Trinitas Mundus

Episode X: Original Magic

The next morning, Ray picked up the morning with a neat wake.

(I was worried about what would happen the next day after the magic ran out, but it seemed like I was worried)

The weather was still good today, I received the morning sun plugging in through the wooden window and woke up with the dawn, so I put my gear on and headed into the backyard.

Rarely, Ashley is not there, and she repeats her bare gestures by herself.

Being alone for about half an hour, Ashley appeared sleepy.

"Morning, it's late today. Maybe I was too worried about you yesterday to sleep?

"No, I just drank a little too much. Sweat and it'll be easier soon. If your body warms up, do you want to do a mock fight?

After her body warms up, she begins a mock fight with a wooden sword and a wooden stick.

Is the spear still better compatible or even more so than yesterday?

"Again, spears are better. How many skill levels have you got?

"I can't see my skills... I don't know why..."

"Well, I don't care. When it feels like a match, it would be something like twenty to thirty. It's a soldier level enough."

Ashley, a mercenary, pushes his heart beat, making him feel a little easier.

(You should still be asked to crusade demons today. It makes me feel better even if I flatter you before that. Let's try not to show anything unusual today)

The two of us sweat for about half an hour, and we'll still be knocking around the guild's entrance at 8: 00 a.m. today.

As yesterday, there was a crowd on the bulletin board.

He wonders what kind of request he intends to take, and asks Ashley,

"I'm going for the big guy today. They said there was a grey bear out near Rattley Village that went yesterday. I'm going after him. Maybe we'll be staying in Rattley Village today"

He wondered why he was staying and asked why,

"Grey bears have a wide range of actions. It's divided by the lake, so there's a lot of distance to travel. Now go, and if you're lucky, you'll find a clue or two, you better think about it."

I think he is like that, but I remember and convinced him of Matagi's story.

(With that said, I've heard that Matagi goes into the mountains for days. Even with a dog. Then I guess it's a mistake to think we can find a bear in a day without tracking means)

He was a little mistaken. Unlike the demons of this world, basically Japanese bears are cowardly creatures. But the demons and beasts of this world aggressively attack people, and they rarely escape and hide.

You can hunt demons without hounds because they attack on their own from the other side, not because the adventurers of this world are better at fighting foes than hounds.

The request form for the Gray Bear Crusade was ”Crusade for Gray Bears Around Lake Drameny and Clooney: One Reward, Hundred C (Krona)" and was fairly well paid.

He wonders why he stays when this is all the reward and asks Ashley why.

Her answer is that gray bears are demons equivalent to level five - demons that need level five adventurers one-on-one - and usually six to eight people need about level six adventurers in middle places, about seven or eight in the run.

If you multiply it by just that many people for two days, it's not very good for a hundred C reward. Even more so, the Grey Bear's defense is pretty high and the attack with the bow doesn't work very well, so he says it's safer and better to target less defensive demons and beasts for the same amount of reward.

Then when I asked why the reward wouldn't go up, I got the answer that it was simply because I couldn't give it any more.

In other words, if it's about the size of Rattley Village, the reward of 100C per hit is the limit, and even driving out a larger beast like a gray bear won't last long, as the same amount of demons or beasts will soon enter.

(I see, when requests are decreasing, they come to crusade naturally. If there is no damage by then, is it your idea to raise the reward without stopping if there is about to be damage?)

The two headed to the reception counter with the requisition slip in their hands.

From the adventurers who watched Ray yesterday, seen with cold eyes, Ashley ignored it and sat at the counter.

The receptionist was Ethel, who registered me for Ray, with a worried face,

"I think it's rude, but isn't Master Ashley a little overloaded for Master Ray, anyway? Looks like you were pretty tired yesterday, and a slightly easier request would be better..."

Ashley blocked the words along the way,

"I'm fine. I appreciate you worrying, but Ray's convinced too. Will you accept me soon?"

I offer my orb slightly grumpy.

Ethel is unable to say anything more and will keep quiet about the reception work.

When the reception was over, Ashley stood up immediately, and Ray thanked Ethel for what he was worried about, then followed Ashley, leaving the guild.

The Ethel left behind is:

(Are you sure you're okay? I don't think she'll make a mistake in judgment, but as far as yesterday's condition goes, I don't think she'll make it back safely...)

She immediately immersed herself in the reception work after staring at the entrance where the two had left.

Ray and Ashley borrowed their horses again and headed to Rattley Village.

Repeat the same process as yesterday, purchasing information from the Chiaran village chief, but there was no particular clue. Ashley starts walking towards the nearby woods for now.

Ray stopped her from walking and started telling her what came to mind.

"I just thought about it, okay..."

He first suggested going to the battlefield with Lizardman yesterday.

The reason is I don't know how good the grey bear's nose is, but if you smell all that blood, why don't you go eat Lizardman's body?

Even if you haven't, I was wondering if it might come close.

"Maybe so, but on the contrary, there could be another carnivorous demon lurking. Um, I don't think there's any more demons than gray bears, so why don't you go that way?"

Visit the village chief's house again and have it handed over to the other shore just like yesterday.

I magically give a signal on my way home, so when I saw it, I told him I wanted him to pick me up, and he went into the woods.

He arrived at the scene of yesterday's battle with Lizardman at 10 a.m.

All the bodies of Lizardman were devoured, some of them like the bite marks of a large demon.

"Apparently you were already here. He eats only the guts of Lizardman's body and leaves the meat covered in hard skin intact. There's a good chance he's still lurking around here..."

The two find the bear's footprints and carefully begin tracking them. The bear is lost to the water or back in the woods, but apparently, he was near the water.

Ashley pulled out her sword, noting the footsteps,

"Don't get distracted. I think I'm gonna be around here. Magically launch a pre-emptive attack. He has faster legs than he looks. You don't have to be greedy the second time."

He nods, spears, and walks behind her.

After enough, I discovered a giant bear drinking water on the lake shore.

The bear, covered in gray fur, was about twenty meters away from them and was a big man over three meters long.

And I notice two people approaching right away.

Stand up on your hind legs with a low growl. And he was trying to bow his head and get into the pushing position.

Ray activated the magic of the arrows of light he practiced yesterday.

An arrow of white, dazzling light flies as it accelerates toward the face of the grey bear.

The bear didn't think of it as so threatening, he just shook his head annoyingly and tried to avoid it, never interrupting the advance.

The arrow of light hangs on its face and changes its orbit.

I know it's a total mess, but the arrow of light was poking deep into the bear's right eye.

The arrow enters about half the length - about 20 cm - and disappears like a shattered scatter.

The grey bear cramped hard and then stopped moving.

Apparently, the tip of the arrow reached the brain and died instantly.

He said, "Huh? Over?" he raises his voice and looks at Ashley.

(The one called Critical Hit... and in action though... could be a guy named Beginners Rack...)

She was also stunned, and while she felt something missing, she was wary that the grey bear would not rise again.

"Apparently, you're really dead. Did you aim for the eye?... but this isn't gonna be training... by the way, is it okay if you're out of magic?

for her to ask with a bitter smile,

"I aimed at your face... it looks like the magic runs out okay. I think I lost my magic because I was shooting many shots at the magic of thunder yesterday. I feel like I can shoot 20 or 30 shots with this arrow of light."

Ashley approached the grey bear carefully, shaking her head as she shrugged, and entered the collection of the Demonic Crystal Stone.

Ray thought about the possibility that the bear was taking a pseudo, watching her in a position to put it in support at any time.

The grey bear still seemed to be out of breath and was able to safely retrieve a large demonic crystal stone about three cm in diameter.

Ray decided to try the fire attribute magic in order to call the pick-up ship.

Imagine fireworks, launch fireballs, and then imagine the magic that explodes in the air.

(I want to launch with a fireball and then make sure it explodes over the sky, but how do I do that? Gunpowder is unlikely to keep up with the Spirit even if I imagine it... and if I launch balls of air with it... I wonder if they heat it up on fire and it won't expand... hmmm that could suddenly explode. Try it with an image that explodes in the air without thinking about it)

He gives up thinking and thinks of images of fireworks as clear as possible so that they can be understood by the Spirit of Fire.

In about twenty seconds a fireball is formed on your left hand, and when you wave your hand up to launch it, that fireball rises toward the sky, Hulhul.

And it bounced “bread” higher than the height of the tree, spreading to about the size of a commercial launch fireworks.

Sometimes the bright hours of the day mean that the fireflowers don't look pretty, but there are clouds of white smoke floating above them.

(I could, but you're poorer than I thought. I may be just fine instead of wolf smoke...)

He was unsatisfied because he had imagined a little bigger fireworks.

But Ashley, watching beside him, was flabbergasted that a loud noise had occurred after that slow movement.

(What's that? I thought you were going to launch a normal "fireball" but I didn't know you could even make a sound... if you use it well in a night raid, you could confuse your enemies...)

She remembered her time as a mercenary and immediately realized the efficacy of this first-time seeing magic.

"What's the magic now? Is that original, too?

"Oh, I was wondering if there should be a sound to get you noticed. That was a bit pungent for you. The fire was supposed to open a little bigger..."

"I'd rather not show much magic right now either. It's pretty rare, and it can be used for surprise attacks, so it could be a pain in the ass when the military finds out"

He ceases to speak in that language.

(It was just meant to be fireworks... no explosive magic? You can't use original magic until you think about it.)

Coder's ship picked him up after a while.

"What was that earlier? I've never seen it before."

Ray laughs bitterly and makes an excuse that "magic has failed".

And as Ashley changes the subject,

"I defeated the gray bear. I shot him in the eye, so he's barely scratched, and if you help me carry him, I'll bounce the rent."

In that word, the coder said, "Have you defeated him yet!" I was surprised and immediately said, "Could you wait an hour! Because I'm going to call everyone," he said, hurrying back to the village.

Faster than promised, in about forty minutes the fishermen came to shore.

The grey bear weighed nearly a ton and struggled considerably, but arrived safely in the village. I made a completion report to the village chief and asked him if he would pick up the grey bear.

"Is it a gray bear... it's a big guy, and how about a piece of gold, a hundred C (krona)?

Ray doesn't know the market, so he says to Ashley, "I'll leave it to you," and he looks aside.

After a brief thought, she accepted. I paid twenty silver coins and twenty C's to the fishermen who helped me, leaving the village behind.

The request was completed sooner than I thought and I decided to conduct magic training in the same woods as yesterday.

Ray is stabbed with a nail by Ashley saying, "Be careful not to run out of magic."

He also started practicing magic, laughing, "I won't do a streak like yesterday".

(Let's practice the magic of trees and dirt today...)

He wondered if the magic of the tree attribute could make the roots of the tree a weapon.

(Grow the roots of the trees rapidly and stick them up from the bottom. If you stiffen the tip, wouldn't it replace the spear...)

He thinks of the way the roots of a tree grow. Images are microvelocity images of plants growing. Once upon a time, a forest tree I saw on TV brings to mind footage of a documentary that captures you growing up.

From his feet, the roots of the tree crawled out with Uneune, but not as fast as I thought, and when I touched it, it was a soft root of normal hardness.

(Can't it be done on a spear... if you let it move freely, can't it be a restraint? Imagine moving freely...... eating plants, no, there must be plant-based demons in this world. Imagine that...)

He activated the magic again.

The roots of the tree crawl out just like they did earlier, but the speed is to the extent that the snake moves, not yet fast enough to restrain people.

(Speed up... you're wrong to ask a plant for instantaneous power. instantaneous power? Right, if you add "do” and let it go...)

Make the roots of the trees bow and use the recoil. Then he made the sound of pisci, and the roots stretched out in a whip-like momentum.

(Success! The rest is to make it winding hardness and, after that, if it can be cured rapidly, it becomes a fairly effective magic. Especially in the woods...... need to see to what extent it works, but let's stop with this today)

Next, I thought about whether the magic of earthly attributes could make a pitfall.

The image is cracked. Communicate the image of breaking the ground to the Spirit of the earth.

(Cracks on the ground... Images of the ground moving... whoops!

An earthquake occurred, not a crack, when the ground conveyed the moving image to the Spirit.

Localized, but with a thrusting earthquake, the magical Ray himself got his buttocks on with that vibration.

Ashley, who was watching, was also surprised by the shake and said, "Are you okay!" He shouts.

He answers, "It's okay," as the bat looks bad, paying off the dirt, standing up.

(This could be used unexpectedly. I don't know how hard ground you can use it, but if you can tumble your opponent, the subsequent expansion will be quite advantageous... but when trying new magic, you might get hurt if you don't pay attention)

Still, I felt like I could go magically, but I didn't want Ashley to worry, so I decided to stop with this.

(Still, it'll be about three o'clock, so I wonder if I can train spears and swords after this. Whatever it takes, I want to be alone soon)

They went back to the city.
