"Mommy has a huge, huge mess to sort through." Melody Monroe just wished the little guy would finally play with the building blocks she had spent over a thousand on for him.

"I’ll help!" Ian Monroe added, afraid his mother would say no.

Seeing the eager look on her little guy’s face, Melody Monroe couldn’t bear to refuse. "Alright, come on then."

This rented apartment only had three rooms and was a hundred square meters, so the layout was very compact. Ian had one room, the nanny had another, and the master bedroom was Melody Monroe’s.

The previous owner’s things were all piled in the master bedroom, still completely unorganized.

Since they were all personal belongings, Melody Monroe didn’t know what was in there and hadn’t asked the nanny to tidy up. The moment she pushed the door open, she saw that the entire room—the floor, the bed, the closets, every available surface—was stuffed to the brim.

Melody Monroe pushed some things aside to clear a space, then sat right on the floor with a small notebook.

Ian Monroe sat down across from her. He wasn’t like other children; he was quiet, with a calm and composed air all his own.

Melody Monroe started with the jewelry—that was the most valuable!

The previous owner had a jewelry box, which Melody brought out and set before her. She had never opened it before. The moment she lifted the lid...

"Whoa!" She was stunned. The very first thing she saw in the box was a diamond ring!

Besides the diamond ring, there were six other rings.

Tucked underneath were the certificates and receipts for the jewelry.

Melody Monroe quickly wrote everything down. ’I’m not keeping a single piece.’

’Sell it! Sell it all!’

Looking at the prices on the receipts, the most expensive diamond ring was worth over thirty thousand, and the others combined were worth another seventeen or eighteen thousand.

’Not bad, not bad at all!’ Melody Monroe’s eyes crinkled in a wide smile.

The previous owner’s largest collections were clothes and makeup.

Many of the clothes still had the tags on. As Melody Monroe sorted through them, she took photos and looked up the brands and prices online.

’How extravagant! So unbelievably extravagant!’

’This one dress actually cost over ten thousand!’

’Is a hundred-dollar dress not comfortable enough?’

’Sell it!’

She immediately pulled out her phone, opened the secondhand marketplace on the most popular shopping website, and began listing the clothes she had just sorted, one by one.

"Mommy, what are you doing?"

"Selling clothes!"

"Why do you have to sell them?"

"So I can turn them into money to save. Mommy can’t wear this many clothes."

Ian Monroe watched Melody Monroe’s back, seemingly not quite understanding.

PING! A message popped up.

Melody Monroe felt a surge of delight. Someone had already sent a message to inquire.

She chatted with the buyer for a while. The buyer knew their stuff and was pleasant to deal with. She lowered the price a little, and they finalized her first sale.

Plus, the buyer was in Rockwellburg, so an in-person transaction was ideal. The buyer could inspect the goods on the spot, and she could get paid immediately. Melody Monroe chose a place, arranged a time, and put down her phone.

It took three hours for Melody Monroe to finish sorting the clothes. When she counted them, she was shocked to find there were over a hundred items!

She kept a few versatile styles that she liked, hung them in the closet, and then started on the bags and shoes.

More than thirty shoeboxes were stacked in two piles, covering a large area!

She felt a headache coming on. ’Another huge project!’

Ian Monroe immediately got up and began carrying the shoeboxes to his mother one by one.

"Ian, you’re such a good helper!" Melody Monroe said, praising him as she patted his head.

After being praised, Ian Monroe went to get the handbags, placing them neatly in a row before his mother.

Melody Monroe realized that she wouldn’t even be able to finish posting all the clothes online that night. For now, she could only sort through these other things to get a rough idea of what she had.

’I’ll try to get it all sorted in the next two days.’

In contrast, Ian Monroe’s own belongings were pitifully few.
