Chapter 53: He Has a Son
"How did you do it?"
"I had Wendy’s brother get on set. During filming, he used a prop to hurt Melody Monroe and try to ruin her face! That way, she’d never be able to compete with me again!"
Melody Monroe snapped her fingers, put the pocket watch away, and turned to walk to the sink, turning on the tap.
Rhona Hughes snapped out of it instantly, looking around in a daze.
She wasn’t even sure how she had gotten to the restroom. The moment she saw Melody Monroe, a look of disgust flashed across her face.
Melody Monroe finished washing her hands and looked at Rhona Hughes, a small smile playing on her lips. That smile instantly gave Rhona Hughes goosebumps. She felt that Melody Monroe looked incredibly eerie!
"Rhona!" A voice called from outside.
Rhona Hughes quickly headed outside.

Tommy, holding the file from the new investigation, knocked on the door. "President Fairchild, I’ve investigated again. This is the complete file."
Evan Fairchild was reviewing an important email. He looked at the manila envelope in Tommy’s hand, took it, and opened it.
Inside the envelope were several photos of a child.
One at birth, one at age one, and another from his first day of preschool.
The child’s name was Ian Monroe.
Looking at the little boy in the photos, Evan Fairchild’s gaze lingered for a good ten seconds.
He then looked at the documents inside, which contained information about Ian Monroe.
"President Fairchild, the child is indeed Miss Monroe’s. And Miss Monroe did approach Jedediah Scott, but the Scott Family did a paternity test. The child isn’t from the Scott Family, so he has been with Miss Monroe ever since."
"Actually, while we say he’s ’with’ Miss Monroe, in reality, she hasn’t really taken care of the child much. He has never lived with her until recently. After Miss Monroe was injured, she brought the child to her side. He is currently being cared for by a nanny."
"In the past few years, Miss Monroe has not had any intimate relationships with any men."
Evan Fairchild flipped through the documents with a neutral expression. They had even obtained a copy of the paternity test report that Jedediah Scott had done at the hospital.
His gaze fell on the child’s blood type.
Type AB.
So was he.
The child was born on the ninth day of the twelfth lunar month, at 9:48 in the morning.
The timing was just right.
Tommy secretly glanced at Evan Fairchild, not daring to make a sound. ’Is President Fairchild spacing out?’ He had rarely seen such an expression on his boss’s face.
Evan Fairchild opened a drawer and put all the documents inside.
"That’s all. You can get back to work."
"Yes, sir."
Just as Tommy reached the door, Jasper Rockwell pushed it open and walked in.
"Third Young Master," Tommy greeted before stepping out.
Jasper Rockwell studied Evan Fairchild’s expression. He seemed to be in a decent mood, so Jasper immediately walked over. "Evan, I went to the set today. Do you have any idea how furious I was?"
"I don’t know, and I don’t want to hear it."
Jasper Rockwell: ...
"I’m giving you a work report! I’m on your payroll!" Jasper Rockwell strode up to Evan Fairchild and continued, "Melody Monroe is just playing some minor role in this production! It’s a character that gets killed off in the first episode! The second female lead role she was supposed to play was snatched by some actress who bought her way into the cast. And that woman had the gall to demand more scenes for herself!"
Evan Fairchild continued to stare at his email, seemingly not having heard a single word.
"And a kissing scene, no less! With Zane Langdon! She threatened to pull her investment if they didn’t add the scene! With my temper, of course I couldn’t stand for that! I invested in the show right then and there, in your name!"
"Since we’ve invested, can we get Melody Monroe the second female lead role? Or hey, even the main female lead would be fine!"
Evan Fairchild’s gaze finally shifted from the computer screen, locking onto Jasper Rockwell!
