Chapter 216: A Need for Awareness
Jasper Rockwell hugged the bouquet of fresh flowers and took a sniff. "Such beautiful flowers! Melody, you wrapped up your scenes today, and I totally forgot to order you a bouquet to celebrate!"
"You don’t have to be so formal." Melody Monroe looked toward Zane Langdon. "Mr. Langdon, thank you for ordering such a huge bouquet for me."
"You’re welcome," Zane Langdon said, his gaze shifting to Jasper Rockwell.
Jasper Rockwell clutched the bouquet, refusing to let go.
’How could Zane Langdon just ask for the flowers back? That would be too awkward.’
He felt it was time to get with the program.
’After all, I took Evan Fairchild’s money. Even if Evan himself isn’t in a hurry, I have to be worthy of this one million.’
’If I keep letting things develop between Zane Langdon and Melody Monroe, Evan Fairchild is going to be completely out of the picture.’
’Zane Langdon’s already sending flowers. What’s next, a love confession?’
"Melody, we’re going to miss you so much," a crew member said, walking over to Melody Monroe.
"I’m going to miss all of you, too." Melody Monroe looked at the people in front of her. They had all grown fond of each other over the past few months. "I hope we have the chance to work together again in the future."
"Yeah, yeah."
More and more people gathered around Melody Monroe, all looking sad to see her go.
Raymond Ford watched this scene from a distance, a cold, contemptuous sneer on his face.
’Melody Monroe won’t be gloating for much longer!’
"Excuse me, which one of you is Miss Monroe?" a voice suddenly called out.
Everyone’s attention was drawn over. Melody Monroe looked in that direction as well. "I’m Melody Monroe."
"Miss Monroe, someone has sent you a gift. Please sign for it."
"A gift?" Melody Monroe was a little surprised. She took the slip from the man’s hand. "Who is it from?"
"The gentleman who sent it said that as soon as you see the gift, you’ll know who it’s from."
Melody Monroe grew even more bewildered. ’So mysterious? What on earth could it be?’
Melody Monroe noticed the man delivering the gift was impeccably dressed in a suit, looking very impressive, which only made her more curious.
"The gift is outside, Miss Monroe. Please, follow me."
Following the man’s lead, Melody Monroe went outside.
As it turned out, he wasn’t the only one delivering the gift.
There were two other men and two women, all wearing the same uniform suits.
The gift had even been delivered in its own dedicated vehicle.
When she saw a gift box taller than she was, Melody Monroe froze completely.
The style of the wrapping was identical to the box Evan Fairchild had put Ian in that day, right down to the bow on top.
Melody Monroe already guessed who had sent it.
’Why would Evan Fairchild choose today of all days to send her a gift? And to the set, no less?’
"Whoa, what kind of gift is that? It’s huge!"
"Melody, hurry up and open it!"
"Yeah! I’m so curious! I really want to see."
A crowd of onlookers had gathered to the side, even more excited than Melody Monroe to see what was inside.
Melody Monroe’s heart, however, was pounding with anxiety. She truly couldn’t imagine what on earth this gift from Evan Fairchild could be.
After all, this was the man who had once put Ian inside a gift box.
"Melody, come on, hurry up and open it!" the people at her side urged again.
It seemed everyone couldn’t wait any longer.
Melody Monroe walked forward and untied the silk ribbon fastened into a bow on the gift box. As soon as she pulled the ribbon free, the sides of the box instantly split into four sections and fell to the ground.
What appeared before her was a bear made of roses.
The bear was taller than a person and stood upright.
Its entire body was composed of fresh red roses.
Jasper Rockwell secretly took out his phone and snapped a picture of the scene. ’Who sent this one? To think of something so creative... If Evan Fairchild doesn’t step up his game, his woman is really going to be stolen away.’
