Melody Monroe sat in the passenger seat. Zane Langdon walked around to the driver’s side and quickly pulled the door open. In that brief moment, he was already soaked. While holding the umbrella, he had focused on shielding Melody’s side, making sure she didn’t get any wetter.

Seeing that Melody Monroe was shivering, he immediately started the car and turned on the heat.

"Thank you, Mr. Langdon."

"You seem so casual with Jasper Rockwell, but you’re so polite with me. Did you and Jasper know each other before this?"

"We met once before," Melody Monroe replied with a smile.

’But that one time, Jasper Rockwell appeared and vanished like the wind. It couldn’t really be called a formal introduction.’

"No wonder. So you met him before me."

Melody Monroe fastened her seatbelt, then noticed its position was too low and a little uncomfortable.

Zane Langdon turned, helping Melody Monroe adjust the position of her seatbelt.

As the young man suddenly leaned closer, bringing with him a clean scent, Melody Monroe’s breath caught in her throat.

’My idol is such a gentleman!’

’I wonder who could be lucky enough to become his girlfriend. A goddess like that must have saved the Milky Way!’

Although Zane Langdon was helping Melody Monroe with her seatbelt, he still kept a respectful distance. From the outside, however, it looked as if the two were intimately embracing.

"This is a new car I just got. First time driving it. Is that more comfortable?" Zane Langdon asked Melody Monroe.

"Mhm, it’s just right. By the way, I’m staying at The Cloudrest Hotel now."

"Why did you switch hotels?" Zane Langdon started the car and drove in the direction of The Cloudrest Hotel.

"I quite like the atmosphere at The Cloudrest Hotel, so I thought I’d switch it up," Melody Monroe explained with a smile.

Zane Langdon didn’t ask any more questions.

Although he wanted to get to know Melody Monroe better, he also knew when to stop.

Their relationship wasn’t that close yet.

...

The figure in the rain remained motionless until the blue sports car was out of sight. Only then did he turn and get back in his car.

Evan Fairchild sat in the back seat, and Tommy felt as if a blast of cold Siberian air had just blown through the car.

"President Fairchild, are we heading back to the hotel now?" he asked, mustering his courage.

"Mm."

Tommy immediately started the car.

Although they were on the way back to the hotel, he knew he had to follow the car ahead.

There was a red light up ahead. Tommy noticed the other car had stopped in the left-turn lane. ’But the hotel is a right turn, isn’t it?’

Just then, he took matters into his own hands and pulled the car into the left-turn lane.

The light turned green. The car ahead started up immediately and, just as he’d expected, turned left.

"President Fairchild, I wasn’t paying close enough attention to the road and ended up in the left-turn lane," Tommy explained cautiously, keeping a close watch on President Fairchild’s reaction.

Evan Fairchild remained silent. Tommy instantly let out a sigh of relief. He continued to follow the car ahead.

’Thank goodness I didn’t misjudge the situation this time!’

’President Fairchild was here to pick up Miss Monroe. After seeing her leave in another man’s car, how could he possibly be at ease just going back to the hotel?’

The sports car pulled up to the entrance of The Cloudrest Hotel, and a valet immediately went to open the door.

"Mr. Langdon, thank you for driving me back," Melody Monroe thanked him again.

"You’re welcome. See you on set tomorrow."

"Mhm, see you tomorrow."

Zane Langdon drove off.

Melody Monroe glanced around but didn’t see Talia Mercer. ’She must be busy packing and isn’t back yet.’ She turned and walked toward the hotel lobby; it was just too cold outside.

Watching the car that had just dropped off Melody Monroe drive away, Tommy secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
