Lesson 10: Mercenaries and Assassins

Thirty minutes went by in no time, such as talking about Stella's gear.

Alliance officials appear and are guided to the basement of the training ground behind them.

(Morton, you're almost with me where I fought Middle-Ghost Orc)

As we descend underground, a 20m square arena appears.

"Have them fight the little ghost Goblin. I heard it was a high level, so I kept it a cheap goblin."

(Level 43, so it's as strong as any veteran mercenary there. Sure doesn't change that you won't be opponent in orcs or goblins)

Ashley will explain to Stella what will be done now. It was Stella listening in silence, but the first time she asked me a question when she told me she was going to have me fight goblins here.

"What should I do with that goblin? Will it keep you from hurting like a pair?

When Ashley says, "Kill without help," he nods small.

Stella walks into the middle of the arena.

The door in front of her opened and a small figure popped up less than a hundred and fifty cm tall.

The figure was an ugly figure with a belly protruding into his short hands and feet, a small horn growing on his forehead and green skin like blue and black.

Goblin has a stick-like wooden stick in his hand, swinging it around, heading towards Stella.

Stella doesn't even stand until Goblin gets close to her, and she stares at it.

Did Goblin think he was in the range of sticks, pulling the stick wide back like a baseball bat and swinging it out all at once trying to slap Stella? The stick arcs loudly, approaching Stella.

Stella stepped sideways just before the stick hit and disappeared from Goblin's view.

They took her body to the stick, and the fluttering goblins lost sight of her.

Stella stood right behind the goblin looking at Kyolokiolo and left and right.

And when I was pulling it out, I stick my dagger behind Goblin's neck.

Stella jumped right back and set up her sword for the first time.

Goblin couldn't even scream without seeing that stellar figure. And without raising the blood splash, he fell quietly.

Watching that battle, Ray, Ashley and three guild officials lost their voices.

(I thought it was fast, but I didn't know this much. And that hesitant attack at all. It's more like Assassin the Assassin than a swordsman...)

(Doesn't make you raise your voice, doesn't leave a smell of blood... sounds like Luke's assassination squad move to hear rumors. Sure it's strong, but will it be accepted by ”our” mercenaries...)

The Alliance staff returns to me first and instructs me to wait at the reception because I have passed.

Ray and Ashley finally returned to me with the words and picked up Stella.

"Brilliant! Stella, you're really strong."

Stella is quietly bowing her head to the words.

(Stella's tail is shaking a little. Are you happy?)

Ray thought so, but her expression doesn't look good in the dim underground arena. But he praised Stella with a full smile so that he could express his emotions at all.

Next to Ray, who praised him innocently, Ashley was worried about what to do.

(If we continue to fight the way we are now, there may be rumors. The story of Luke's Beast Troop is half legendary. If it spreads too widely, you might get curious and find it hard to stay... maybe it would be better for Stella to remember her legitimate swordsmanship)

Upon return to the reception, the process of promotion to grade IX took place immediately.

Return from the Mercenary Guild to the Deodard Chamber of Commerce and exit the city in search of an inn.

When I left the Chamber of Commerce, I told Morkley I was taken care of.

"Thank you for drawing on the will of the Great Master. By the way, what are you going to do now?

"Even tomorrow for Fonce, I'm going to leave. Fonce also has Ash's home, and so I thought I'd take a moment to think about what's coming."

Morkley heard the words Marcutt and his parents' home, the surnames of Ashley,

"Hello, Master Ashley, are you from Red Arms' … excuse me, Captain Markat's family?

When Ashley answers that she is Hamish Markat's daughter,

"Did you! I beg your pardon."

Morkley gets a little excited and mutters, "I didn't know you were the lady of the famous Marcut Corps Commander......"

Ashley hardens her expression a little.

The three said goodbye to Morkley and went looking for an inn.

"Ash's father is a celebrity. And what do you mean," Red Arms ”?

I'm going to answer Ray's words, which I ask innocently, to the blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.

"Oh, my father (the captain) is quite famous in Lax. Ask your parents about the Red Arms. Everybody knows the story."

(Is that it? Something to worry about... maybe Ash's independence to get away from his dad too? On second thought, you're a super celebrity kid. Maybe they've been calling me Captain Markat's daughter since I was a kid...)

"Ash, if you've touched me, I apologize. It was a bit frivolous. I'm so sorry."

Ray turns in front of Ashley and lowers his head deeply.

"I don't care...... no, I was the one who was sorry. Ray doesn't know..."

(That's right. It has nothing to do with Ray. Being the only daughter of the Marcut Mercenary Corps, the leader of the "Red Arms”... is still restless when it comes to this story. If we were as far away as Morton, we would have stayed calm even talking about the regiment......)

Walk behind the two of them, Stella sees how it goes, but she just follows without saying anything in particular.

The accommodation was not a luxury hotel where Deodard and I stayed, but made it an affordable accommodation for mercenaries taught in the mercenary guild.

On the front desk, he said, "Is this a three-person room? Or three rooms for one? Asked."

Ray, who had no idea, said, "Please wait a minute," and started consulting with Ashley and Stella.

"What do we do? You can have three rooms per person, two rooms and one room."

"Right. As far as I'm concerned... heh, I'd rather have a room for two and a room for one..."

Suggest a room for two and a room for one, while Ashley moves away a little.

Stella doesn't know what she's talking about, and she doesn't say anything.

"But then only Stella will be alone. Ash and Stella staying in the room for two?

"Oh, that won't be there. And naturally, me and Ray are in a room for two..."

Stella's appearance caught my eye when Ashley said that much.

(Right. Only Stella should be alone... not less ”today”)

"What about today (...) in a three-person room? Tomorrow you just have to think again tomorrow."

(We were together in a room of four, so I don't care, but I don't know about the situation where two women have one man... If you can't resist the Harlem system, it must be a good situation, because you didn't originally have any female relationships... Ash is enough... I can't tell Stella that, and I get a sigh of sigh... but on second thought, is this what you call a "rear charging” guy...)

"... right. Shall we? I want to talk to you today, and it's just fine..."

We decided to rent a three-person room and it was only around 4pm and early hours, so the three of us go to the backyard and sweat in training.

After dinner, the three of us decided to discuss the future.

I think Ray has a lot to think about and suggests, "Let's think about it one at a time".

"What are we going to do first tomorrow, huh? It's a good decision to go to Fonce."

Ashley nods, but Stella just listens in silence and doesn't react.

When Ray asks if Stella can do that too, Stella answers that she will follow any decision she makes because she will just follow the Rays. Ray laughs bitterly at the words, but decides to move on.

"I'm going to Ash's home on Fonce. This is good, too, right? I don't know what to do at Ash's parents' house. Ash, any thoughts?

"I'm going to ask the captain to make it a temporary member. Our mercenary regiments are often escorted by relatively large merchants. It would be less annoying for everyone if we let them join us."

"I see. Shall we go with that? Well, it's Stella's gear, but I'm not sure. I want you to let me know what Ash thinks."

Ashley borrows Stella's dagger and pulls through slurrily.

"Daggers aren't so bad stuff. This dagger is enough to get to Fonce because you can get something you'd rather buy at Fonce than buy it here at Croix. Stella, take your clothes off."

Ray panics about the word.

"Ko, are you taking it off here? What!"

Ashley is stunned by the way Ray surprises her.

"What are you panicking about? Just check the chain shirt."

When Stella takes off her jacket, she halfway sees a chain shirt shaped like a t-shirt. Underneath, he wears a faux brown wool textile shirt, but fits his body, clearly showing the lines of a feminine body.

(I thought this would happen. Ash doesn't seem to mind, but I do. Still, it's out there, and it's creepy where it's creepy. You have a surprisingly good style, Stella too (...)...)

Ray was in a panic but in a man's sexuality, looking closely at Stella's body.

Ashley doesn't realize his thoughts like that and keeps talking.

"Well, that's a lot of stuff. Where'd you get that? Did Lord Deoddard say anything?

Ray had no idea, but it seemed like a pretty good product, and Ashley got a little excited and asks Stella questions early on in the arrow.

"No, it's Ars. It was made at the Dwarf store, and he said it was engineered to make no noise."

"I see. Surely this fine workmanship, Dwarf's, would also be at the hands of quite a few celebrities"

Ashley checks the chain's connections with her fingers.

"Have you ever worn leather armor? If you put leather armor on top of that, what's the problem?

"Yes, because inside it was leather armor. This chain shirt is light, so if the leather armor is light, I don't think there's a problem."

Ashley arms up, thinking.

(Is there a limit around the chest, hips, shoulders, hands, and shins on the chain shirt? Still defensive enough. Foot circumference......)

She was wondering what kind of protective gear she would like to take advantage of Stella's speed in battle style.

(Sounds like something fun, Ash. I guess you like this. On second thought, except for me, I've been in combat training since I was a kid... if men and women are the opposite, a princess to be protected by two knights would be helpful, I...)

Looking at the two of them, Ray thought it was irrelevant that his knowledge, experience, would not help Ashley.

"All right! Tomorrow morning I'm going to go get my leather armor in order. I'll buy it back on Fonce, but you should get used to it soon. Ray, are you listening?"

I was thinking of something else. Ray wasn't listening to Ashley.

"I'm sorry. What are you doing tomorrow?

"I'm going to go get Stella's protective gear. I said I'd buy some real gear here so I could get used to it."

"Copy that. So do you feel like we're getting all our gear together tomorrow morning and leaving for the next city if we can afford it?

Ashley nodded and his plans for tomorrow were confirmed.

"We'll split the room from tomorrow. I'm gonna rent three rooms for one, so what do you say?

Ray looks at Ashley and tells her that she should sleep alone in her room.

She also seemed to understand, "Right. I like that," I tried to finish that story.

"Then I can't protect you both. Can't it be in the same room?

I couldn't finish the story with a word from Stella.

"If me and Ash are in the inn, we don't need an escort. Because he's not a merchant like Mr. Deoddard who can't fight, he's a mercenary."

"So what should I do?

"You just need to get some rest. Hey, Ash?

"Oh, yeah. The city between Croix and Fonce is full of safe cities. You can rest in the inn."

"I can rest my body...... ok. But if you need anything, I'll rush right away. Rest assured."

In Stella's serious eyes, they were looking at each other and dropping their shoulders disappointingly that they might not even be able to do it in one room.

"I guess that's about it. What are you gonna decide?

"No, there's something I have to tell Stella"

Ashley sat in front of Stella and started talking.

"Your way of fighting may not be acceptable to the mercenaries. I'm not telling you not to fight the way you fight now. We'd better show them how to fight a little more normally, how to stand up properly, how to slay and lay low our enemies."

Ray didn't know what Ashley was talking about.

Stella also didn't know what that way of fighting meant.

"You mean not the way we fought today? I looked like I chose the best way to win for sure..."

"I'm not sure what Master Ashley meant. If you take the stand, you will expose your hands to the enemy. Slash him so he can lay low, and he'll be bleeding back, and you can't defeat him for sure. What should I do?

Ashley is roaring a little too if she can't put it to words well.

"Um, right, what can I say... I was born a mercenary. Mercenaries are paramount to survive. So I can be taught to use any hand to survive. But the way Stella fought wasn't the way I knew mercenaries to fight..."

"Sure, he seems to be killing without any hesitation, and I thought he sounded like an assassin too, but why not? I'm sorry to say, but if you're a regular knight who's going to say square or something, if you're a mercenary with survival as your number one priority, isn't that okay?

Ashley will explain what to say and what to say to separate words.

"I can't say it well, but it's heterogeneous... maybe I can say“ cold "I don't feel like a person. It seems so, the way Stella fought... I didn't say it was bad. If my life were on the line, everyone would admit it. But I don't know what to say..."

(I wonder what Ash cares? Maybe you want Stella to have a hard time blending into mercenaries? Ash is a born mercenary. So when you find out what the mercenaries think... you know best the temperament of a mercenary regiment, especially at home...)

"I kind of figured it out. When you show them how to fight now with training or something, you mean you can't blend in with the mercenaries?

With Ray's words, Ashley also finally fell to her heart.

"Oh, yeah. Not in action. But if I show you that way of fighting in training, it might seem like something you can't handle."

Stella listened to the two of them and looked anxious, but she had no idea what she was capable of. Only anxiety spread in my mind that it might annoy both of us.

"So what do I do? I don't know another way to fight. What can I do..."

"Right...... Ray, you said you wanted to raise your long sword arm too. If you train with Stella, Stella will learn how to fight normally, and you will get a good training opponent. What do you think?

"I think it's a good idea. Stella, let's go with that tomorrow."

Although Ray said so brightly, he was anxious that he could be taught by Stella.

Two men were staring at the Rays entering the inn.

"Tell your head. They said they went into the inn..."

One man slowly leaves the scene.

The remaining man watched the inn entrance with casual tricks.
