Trinitas Mundus

Episode 8: First Job

The next morning, Ray woke up with his eyes before nightfall.

Because I slept early last night, but today's first work tension seems to have helped me with that too.

(What time is it? That's inconvenient because I don't have a watch. It still looks dark out there, and it could be midnight. But you're not going to be able to sleep anymore)

He starts preparing to make as little noise as possible.

Yesterday, I use the storage magic "Item Box" in an attempt to retrieve the cleaned up armor.

The name Nixwestis (snow coat) appeared next to the armor and Albumcorne (white horn) appeared next to the spear in the item box.

(That was just a weapon with a name on it...... and Nixwestis-Snow Clothes? to, albumcornue-white horn? What... how do you know what that means? I'd rather know the performance than the name, but instead of parameters like attack and defense, it doesn't even list the weight...... that's unfriendly......)

With that in mind, he takes out the “Nixwestis” and wears them. And finally, I took out "Album Cornu”.

By the time I was ready, the eastern sky began to whiten. The time he woke up didn't seem so late at night.

He decided to use his time to breakfast and make a bare gesture outside.

(I get nervous if I haven't done something. Be quiet and bare in your backyard so you don't get annoyed)

When he went out into the backyard, he started barebacking near the stable.

Beginning yesterday morning, he moved better, taking the same orbit as both the spear and the sword thought.

(I'd love to feed you more in mock warfare if possible, but this is the limit on your own. I also want to practice magic but I can't do it here...)

By the time the morning sun rose, Ashley came to the backyard.

"Morning, you're early. Well, you're motivated."

"Morning. I'm not... If I haven't moved my body, I'm very restless..."

We did some light matches, etc., and after breakfast, I received my lunch and then headed to the guild.

The time is 8: 00 a.m.

It should be noted that every two hours there is a bell, so if I hear the bell, I can tell the time, but Ray didn't realize it yesterday.

Entering the Alliance building was full of adventurers and liveliness.

There is a crowd on the bulletin board on which the request form is posted, and requests that appear to have good conditions are stripped away from each other.

"Could I have been late? ♪ And when he hears,

"No, the request you're after isn't popular. Maybe I'll be fine."

When she gradually goes to the bulletin board, she grabs a single requisition sticking there.

The request form says "Crusade for Lizardman around Lake Drameny and Lake Clooney: One reward, 10C (Krona)".

Lizardman is a bipedal lizard sub.

He is less intelligent, but acts in a herd and uses simple tools. From attacking the fishermen of the lake, they are treated as demons.

"Lizardman? You gonna do that?

"Yeah, because Lizardman's crusade isn't popular. Even though the reward is not so great, the skin is strong and there is a risk of damage to the weapon. My sword or your weapon would be fine, but the people who only have cheap weapons will be estranged. Conversely, people with good weapons get better requests for more. That's why it's not popular and it's always left. But just being defensive doesn't make it a big hassle attack, and it's just right for the training opponent"

Lizardman is covered with a scaly hard skin, and the half-breed slaughter is bounced off. Use a crude weapon about a stick, but with sharp hook claws and fangs, hard to insult. However, because the attack was monotonous and hardly coordinated, it was not so bitter for those with some arms.

It is the fishermen who make the requests that do not pay so much, because of the extent of the impact on catches, the low risk to life and the inevitable low reward, among the few.

Ray and Ashley hold that requisition and head to the reception counter.

After handing over the request form to the receptionist, the orb shall be placed on the magic prop and the reception shall be carried out.

Lake Drameny and Lake Clooney are 10 km east of the city of Morton. The two lakes are connected to the hippocampus, and there is a fishing village called Rattley in the crease.

First, we headed to the village of Rattley, where we purchased information from fishermen, and then we decided to head for the crusade.

At a distance of 10 km, he rented a horse and headed for it, arriving in the village after 9 a.m.

The village of Rattley is a small village with half a farm and half a fishery, with about thirty small houses built like huts.

Upon entering the village, it smells like fish from a fishing village, and little children are helping their parents take care of their nets.

If you look closely, it has something like a cat's ear on its head, like a cat's village of the Beast clan.

There were also beasts in the city of Morton, but I didn't see many little children. As a result, Ray was a little excited.

(Kid with cat ears... don't be soothed... it's a really fantastic world...)

It was Ashley tilting her neck when she saw how Ray was doing, but she quickly found the village chief's house and went right in with her voice on, "Let's go," she said.

The village chief's house is somewhat larger than the others, not so big, but this may be just the right size for a small cat family. The conditioning inside is not crude, it looks like a moist village.

A man with fifty ragged cat ears appeared.

"My name is Chiaran and I am the village chief of Rattley Village. We are now looking for someone who is familiar..."

Ray looked at the face of the chief of the Chiaran village,

(There is no “nya” attached to the end of the story... is that obvious? Even if they put "nya” on my father's face, it's a little troublesome... you're welcome for a cute girl to put it on...)

He was thinking that it had nothing to do with the request.

But that's because if I hadn't even thought about this, my feet would tremble in tension and I couldn't move.

Not knowing that, Ashley gave Ray something to say about his lack of tension, but sometimes it was his first request, which he interpreted at will as rising.

Immediately three fishermen from their thirties came to explain.

Listening to them, they said they found five Lizardmans on the west side of the village, on the side of Lake Drameny, complaining that the Lizardmans would steal fish from the nets they planted.

One of the fishermen was to guide us to the place, saying that the place could be reached about enough after crossing the other bank by boat.

Ray and Ashley, the fisherman's coder, get on his little boat and cross Lake Drameny.

There are many reeds and muddy places on the water's edge, but the wind blowing across the lake is refreshing, and coupled with idyllic landscapes, it doesn't feel like there are demons.

When I was rocked by the boat for about half an hour, I arrived on the opposite shore.

The opposite shore has only a few reed-growing shores, which are quickly forested beyond and have no prospects.

We're talking about having a Lizardman in the woods, so with the promise to pick him up once in three hours, we split here with Coder and decided to explore the woods for two.

Ray talks to Ashley nervously, putting up a spear.

"How do we find it? I guess we're not walking around in the dark clouds, are we?

"Oh, look for footprints by the water first. From there, we'll follow that trail and find them."

Look for the water. Twenty minutes, find traces of reeds trampled down.

"Right here. He's definitely a Lizardman because he's a hook and nail. We'll follow in the footsteps with vigilance."

To her words Ray only answers "Copy" and follows behind her.

Footprints follow in the back of the woods, and the amateur can tell there are multiple bodies even if he just saw them.

(They say there are more than five of them, but will they be okay? Ashley would have no problem dealing with a few by herself, but I... no, I'm getting nervous. No, maybe I'm starting to realize...)

He had fears against an enemy he had yet to see, a Lizardman.

The Lizardman in his memory is what wears leather armor and has a spear on the face of a fierce looking lizard that appears in games and cartoons. Ashley's description only says he has about a stick, and he doesn't wear protective gear, but for once, the image stuck to his head is hard to wipe away.

After walking for a while, Ashley sank her body and signaled her to lay low with her left hand.

He said, "What?" I'm going to mouth it, but I'm going to push it to the back of my throat on the verge and lay low to hide myself in the grass bushes at my feet, just like she did.

"We have them ahead of us. Seven."

In front of them, about thirty meters ahead, it looked like a Lizardman, and I could confirm that there were multiple reptiles wrapped around green scales.

Ashley looked at him and laughed niggly,

"Ray, can you magically mount a pre-emptive strike?

"What! Magic... I'll try, but I'm not sure... So, which one do I aim for?

He was suddenly surprised to be told that he was not in a meeting. But when I did what I had to do, I got hungry and asked for my goal.

She was surprised. He didn't mind, pointing to the target Lizardman, and giving instructions, "Target the guy with his back on this one in front of you," she said.

He chooses to use the magic of light, the spear of light, which he was thinking about last night.

He breathed and thought of an image in his head that would collect particles of light, causing a spear of light to appear on his left hand.

He throws that spear of light at her indicated goal, screaming in his heart, "It's done!"

The silent, flying spear of light struck a brilliant target with no speed than I thought, but with my back turned.

"Gear!" cries Lizardman, falling.

The other Lizardmans, who saw the appearance, looked around, and when they found the two, they stormed out, screaming.

"Coming! Ray, can we get another shot! If you can't, come to my right!

Ashley's instructions fly, but Ray was panicking "panicking" when he saw a Lizardman, about two meters tall, come to kill himself, brilliant with a green scale.

"I can't! Let's get out of here! There's a lot of them."

"Now! Now put up your spears! Fight if you don't want to die!

He forcibly moves his trembling body to the word, and spears unbridled.

"Remember when you train! They're just coming straight in! If you look closely, there is no such thing as avoiding!

He doesn't hear the voice at all. His consciousness was turning to a flock of green demon-lizardman coming to kill himself.

His sense of time is going crazy, and he seems to be approaching it over a long period of time, or quickly.

(I can't! I wasn't going to be an adventurer... I wasn't going to rely on Ashley or anything... I'm going to die here)

He keeps his spear pointed forward, eyes open and solidified.

"Ray! They're coming! Fight if you don't want to die!

She sends a cold glance at Ray's pitiful appearance.

(No... I didn't think he was this uncomfortable... but I can't even abandon him... I got an awkward situation...)

She thought he could move a little more, albeit in the first place.

If she's six Lizardmans, she can handle it alone. But when it comes to sheltering him, who can't move at all, the story is different.

Though I invited myself, I learned to be angry at him. And I was feeling even stronger anger at myself for misseeing him.

(It's the basics of mercenaries to grasp the power of their peers. I didn't know you would forget that... you were up, I... survive at all costs. Let them survive......)

She slashes and rips the Lizardman, who has turned to herself as she shakes up the stick, under one knife with that large two-handed sword.

Lizardman falls beside her as she raises the Terminator, but soon the next enemy was approaching.

On the side, Ray, who was shuddering, manages to recover, his hips snapping, but he's holding him back with a spear.

The next Lizardman to show up is waving up the stick just like the first one, but he doesn't go into the dark clouds, takes about three meters and looks at her movements as she raises the intimidating voice of Shah.

"Dear Lizardman, you're so clever!" After shouting, he stuffs the distance at once with a sharp step and puts it through the enemy's throat.

Lizardman can't keep his body attached to the movement, and with the stick shaken up, he is slashed and torn in the throat, sprinkled with red blood and falls.

Soon as the two enemies appeared to surround her, she returned to her original position in the backstep and brought them into the form of confrontation with the two again.

Ray was prepared for his death and was going to give up.

But when I saw Ashley's scornful eyes beside me, I decided to scratch my feet that I couldn't die like this.

(I can't believe I could see it with those eyes... really pity... didn't Ashley break a lot of bones for me? Whose fault is she in a predicament! We need to at least make sure Ashley can get away with it......)

He starts waving his spear as he moves.

Fortunately, Lizardman, who came to him, was alert to the spear's range of attack and had stopped at a distance. If they'd just barged in like that, they probably wouldn't have had his life. But that hesitation gave him little time to recover.

He forgets his movements in training, just puts a thrust into the dark clouds, and never hits his enemies.

Still, his spear is sharp and, coupled with the blade that went out to the cross beside the tip of his ear, does not give Lizardman a gap to step into.

As we continue to fight like that, we gradually regain our calm.

(I can do it! They're afraid of me too. Hang on! What did Ashley say? Remember when you trained!

He said, "Yaaaa!" He puts in a sharp thrust with the temper, and attacks his neck in the form of a tweezer immediately after the thrust is sent.

A sharp thirty cm tip injures Lizardman's neck.

Though the deep wound could not be caused, the sight lit a fire of hope in his heart.

(Hit it! If you attack calmly, you hit it, and it works. Next, a double penetration, and…)

He instantly checks the left and right to identify Ashley's position and that of the enemy.

Turning out that there was no enemy beside him and Ashley was in a slightly lowered position, he put a double penetration into the enemy in the front and then shoved off his feet.

Lizardman on the front ate a double penetration and was knocked off his leg, so he fell over and Lizardman, on Ashley's right side, was to be exposed to defenseless sides. He puts a poke in the flank of that Lizardman.

The enemy stabbed in the side screamed and lowered, and in that gap Ashley slashed off the arm of the other enemy.

Seeing that look, Ray was a little alarmed.

The moment the last one had his front empty, he burst into it.

Physically, Lizardman is bigger, so he was closer to the body than to a stick blow, but he gets the attack and gets blown away behind him.

For a moment, I can catch my breath "gushing” and chase the blurred vision with more sticks.

The swinging stick hit him directly on the shoulder as he swept around the right ear of his helmet. But his sturdy shoulders aren't even dented.

(Ouch! My ears hurt more than my shoulders. Does it hurt so much to have protective equipment...... damn! We're too close in time to use the spear... and there's no clearance to pull out the sword...)

Lizardman's move to shake the stick up again abruptly stops.

A silver blade was protruding from its belly.

Looks like Ashley unleashed a poke at me from behind, aiming at the defenseless back of the Lizardman who was attacking him.

The handwounded Lizardmans are losing their will, but Ashley pulls out her sword, approaches her unwrought, and stabs a stop.

Having defeated all the Lizardmans, she sat down on the spot, breathing on her shoulders.

(Did you manage to help... Ray was the same at the end. What to do now...... suddenly I have a thing for letting you fight too. See how things go a little more...... but can you calmly see about him, I...)

"Ray! What was that fight earlier! Special training when I get home! We're going to retrieve the Demon Stone and go home!

He couldn't understand the word. Because those eyes of hers clearly expressed a willingness to discern.

"Still, will you stay with me? Even such a wretched man..."

"I'm sorry never again. So, this is happening! Have a good fight next time. If you want to stand beside me, get ready!

After she uttered the word, she suddenly embarrassed herself.

(If you want to stand beside me... what am I talking about? Things go crazy with Ray......)

She stands up silently and sees how his wounds are.

"You don't have a big scratch. My ears will hurt, but they're just red and swollen. My shoulders shouldn't be anything thanks to my protective gear. But I didn't know that blow wouldn't even scratch me..."

After thanking him, he asks her if she is injured,

"With an attack like Lizardman, you don't get hurt."

After I said that,

"If you can stand, take the Demon Stone and get out of here. The smell of blood may invite another demon."

He stood up with his tired body supported by a spear.
