lin Fei happened to be outside the room. If he didn’t hide, he would bump into them, which would be awkward. In this urgent moment, he quickly took out the turtle shell and put it on.

The turtle shell covered Lin Fei, and with a wave, Lin Fei’s figure gradually disappeared from head to toe, a function he discovered later on—unexpectedly, it had the ability to render one invisible.

Lin Fei held his breath, daring not to make a sound. The City Lord was right in front of him but couldn’t see him. Lin Fei could clearly see the City Lord, whose eyes were sharp and constantly scanning the surroundings, unsure if there was anyone there, even though he distinctly heard a noise.

Finally, after five minutes, a servant came to report something, prompting the City Lord to nod and return to his room to continue working.

Only then did Lin Fei let out a sigh of relief and carefully slipped away.

Finally, Lin Fei arrived in front of Master Chen Rui’s door but hesitated. He wasn’t sure if Master Chen Rui would detain him or if perhaps Master Chen Rui and the City Lord were in cahoots.

Hearing Lin Fei’s words, Master Chen Rui furrowed his brows, finished the last bite of his ice cream, then stored the refrigerator in his ring, saying, "Come with me, I’ll go ask the City Lord if he really plans to hand you over to Qianhuang Peak."

"Master, you can’t!"

Lin Fei sighed, "Even if you go, the City Lord won’t admit it. If you really want to verify the truth, catch that guy who just left not long ago, that would work better."

Hearing Lin Fei’s suggestion, Master Chen Rui nodded, thinking it would be beneficial to Lin Fei and also determine whether Lin Fei was telling the truth. Eventually, Master Chen Rui took Lin Fei and headed away from the City Lord Mansion.

The City Lord, in his room at the moment, sensed Chen Rui’s presence. When he went out, Chen Rui had already disappeared. He noticed Chen Rui was heading toward where the spy disappeared, which made him furrow his brows, wondering if Chen Rui had discovered something.
