Chapter 126: Clearing Competition
"Why? Are you jealous?" Sunnie stared at Karl.
Karl scoffed. "Jealous? Why would I be? I just think it doesn’t make sense. I can do this more than him. I mean, it’s not that hard..."
Sunnie raised an eyebrow. "Oh, is that so? But I didn’t teach you... So how can you even do it? I don’t believe it. I still think Azure is the best for this."
Karl smirked as he said, "You don’t have to teach me for me to do it. And that’s why I’m the best."
Sunnie slowly nodded. "Oh, is that so... then can you please show me how you can do it? I mean, seeing is believing, after all."
Karl folded his arms as he cleared his throat. "Okay. You asked for it. Watch closely and see how it’s done."
Karl proudly stepped into the scene, and Azure handed him the lawnmower. Sunnie watched as he started it and began moving, effortlessly clearing the space.
He was moving faster than Azure while he cleared the space, and Sunnie smiled. Immediately, Sunnie started clapping at the scene. "Oh wow! I can’t even believe my eyes. Little did I know you were the best!"
She kept flattering him. "Wow! I didn’t even teach you, and you can do it so perfectly? I’m so marveled! The way you move so fast! I guess I’ve been wrong all this while... You are the best!"
"....." Azure blinked as he stared at Sunnie and then at Karl working. He was jealous at that moment.
Karl smiled while working. He heard all the praises Sunnie gave and couldn’t help but feel proud of himself.
He kept working harder and moving as fast as possible, all to impress Sunnie even more without realizing it.
Sunnie smiled as she kept praising him while also being happy about the land that was being cleared as fast as possible. They had already gotten halfway through.
Sunnie turned to Zayn as she said, "What do you think? You also think Karl is really good, right?"
Zayn scoffed as he said, "He’s okay."
"Okay? Why not best?"
Zayn smiled as he said, "He can’t be better than me, unfortunately."
Sunnie smiled. "Is that so? Can you do it too? Can you show me?"
Zayn cleared his throat as he stepped into the scene. He took the lawnmower and began working. He was fast, quick, and efficient. He was already doing a lot of work in a short time, and Sunnie was impressed.
"Whoa, I guess I was wrong. I guess he is the best after all!" She continued her praising through him.
Azure and Karl stood at a distance with Eris and Luka, watching. Jealousy was written all over their faces as Sunnie shamelessly praised Zayn as the best among the best.
Karl scoffed. "He’s just pushing it without any vigor. Nothing much to see. I’m still the best."
Eris and Luka folded their arms, pouting.
Now, all her beast husbands wanted to compete for the work. Not necessarily for the work itself, but for Sunnie to praise them and crown them the best.
And they took their turns doing so. Azure would put in his best, clearing the space and moving firmly. Karl would come and move the fastest, trying to outdo them all. Zayn would do his best too, making sure he was the most efficient.
And as anyone came, Sunnie would praise them and call them the best, instigating the others to want to do better. And it continued like that in a cycle.
Eris and Luka weren’t participating. When they tried doing so, Luka lost grip of the lawnmower and almost had it run off. Eris, on the other hand, had it chasing him.
And so the two of them sat down at a corner, accepting their fate.
"I guess this work isn’t for me," Luka shook his head.
"Hard work generally isn’t for me," Eris said, shaking his head.
At that moment, Luka’s stomach grumbled as the two of them stared at his stomach and then at each other.
"I’ve been working so hard, now I’m hungry."

The work continued like that, cycling among the three of them who were competing for the title of the best. Sunnie kept rotating the praise for them as they continued.
She wondered if they were ever tired of competing at all.
But she guessed it was to her own advantage because at least they were doing an excellent job.
And even before the deadline of the equipment arrived, they were done with the work. The three of them had successfully cleared the whole land—the huge expanse of land. And it was looking so clear and neat.
When they were done, the three of them stood there on the land, looking around. They were shocked at how fast they had done it and still wondered if there was anything left for them to do in order to show off.
Sunnie smiled at the scene before her. The job was done. "Good. That’s good," she said with a smile as she approached the three of them.
Sunnie stood tall on her toes as she patted Azure on his head; he leaned down for her hand to reach.
"You all did a good job," she smiled as she moved to Karl. He didn’t need the pat, and neither did Zayn.
She smiled as she said, "In my heart, there is no winner because all of you are the winners here. You are all the best in my heart." She smiled as she repeated the cringe line she had heard in such situations.
She guessed it didn’t work well because Zayn and Karl had cold and unimpressed expressions on their faces.
"...." She smiled.
