Chapter 992 - Only Surrender
The five organizations couldn’t understand it. The three great families had just been completely against negotiating. What had caused them to suddenly change their minds?
They followed the three families’ gaze and spotted Daniel leading the charge. Though the Final King had been dead for over a hundred years, his legend still echoed through the White Soul Civilization.
At once, the five organizations understood. The Final King had already submitted, meaning there was no reason the three great families, descendants of the First King, had to keep holding out either.
Of course, all eight factions could tell that this figure was not truly the Final King Lingray, but nobody cared whether he was real or fake.
There was no shame in negotiating with or losing to the Final King. In fact, the outside world would see it as perfectly normal. After all, the real Final King Lingray had once commanded the loyalty of dozens of major factions and led the entire White Soul Civilization to the peak of known civilizations.
Submitting to the Final King was not only acceptable, but was conversely an honor. Most other factions wouldn’t even have this privilege.
Daniel brought his undead skeleton forces right up to the eight factions. The leaders immediately raised their hands and proposed negotiations. Recognizing this as a golden opportunity to conquer all eight factions, Daniel immediately relayed the news to Han Wu.
When Han Wu heard the proposal, he waved it off without a second thought. “Negotiate? What’s there to negotiate? Is there any point? Tell them I only accept surrender.”
The situation was crystal clear to Han Wu. His undead army had grown beyond their control in Apocalypse City. The eight factions’ last resort, the Supreme Power, was already in his hands and couldn’t be turned against him.
Under these circumstances, that Han Wu hadn’t wiped the eight factions out entirely was already more than generous. The very prospect of negotiations was a joke. There was nothing to negotiate.
Han Wu wanted everything. Anything else was a waste of his time.
Daniel passed Han Wu’s message to the eight furious leaders. Despite their anger, they ultimately agreed to surrender on the condition that Han Wu withdraw the undead army from Apocalypse City afterward.
They simply had no choice. Between them, the eight factions had nearly twenty Ninth Form fighters, a formidable force when combined.
Even these Ninth Form fighters could only shake their heads when faced with an ocean of undead, though. They were powerful enough to fight one against 10,000, but Han Wu’s undead army numbered far more than 200,000 and counting. Given enough time, he could produce 2 billion.
This naturally terrified the eight factions. The most critical issue was that they hadn’t figured out how Han Wu was creating these undead skeletons. Unless they could address the problem at its root, the only outcome was death or surrender.
Han Wu was pleased when all eight factions surrendered, and he didn’t hesitate to lay out his terms. As the victor, he was confiscating the Supreme Power and demanded a powerful Ninth Form legacy. Having only reached the Eighth Form so far, a Ninth Form would complete his progression.
The five organizations immediately agreed to both. The Supreme Power wasn’t theirs to begin with. If Han Wu took it away, it would actually remove a major threat hanging over their heads.
The three great families, on the other hand, were miserable about it. The First King had been dead for several hundred years, with little remaining of his legacy, and the Supreme Power was easily the most valuable treasure he had left behind.
For Han Wu to take it was like a chunk of flesh being carved from their hearts. Worse still, as the Supreme Power belonged to them, the five organizations were effectively getting off cheap. The three families protested to Han Wu, demanding that the five organizations contribute assets of equal value.
Han Wu naturally agreed and was even privately impressed. The three families were worthy descendants of the First King with real vision. They were shoving more treasure into his hands. It almost made him feel guilty.
The total price of surrender went from the Supreme Power plus one Ninth Form legacy to the Supreme Power plus ten Ninth Form legacies, along with enough energy to power the Supreme Power at full capacity for three hours.
The five organizations nearly choked. They despised the three families for this underhanded move, but there was nothing they could do except grit their teeth and accept.
Han Wu was powerful beyond belief. One moment of defiance could uproot their organization entirely. The five organizations treated it as paying for peace.
Within a single day, the eight factions had everything Han Wu demanded ready. The Supreme Power’s core command authority was transferred to Han Wu, and its energy reserves were topped off.
Han Wu picked through the ten Ninth Form legacies and settled on one best suited for him: the Netherflare Wolf King.
It granted control over both darkness and fire, with solid physical attacks as well. Absorbing the Netherflare Wolf King affected all of Han Wu’s previous forms.
Under Han Wu’s deliberate guidance, every form merged into a single special form that he named the Nether King.
His control over darkness and fire received a massive boost while in Nether King form, allowing him to unleash both dark and fire attribute attacks, as well as combined attacks using both elements. He could also summon undead, wolf spirits, and dragon spirits.
It had virtually no weaknesses. This Nether King form was every bit as powerful as his Demon King Transformation. Once activated, his overall strength would approach the Subcosm rank. Achieving this level of power in the White Soul Civilization in such a short time was no small feat.
After fully assessing his abilities, Han Wu rode a Bone Dragon straight back to the Golden Tree to submit his request to become king. The Golden Will was already aware of Han Wu’s actions and made no attempt to object to his request.
Using the Golden Tree as a conduit, the Golden Will drew on the entire White Soul Civilization’s power to crown Han Wu the new king.
This also meant Han Wu could choose his title. For convenience, he simply used his strongest form, and the name “Nether King Han Wu” spread across the White Soul Civilization through the Golden Will’s broadcast.
A new king had been crowned. Some major factions that had never dealt with Han Wu refused to acknowledge him and declared to the Golden Will that they would not accept him unless he demonstrated strength worthy of their submission.
Han Wu had no time to deal with these factions and so didn’t bother responding personally. He had already become king and received the White Soul Civilization’s greatest reward. His priority was returning to the Divine Civilization so that he could fulfil his responsibilities.
Instead, he left the task of disciplining those factions to Daniel and the Fire Dragon Spirit Esna, as they couldn’t follow him back to the Divine Civilization. The two of them would bring the White Soul Civilization to heel on his behalf.
With everything arranged, Han Wu chose to return.
The White Soul Civilization, however, was far from peaceful. Daniel and the Fire Dragon Spirit Esna were fully prepared to unleash a war of conquest across the entire civilization in the name of Nether King Han Wu.
