Chapter 62: How Bored Are You?
Ian Monroe watched, his brows knitted tightly together.
’Why would Mom sell all her favorite things?’
"Thanks! I have plenty more. If you like this stuff, just message me directly."
The two young women immediately nodded.
’What a steal! We paid second-hand prices for brand-new items!’
"This little boy is so precious! He’s just adorable!"
"He’s my son," Melody Monroe said proudly.
One of the young women reached out to touch Ian Monroe’s cheek, but he instantly took a step back, his little face tightening into a stern, ’keep your distance’ expression.
Melody Monroe realized Ian only showed his soft, cute side to her.
’He really is the ultimate villain. So young, and already with such a powerful aura.’
After saying goodbye to the two young women, Melody Monroe took Ian Monroe’s small hand and headed for the second floor of the mall.
Since it was the afternoon, the mall wasn’t very crowded. She found the children’s section on the directory.
"Wow! Look at all this stuff! Ian, see anything you like? Mommy will buy it for you!"
Ian Monroe glanced around at his surroundings, uninterested.
’Did Mom sell her favorite things just to buy stuff for me?’
’If that’s the case, then I don’t want any of it!’
’I just want Mom to be happy.’
Seeing Ian Monroe’s expression, Melody Monroe crouched down and took his little hand. "What’s wrong? Don’t you like anything, Ian? If not, we can keep looking, okay?"
"I love you, Mommy."
The sudden declaration of love hit Melody Monroe like a sweet, stunning blow. She wrapped her arms around Ian and planted a kiss on his little cheek.
"Since you love Mommy, does that mean you’ll love anything Mommy buys for you? Is that right?"
"Mhm." Ian Monroe nodded.
Only when he looked at his mother did those beautiful, big eyes of his truly sparkle. Nothing else in the world could capture his attention.
Melody Monroe had no choice but to take matters into her own hands!
Clothes? She had to have them.
Shoes? Those too.
She probably didn’t even realize how formidable a woman on a shopping spree could be.
And with Ian Monroe’s good looks, everything she put on him looked fantastic, as if it were tailor-made just for him!
"Both of these hats are so cute... Which one should I choose? Ah, forget it, I’ll take them both!"
Ian Monroe quickly raised his little hand and pointed to one.
"Oh, you like this one, Ian? Then this is the one we’ll get!"
"Mommy, that’s enough," Ian Monroe reminded her softly.
Only then did Melody Monroe realize she really had bought too much. "Alright, that’s enough for today. We’ll buy more next time!"
Ian Monroe: ...
"Could you hold these for me? I’ll be back to pick them up later," Melody Monroe said to the sales associate.
She wanted to keep walking around with Ian, and carrying all those bags would be inconvenient.
"Of course. Please hold onto your receipt, ma’am."
Melody Monroe led Ian Monroe out of the store.
"Are you hungry, Ian? Should we go get a bite to eat?"
"Mhm." Ian Monroe nodded obediently.
Melody Monroe scooped him up into her arms. ’A little kid walking so much must be tired.’
Ian Monroe quickly wrapped his arms around his mother’s neck and leaned his head obediently on her shoulder. Noticing beads of sweat on her forehead, he reached out his little hand to wipe them away.
Evan Fairchild watched the scene from a distance.
’This woman... struggling so much at Stellaris she can’t even support her child, yet she still refuses to leave!’
’I’d like to see just how long she can last.’
Suddenly, Evan Fairchild’s phone rang.
"President Fairchild, you have a meeting in twenty minutes. Where are you, sir? Shall I come and get you?"
Evan Fairchild glanced at the time, his brow furrowing.
He’d actually wasted two whole hours here!
