Chapter 198: Popular Rumours.
Sunnie had spent the rest of the day investing in the meal she was preparing for the wild beasts. Even though she wasn’t going to feed them in the coming days, at least she wanted to show some appreciation through the meal. Only then would these wild beasts come and protect them frequently during any upcoming attacks.
While she worked hard on the meal, the kids immediately clustered around her. They seemed to have a lot to say with endless questions and complaints.
"Did someone really come?" Maren asked, curious.
"Were they big and scary?" Ronan inquired.
"Of course they’d be big and scary," Mii expressed.
"How could I miss this? I wanted to see for myself and see how everything ends," Maren pouted. "Why didn’t you bring me along, Mama?"
Sunnie smiled. "It was best you continued playing with the rest. It’s nothing fun to see at all."
But Maren sighed as she said, "Of course this would be more fun." She turned and stared at Ronan and Mii. "It’s all your fault. Because I was busy playing with you guys, I missed it all."
"How’s it our fault?" Mii and Ronan asked, blinking.
Maren folded her arms with a pout. "I won’t play with you guys anymore!"
Mii also folded her arms. "I won’t play with you guys again."
Ronan stared at them with a blink as he said, "If that’s the case, I also won’t play with you guys! I’ll play alone!"
Sunnie and the other women cooking stared at them with broad smiles while shaking their heads.
"Don’t worry, next time you’ll see them, okay?" Elza assured them, but the kids didn’t easily believe her at all.
They kept pouting as the women shook their heads with smiles and continued their work.

That evening, they had managed to prepare dinner for everyone while also preparing a separate one for the wild beasts. Sunnie had made theirs delicious enough to be long-lasting and memorable.
After that, Sunnie and her beast husbands took the meals and left them at the same spot for the wild beasts.
"Do you think they’ll come?" Luka asked. "Maybe if we wait and they don’t, we can eat it instead."
They stared at him.
"Don’t worry, they’ll come for sure," Eris said.
"What a shame, then... this looks delicious," Luka sighed.
"Everything looks delicious to you," Karl said.
"That’s probably because I have better taste," Luka shrugged.
Sunnie smiled, shaking her head as she said, "Enough bickering. If you all keep bickering, what then are you going to teach the little ones, eh?" She smiled as they turned and headed back for the night.
By the next day, the wild beasts had already come and devoured the delicious meal left for them.
---
As a matter of fact, the hyenas weren’t the last visitors. After them came some others who also didn’t have nice intentions.
The news of Sunnie’s successful harvest had spread down along the beast tribes, and everyone was simply impressed.
The news came to them that there was a blossoming farmland in the evil forest which had produced everything blissful during its harvest. The most striking fact was that it had all blossomed early.
Harvest hadn’t officially kicked off for the beast tribes. So Sunnie’s was rather early and also bountiful. There was widespread news that the harvest of this year in the beast lands wasn’t so bountiful. Everyone had noticed that their crops weren’t growing as much as they thought. So they accepted the fact that this year’s harvest wasn’t going to be a bountiful one.
But they heard contrary news. Not only did the farmland in the evil forest grow earlier than others, but it had also blossomed beautifully. The survivors of the hyena tribes had clearly spread the news of how magnificent it was.
But what struck people the most was the owner of this farmland—Sunnie. The infamous jinxed rabbit of the land. The same rabbit that everyone viewed in terrible light and had instantly cast away without any second thoughts. The jinxed rabbit that brought bad luck to everyone. The same rabbit that was expected to die in the evil forest with her husbands—that was the same rabbit that had apparently stolen the show.
The same rabbit whose farm was blooming early and nonstop while other tribes were managing their worst farming year.
"How’s that possible? How did that jinx manage to get a successful farmland?" It didn’t make sense to them at all.
"And in the evil forest? I thought she would die there with her bastard husbands. Why isn’t she dead yet but has successful farmlands? Does that make any sense?"
"I know, right? I also heard that she has some little tribe members now. They’re developing some tribe in that evil forest."
"That makes no sense. Wasn’t that supposed to be the evil forest? I mean, anyone who goes there will surely die. The atmosphere is not convenient for survival at all. So how is it possible that they all survived, managed to build some home for their little tribes, and even had a successful farm in a deserted land? It makes no sense!"
Everyone was losing their minds across the tribes when they heard the news. They couldn’t help but listen in disbelief while finding it absurd. They couldn’t accept that while they suffered in this harvest season, some jinxed rabbit whom they had looked down on and collectively tossed off to die had somehow made it big and now had successfully harvested.
The conversation about it spread rampantly across tribes, and everyone had the same reaction. Especially hearing that the wild beastmen—Sunnie’s beast husbands—were still alive with their mate and in fact were living comfortably on their grand farmland, which had produced more than enough while other tribes were struggling for food.
It didn’t sit right with them at all. And so they had slowly begun deciding to pay Sunnie a visit at the evil forest, all with their own patterns and methods.
