Chapter 991 - Unkillable
The Supreme Power’s palm blazed with a brilliant light at the three great families’ command. This strike would channel the maximum output to eliminate the target.
The massive energy went through extreme compression. Han Wu could feel its terrifying force even from the ground. Still, he trusted the Desolation Manifestation’s assessment that its attacks hadn’t reached Jurisdiction level.
“Die!” the eight faction leaders cried, eyes fixed on Han Wu below.
Given the Supreme Power’s blast radius, Han Wu couldn’t escape even if he ran now. He was going to get hit.
A thunderous boom rang out as the ultra-concentrated energy blast fired. The compressed energy expanded at incredible speed the moment it left the compression field, and horrifying pressure crashed down on Han Wu.
The eight faction leaders watched intently, eager to see Han Wu crushed to pulp and melted, only to be left baffled as the energy blast struck him dead-on.
It had no effect. The next instant, black bone sand erupted from beneath Han Wu’s feet like a geyser. Everything the Supreme Power had just destroyed became covered in bone sand, and new Jackal Deathsworn formed all over again.
The eight faction leaders were stunned. He tanked that direct hit and not only survived but is counterattacking?
“Keep firing! Hit him again and again until he’s dead!” the three great families cried in fury. They refused to believe that the Supreme Power, a legacy from the First King himself, couldn’t kill one measly person.
The five organizations shared the same thought. They assumed Han Wu was using a defensive item to tank the blow. Powerful defensive items usually had limited uses. As long as they attacked enough times, they would surely break through. Han Wu would have nowhere to hide at that point.
Daniel watched the ensuing spectacle from the safety of the city wall. The Supreme Power hammered Han Wu with its most powerful energy blasts one after another, while Han Wu’s bone sand erupted wave after wave.
Chunks of ravaged land were covered with bone sand, thicker than before, and the lost Jackal Deathsworn were replaced. Wave after wave of Jackal Deathsworn swarmed through Apocalypse City’s broken walls, launching indiscriminate attacks on every living thing inside. The city turned into a living nightmare.
Every faction leader’s face paled, as if they had seen a ghost. They had never encountered anything this impossible to kill before. Some even wondered whether the Han Wu down there was just an illusion. That was the only way they could rationalize his taking this much punishment.
Then Han Wu went on the offensive. The Fire Dragon Spirit gathered the massive fire energy Han Wu channeled into it and poured everything into the greatsword.
Through the power of a Divine Jurisdiction, that energy became the Dragonflare Jurisdiction. The terrifying flames radiated a heat so extreme they seemed capable of turning everything in existence to ash.
The eight faction leaders inside the Supreme Power’s head were shaken to their cores. Han Wu was coming for them!
They watched as Han Wu launched himself upward and aimed a devastating attack at the Supreme Power’s head.
“Run!” someone screamed, snapping the others out of their shock.
All eight leaders unleashed their strongest Forms. Not to fight Han Wu, but to escape the head before his fire reached it.
The moment they fled the Supreme Power’s cockpit, Han Wu pulled back the Fire Dragon Spirit and dove inside. The command center was still fully operational, with the system awaiting orders.
Han Wu knew a thing or two about puppets, so he ran through every basic operation he had learned and shut the Supreme Power down. The colossus froze in place, standing like a tower on the battlefield.
Below, endless Jackal Deathsworn continued to spawn from the sea of bone sand and pour into Apocalypse City, killing everything in their path. Only after the eight faction leaders landed safely from the thousand-meter fall and saw the Supreme Power still standing did they realize Han Wu’s true intent.
His Dragonflare Jurisdiction had been a bluff to scare them off so he could seize control of the Supreme Power.
“Damn it, we fell for his trick!” one organization leader cursed.
The three great family leaders assured everyone that there was no need to panic. Without their special command codes, Han Wu could only shut the Supreme Power down. Using it to attack them was out of the question.
“Thank the heavens for that.”
The five organization leaders fully understood the Supreme Power’s might. If Han Wu could turn it against them, surrendering would be their only option.
The Supreme Power being unusable was the best possible news, but that didn’t make their situation any less dire.
Massive numbers of Jackal Deathsworn had already breached the city. Most casualties were civilians, but the eight factions’ business operations were suffering too. If the war continued, even if they ultimately won, the losses would be catastrophic.
“How about we negotiate?” one organization leader suggested.
All five organizations agreed. Their assets were all in Apocalypse City, which the Jackal Deathsworn were tearing through. The losses were already beyond reckoning. The sooner they reached an agreement, the less they would lose.
However, the three great families refused. They were descendants of the First King and held great pride in carrying his blood. In plain terms, they cared about reputation and appearances. They would rather lose resources than lose face.
While they argued over whether to negotiate, a swarm of Jackal Deathsworn charged their position. When the three great family leaders spotted Daniel at the head of the charge, they froze, then hastily turned to the five organizations and agreed to negotiate.
“Quickly. It’s urgent!”
