On the film set.

Zane Langdon looked around and saw Melody Monroe hiding behind the crowd.

"Melody!" he called out.

Melody immediately looked up and saw Zane Langdon waving at her. She walked over to him.

"Nervous?" Zane Langdon asked.

"N-no, not really. I’m not that nervous," Melody denied unconvincingly.

"Let’s run our lines first."

"Okay!" Melody nodded at once.

She knew Zane Langdon was trying to help her, so she could get into character more easily when filming started for real.

Each holding a script, the two began to run their lines.

Jasper Rockwell let out a sigh as he watched this unfold.

He glanced down at the number he couldn’t get through to and let out a laugh of pure frustration.

’Looks like a certain someone really doesn’t care.’

’Then again, it’s just acting. You can’t take it seriously.’

’When Zane Langdon and Melody Monroe actually become a thing in real life, you’ll regret it, Evan Fairchild!’

Jasper Rockwell tore the wrapper off a lollipop and shoved it into his mouth. He was so pissed, he needed something sweet to stop feeling so suffocated.

’Honestly, the emperor isn’t worried, but his eunuch is about to die from... bah!’

"Positions, everyone! We’re about to start filming!"

Zane Langdon and Melody Monroe walked to their marks.

Melody looked up at the night sky. It was truly beautiful, a perfect fit for the scene. The sky was filled with countless stars, glittering brilliantly against the boundless dark canvas.

Every time she filmed, she would mentally prepare herself by fully immersing into her character. It made acting so much easier.

No one knew this was her method; they simply thought she was a naturally gifted actress.

But today, she had absolutely no confidence.

Because no matter how she tried to psych herself up, she couldn’t immerse herself in the role.

Even with the perfect atmosphere, she just couldn’t get into the zone.

At this moment, she wasn’t Willow Lynch.

She was Melody Monroe.

"Action!"

Julian Hale hurried over from a distance. As soon as he saw Willow Lynch strolling in the dark, he stopped. His eyes were full of deep affection. After pausing for a few seconds, he smiled and ran toward Willow Lynch.

Willow Lynch’s part was to turn around and accidentally bump into Julian Hale’s embrace.

As soon as Melody heard the footsteps, she turned around.

Zane Langdon was still three paces away. No matter how "careless" she was, it was impossible to bump into his arms!

The take was ruined!

"It’s alright, Melody. Try to get a feel for the scene," Director Wallace said to her. "Zane will reach you in a few seconds. Just nail the timing."

"Okay," Melody nodded immediately.

"Action!" Director Wallace’s voice rang out again.

Zane Langdon began to repeat his movements from the last take.

When he got behind Melody, she still hadn’t turned around.

"Cut!" Director Wallace yelled.

He remained patient, though. He figured something must be wrong with Melody; otherwise, there was no way she’d mess up two takes in a row. He immediately walked over to check on her.

Melody was also getting frustrated.

But she just wasn’t in the zone. Her mind was completely preoccupied with the upcoming kiss scene.

She felt like this was a hurdle she just couldn’t overcome.

"Melody, what’s wrong?" Director Wallace asked.

"I can’t get a feel for it."

"Is it because of the kiss scene? Are you nervous?" Director Wallace could tell. This kind of scene was always a challenge for a newcomer.

So, it was perfectly normal for Melody to be having this problem.

"Try to relax. Don’t put so much pressure on yourself. Zane will guide you."

"Yeah, don’t be so nervous. Try to relax," Zane Langdon chimed in to comfort her.

"I’m sorry to trouble everyone," Melody apologized hurriedly.

She chanted silently in her mind: ’Melody, you are Willow Lynch. You are Willow Lynch. You are Willow Lynch...’
