Trinitas Mundus

Episode 46: Future Policy

Around 4pm on March 1st.

The ritual of summoning the Dark God (Noctis) using Luna, the son of the Moon, ended in failure, and Luna was heavily wounded by the Spirit "When". As a result, he remained unconscious, even though there were no physical abnormalities.

The carriage departing Rowni is running for Luberna, the capital of the Demon Nation - a generic name for the Moon Demon Nation, the Winged Demon Nation, the Black Demon Nation and other winged demons.

Ray was in Luna's carriage with Ashley and Stella. He has always held Luna's hand while on the move and has repeatedly spoken in Japanese. However, there were only a few signs of awakening of something.

The moon witch Elise Nortia and her immediate subordinate Varma Niska stared at the figure. The two were concerned about Luna's relationship with Ray, but now they were packing details about their treatment policy after they returned to the capital.

"I will use the clergy that I planned to use for the ritual of divine descent. If you go on a night filled with the power of the Dark God (Noctis), God will help you."

Though Varma snorts at the words of Elis, she is concerned about the effects of the ritual of divinity that she forcibly went to.

"Is Master Elise's magic okay? This ritual is a very difficult one. Unless Elise is in perfect condition, it doesn't necessarily lead to unexpected things."

Mass magic using magic formations, but basically the magic and theory you do individually remains the same. That is, the surgeon conveys the magical image he wants to exercise while giving magic to the Spirit, and the Spirit embodies the phenomenon.

The difference is the amount and quality of magic you give.

Many magicians send magic to magicians who exercise magic, and the magicians more efficiently and massively impart magic to the Spirit. This allows us to exercise a massive amount of magic that cannot be done by a single magician.

However, the operator becomes a bottleneck and cannot send in a large amount of magic at a time. As a result, it could be a ritual that spanned several hours, or even days.

Varma was concerned about this and about Ealis, who was not feeling well enough, partitioning the ritual.

"I don't know what you're talking about. But I don't have time right now. It should be quicker to repair your son's spirit. If you take the time, we'll be late to save you. Dreaming that you might want to protect yourself…"

Elise thought Luna was making something hard shell in her heart to protect her own spirit, and dreaming conveniently of herself in it. I am guessing this from the results of human experiments in the Temple of Darkness in the past, and I believe that the probability is high.

"Would you like me to join you in that ritual?"

Ray suddenly joined the conversation.

Elise hesitates to show the outsiders the rituals that belong to the secret, but rethinks them immediately.

"Well... maybe you should join us because your bond with your son seems strong. What do you think, Varma?

Varma told the story, but I can't hide my surprise at the word to show Ray, who was the enemy, the ritual that has until now even been kept secret by his fellow countrymen. Furthermore, I was surprised that Elise had asked herself for her opinion, which she had never heard from her subordinates.

But soon he switches his head and begins to think about the necessity of Ray's participation in the ritual.

(As Elise says, there is a strong bond between the white sorcerer and your son. Besides, this man is a magical genius. If something unforeseen happens, we should be able to deal with it. I disagree with the clerics if there is a concern, but that should be suppressed by Master Ealis and I......)

Varma replies yes, but adds that we need to keep an eye on the rebellion of the clergy.

"Right. So did Maryana, but the clerics disagree... rituals don't succeed unless everyone's heart is one. But you better have Lord Ray... what can I do?

"Why don't you hypnotize me and add me to the ritual? Explain that I, Luna's old friend, have a better chance of speaking up. [M] Besides, if I have no problem joining the ritual because I am speaking of Lord Ehrlis, I wonder if it is rarely opposed."

Elise and Varma nodded loudly after they looked at each other.

"Sure, that's a good idea. Hypnosis fits better than a puppet because they're listening to the conversation earlier. When it comes to peace of mind because I'm hypnotizing, no one suspects. Varma, you keep your mouth shut, too."

"Nevertheless, you just say," White Master, "Lord Ray said.

Ray's face turns red on Varma's words. Varma was uncomfortable to see how it went.

(From what I've heard about the battle, I thought you were a cold-blooded plotter, but you're like someone else. Or maybe there's a personality change or something?

The thoughts are not put to the mouth, and we proceed with the administrative story.

"How about Lord Ashley, Stella, and Uno? I think you need some kind of disguise to be with Lord Ray."

"Right. How about Lord Ashley and Lord Stella are just like Lord Ray? I think the Unos are free to move as long as Varma grew up on the West Side. I don't know, Lord Ray."

Ashley disagrees with Ehlis' suggestion that "Ray has trouble expecting me to act, anyway".

"Right. Ash may be difficult because the roots are honest. I'd be in trouble if I had a borough somewhere... yes! I wonder if Ash and Stella mean Luna's personal escort. If Luna trusts you, you can't keep her away from me, I don't suppose that's a lot of doubt."

"That's fine, but it sounds like you're saying I'm a single cell. Well, I can't deny it."

As Ashley swells her cheeks in dissatisfaction, a grin appears on Rays' face. Stella is slightly concave that she can't do it as well as admire Ashley's care.

(Again, I'm no match for Master Ashley. Lady Ray is stuck so deliberately like that... I can't...)

Varma looked at the smiling sight and remembered Keira riding in the carriage behind her.

"You have to stop talking to Keira, what will you do?"

"Right. Keira's about to wake up and it's not weird, and I'm gonna take a break and see how it goes. If you do some healing magic then you might wake up."

And when Elise said so, he commanded his lord to park the carriage.

"The swing of the carriage will damage your child. And I want to see how Keira is, so please stop it for once."

The man immediately parked the carriage and opened the door with humility.

As Elise went to the carriage behind her, Varma bowed her head to the Rays.

"What's wrong, all of a sudden," said Ray, surprised.

"I hadn't conveyed my thanks to you guys yet. And an apology," he began to say.

"Thank you for helping your son and Elise. And I apologize for hurting your people."

Ashley and Stella were circling their eyes at the behavior. Especially because Stella felt Varma was a high priest in the Temple of Darkness and considered people as tools, as did the priests of the Light Divinity.

Did Varma refresh herself by making an apology, which also shattered her tone?

"Not only Master Elise, but I was also influenced by the Nothingness (Vanitas). I was reminded of a bunch of crazy things when the magic came back and my head cleared. The weirdest thing is that I ignored your child's will..."

Varma speaks frankly of the questions she feels.

"... I don't know how long I've been under Vanitas influence. Probably, but I think it has had a little less impact since I spent time with your child. When I grabbed your son from you, I didn't doubt it would do that one good. But I've changed my mind a little bit since I crossed Aquila and entered Sokius..."

Even Stella, who was critical of Varma's candid words, is listening.

"... this is a disgusting way of saying it, but at first I thought your son was a very normal girl. I respected him only by the name of" Son of the Moon "... I think he was disappointed somewhere in his heart. It entered Sochius, and when I saw your son against the ghost tribe, I gradually remembered Sochius' ideals, too. Given that, this Western invasion operation at the expense of the ghost tribe is incompatible with Sokius' ideals. And the ideals of Sochius, which your son preaches, aroused suspicion in my mind. The more I resent even Master Elis..."

Ray doesn't know how much the relationship between Varma and Ellis is. But the fact that the demonic clan close to the religious state was repugnant to the "Moon Witch," the chief of the sacrifice, shocked him enormously.

"... at some point that was once again disappearing my objection to Master Elis. There was nothing that would have inspired me if I thought about it now... but I think Vanitas put his hand on my heart again after the influence of Nothingness (Vanitas) disappeared by your son. Thinking about it, I wonder if Noctis and Vanitas were fighting for the right of initiative in your son..."

After Varma finished talking, none of the Rays opened their mouths.

(I think Tsuji fits what this guy is saying. Lord Elise and Lord Varma are not particularly strange people right now. But when I listen to you, I forcibly abduct Luna until I sacrifice my countryman, the ghost tribe. Vanitas is a God that brings an end. I don't know what personality it is, but at least it's not a god who cares about things like charity and compassion. Isn't it strange, for example, to ignore your original personality and make you do something unscrupulous...)

Ashley started talking because Ray wouldn't open his mouth.

"I don't even understand what Lord Varma said, but can I say enough that I am still unaffected? If it's affected, it means we're in danger as well as Luna."

Ray answers Ashley's suspicions on Varma's behalf.

"I know what Ash's trying to say. But they're gods. I can't help but worry."

"That's why it's dangerous not to do anything. After all, shouldn't we take Luna west?"

"Lord Varma bothered to tell me that Vanitas is either unaffected or has a strong Noctis power..."

"But..." Ashley blocks, but Ray continues the conversation by controlling it with his eyes.

"There is no doubt that Luna is the key. For example, not completely eliminating Vanitas' influence from Luna would be a repetition of the same thing. Even temporarily, while Vanitas is weakening, I feel like I can't take it back without hitting my hand."

Ashley nodded "Sure," but Stella kept quiet without nodding.

(Master Ray is probably right. But I don't trust the Moon Demons. Besides, if the ghosts attacked Luberna, it would be a big deal. No matter how strong the guard is, you won't be able to escape.)

Stella pointed that out.

"Even if you trust the Moon Demons, there is something about the Ghosts. I don't know how many days it will take for the ritual, or if it succeeds, I don't know if Mr. Luna will be able to move quickly. Shouldn't we head west here, as Ashley said?"

"Wait for that," Varma says, pinching her mouth.

"As Master Elis said, it is dangerous to put aside time without restoring your child's heart. Luberna is a robust castle. Even ghosts can stand a year or two."

"I don't suppose there will be any reinforcements when it comes to crossing the castle. I don't know how powerful the Ghosts are, but there's no chance of winning the Battle of the Castle without reinforcements."

Ashley calmly points that out.

"We're not completely isolated without reinforcements. We have wings. In exchange, the enemy has no wings."

"I know that. But I guess they're serious. You should hit any hand to get Luna back. Because all the countryside around here could be burned down. Then the castle won't be possible."

Varma was unable to respond to Ashley's concerns. Now that the curse of Vanitas has been lifted, I feel resistant to pointing a blade at my countrymen. Especially this time the cause was that we forcibly took the Son of the Moon, and there were drawbacks to it.

"Whether you're going to Castle or not, the recovery of Luna is a matter of decision. It's not Lord Elise's word, but I think I need to get Luna back together soon, too."

Stella still did not change her will to the contrary.

"But then it will be dangerous even to Master Ray. I've defeated thousands of ghosts in Periclitle. You will always be retaliated against if you find out about it. Please reconsider."

That's what I say and I bow my head big.

"Stella's right. You are the natural enemy of the Ghosts, the White Mage. Its name and characteristics will already be known from survival. You can hide armor and weapons, but we're like Spy, a fine piece that's infiltrated from the west. If there's any trigger, there's no life."

"I know that very well. But I'm aware of the danger. If I spare my life, I won't do anything reckless like crossing that wilderness. First of all, I took this risk, but I came here to help Luna. Because it's strange to run away without proper treatment."

"Right," Ashley nods at Ray's last words. Stella feels Ray's will is strong and changes her mind that it's useless to say anything more.

(If Master Ray is so determined, all I can do is protect this person. We need to talk to Master Ashley about how to escape later...)

Stella did not argue, so she went straight to Luberna, where it was established that massive magic would be applied to restore Luna.
