Chapter 69: Ziz Gets Captured by White
After taking that devastating attack, even with a bunch of buffs on her, White really couldn’t take it anymore.
Her body was now numb from the electric shock, but she still tried her best not to show it so she could maintain her strong image in front of Ziz.
Her hood had been destroyed. Although her outfit had a few holes in it, there was no major problem overall. It was pure white at first, but now the charred black parts were much more prominent than the white.
Besides that, her body was also burned in a few places. Although burns like these could leave scars on other people, she was an S-rank support after all, so dealing with injuries like these herself was very simple.
White’s eyes hadn’t looked at them even once since the battle ended. Instead, they kept darting around, searching for the source of that ridiculous power just now.
"Ziz, aren’t you surprised? That ridiculous power completely overwhelmed you."
Ziz was still about ten thousand meters away from White at this moment. The two of them could talk to each other, of course, not in the normal way.
S-rank hunters had a very good ability to manipulate energy, so White used energy to protect her voice, making sure it could reach Ziz.
Ziz didn’t need to make things that complicated. If he wanted her to hear his voice, then she could hear it. And vice versa, when she spoke, he could hear her without having to wait for her voice to reach him.
Even though he was just a fat black chicken right now, his true level was that of an immortal entity. This little ability wasn’t limited by the level of power he could use.
"Indeed, what an ignorant and foolish lowly mortal. This is nothing more than the power of that stupid system. There’s nothing surprising about it."
If Ziz’s arrogant way of speaking were combined with his unpleasant voice, White would probably have rushed up and beaten him again. But for the sake of cuteness, White reluctantly listened to this damn way of talking.
"Tsk, just who did you learn how to talk from?"
White clicked her tongue, but at the same time, she became more cautious. The way Ziz acted made it seem like he knew the owner of that ridiculous power from earlier.
Dealing with Ziz alone was already troublesome, and now there was another existence much stronger than him. White no longer had any confidence that she could leave this dungeon.
The system’s terrifying power that was completely illogical was indeed frightening. But if White knew how the system worked, she would definitely be confident enough to curse at it just like Bell.
"Do I need to learn? I’ve known these simple things since I became conscious."
Ziz was already high up in the sky, yet he still had to raise his head proudly when he spoke. He looked extremely punchable, but in White’s eyes, he was incredibly cute.
"Seriously, you don’t want to consider becoming my pet? As long as you stay by my side and don’t harm humanity, I guarantee you won’t die. Otherwise, once I leave this place, I’ll call more hunters to kill you because you’re too dangerous to humanity."
Right now, the chances of defeating Ziz and his companions were basically zero. So White decided to use the least violent method to get a pet. She really wanted to bring Ziz back and hug him. Ziz was exactly the kind of pet she had never even dreamed of having.
Monsters inside dungeons didn’t need to eat or use the bathroom. Ziz’s only flaw was the way he talked, but Ziz’s voice was just too cute, so even if he cursed a little more, White could still accept it.
Of course, if they couldn’t have a good relationship, she would have no choice but to eliminate Ziz. Monsters in dungeons had always killed people for no reason whatsoever. Ziz was so strong that White couldn’t let him wander around freely.
"Damn mortal, just you wait. I’m busy right now; we’ll continue fighting another time."
Seeing that White’s desire to turn him into a pet hadn’t decreased at all, Ziz found an excuse to run away. His power was about to reach its limit now, and if he dragged things out any longer, he really would get captured.
Last time, when Ziz was down in the septic tank, the system could immediately teleport him back, but this time, the system definitely wouldn’t help him. The system would definitely laugh very loudly when it saw Ziz helplessly being treated like a chick and raised as a pet by White.
That meant Ziz had to wait until Nexus or Mark was in life-threatening danger before he had a chance to escape. But who knew when they would be in danger?
"Trying to run? Don’t even think about it!"
White had already determined that she couldn’t beat the system’s terrifying power, so she knew she couldn’t escape. Since that was the case, she decided to take a gamble and charged straight ahead.
She immediately flapped her wings and flew after Ziz. Ziz’s speed had already dropped drastically, and the distance between them quickly narrowed.
Fortunately, Ziz managed to fly relatively close to where Nexus was standing. An extremely clever plan immediately flashed through his mind.
At the same time, White’s hand reached out and grabbed Ziz. His severely weakened strength meant that no matter how much Ziz struggled, he couldn’t break free.
"Wait. That’s my master. Prove to me that you’re superior to him, then I’ll agree to follow you."
"Huh? Are you serious?"
White was surprised that an existence as powerful as Ziz actually had a master. At least, she had never heard of a monster born from a dungeon willingly accepting a human as its master.
Her attempt to turn Ziz into a pet would indeed be extremely stupid if other hunters heard about it. But Ziz’s cuteness suited White so well that she ignored everything and decided to try the impossible herself.
"Mortal, let me go!"
Ziz was furious because White kept squeezing and kneading him with her hand while talking, as if she were squeezing a highly elastic toy.
"Struggling is useless. You dared to hit me just now, so shouldn’t you pay the price now?"
White said, but her eyes weren’t looking at Ziz. Instead, she was looking at Nexus. The moment she saw Nexus, she was so shocked that she couldn’t speak.
