The evening’s shoot was a huge challenge for Melody Monroe!
Because the evening’s shoot was the pivotal romantic scene between Willow Lynch and Julian Hale.
The kiss scene was the main event of the night.
After eating her diet dinner and doing a short workout, Melody Monroe started reviewing her lines.
Tonight’s scene had a lot of dialogue. With the added pressure of a kiss scene, Melody was terrified of messing up. She had to memorize every single line perfectly!
"Melody, are you excited?" Talia Mercer suddenly leaned in, looking at Melody with a teasing grin.
"I’m not excited."
"How can you not be excited? It’s Zane Langdon! Our idol! You’re going to... with your idol..." Talia Mercer held up two fingers and touched their tips together, a bashful look on her face.
"This is acting. It’s a job." Melody tapped Talia’s head. "I’m not like you. I don’t have any improper thoughts about Mr. Langdon."
"I don’t believe for a second that you can be that calm."
"I am nervous," Melody answered honestly, then muttered under her breath, "I’ve never even been kissed before." ’That time with Evan Fairchild doesn’t count!’
"What did you say?" Talia hadn’t heard her clearly.
"I didn’t say anything. I’m going to review my lines some more."
"Okay, I won’t disturb you then."
Melody lowered her head and looked at her script.
"Julian! Look, the stars in the sky are so beautiful."
"How about I pluck one down for you?"
"Which one would you pluck for me?"
"I’ve already plucked it for you."
"You’re lying!"
"It’s hidden in your eyes. And there’s more than one."
Julian Hale gazes at Willow Lynch. They lock eyes for a few seconds before Julian suddenly takes her by the shoulders and leans in to kiss her.
There would also be a close-up. Willow Lynch’s expression had to convey shock, joy, reciprocation, and then passion—the entire sequence was essential, with no step left out.
Melody couldn’t help but wonder what it actually felt like to be in love.
What did it feel like to be so overcome with emotion that you just had to kiss someone?
Suddenly, a scene from that night flashed through her mind.
She had kissed Evan Fairchild.
She, who had been single her entire life, had never had a proper kiss. Not even once! And yet that night, in a moment of panic, she had actually kissed Evan Fairchild!
’Wait, I’m supposed to be reviewing my lines. What am I doing thinking about all this? Right, back to the script!’
A few minutes later, Melody still hadn’t managed to completely banish the image from her mind.
She covered her face with the script and let out a long sigh.
"Why? Evan Fairchild, why won’t you leave me alone? I’m already staying far away from you, making sure not to disturb your life. Can’t we just go our separate ways in peace?"
"Melody, we’re starting!" Talia Mercer called out to her.
Melody immediately stood up and set her script aside.
The makeup artist hurried over to touch up her makeup.
Zane Langdon was already on set, walking through his blocking and discussing the upcoming details with the director.
Melody walked over, a wave of nervousness washing over her.
’I was fine just a moment ago, so why am I getting more and more nervous now?!’
Jasper Rockwell watched the situation on set, continuing to send tentative messages to Evan Fairchild, who hadn’t replied to a single one.
’Could it be that he really doesn’t care?’
’Impossible! My gut feeling is never wrong!’
He immediately picked up his phone, took a picture of that part of the script, and sent it to Evan Fairchild. He followed it up with a voice message: "They’re about to film the kiss scene! Oh, I’m so excited!"
