Lesson 54: Consultation

June 13.

Ray and Luna met the gods.

The gods ask the two of them to maintain the equilibrium of the world. In particular, it raised the difficult challenge of stopping the war between the Holy King Luke and the Caerm Empire.

Ray feels that the gods are guiding us to be convenient to ourselves, distrustful.

After leaving the underground temple, he returned to the room where he met with the chief cleric, Lair Gyneth. Ashley and the others were waiting there, looking unexpected.

"I heard it would be over soon, but I didn't think it would be this much," Ashley says.

"Was it that short? I think it's been over an hour."

"No, it's not been long enough. I was just about to discuss the rest of this."

Stella and Ryan nod loudly at Ashley's words.

"Because the gods called me," Lair began to explain as Ray looked strange.

"That place is a divine domain, so the gods are free to change the course of time. I'm sure you've taken care of it to get a little more time to talk to you."

"Really..." Ray replies,

"Me and Luna still can't sort our heads out. May I speak with my colleagues?"

"Of course I don't mind. I don't know what story they told you, but it's from the gods. You'll soon find it inconclusive."

"Thank you," he says, bowing his head.

Then head to the Ashleys,

"The conclusion is to be communicated tomorrow, so once I get home, I want to talk to the gods"

That's all Ray said, he bowed his head to Rae again and left the temple.

The leftover Lair was staring behind Ray and Luna.

(The gods didn't say anything to me. Even though we have been praying for five thousand years... maybe we “gods” are already unnecessary to the gods. Still, I...)

The divine man was a cleric of ancient civilization made by the God of man (Wita). He has a robust body, and his magical talents are incomparable with those he's had before. Life expectancy was non-existent, resistant to disease, and promised eternal life unless even accidents occurred.

During the period of ancient civilization, each temple was partitioned, the word of the gods was preached to the people and the faith was preserved.

However, many divine men were sacrificed in the disease associated with the alteration of genetic information caused by the invasion of the godless (Vanitas), the so-called “Kunaran syndrome”. The gods were powerless in the trap of a magical “mana”.

Vanitas was the first to launch an attack on the Temple of the Three Lord God and the Eight Class God. That was aimed at reducing people's faith.

The priests of the Three Lord God and the Eight Class God lost their lives one after the other by the Kunaran Syndrome. Those who turned themselves into demons of what perpetuated their lives continued to emerge. They possessed tough flesh and strong magic, and were disposed of by gods who feared their power.

A very small number of clerics who were normal would also be disposed of by gods who considered the possibility of information contamination. And only the clergy of Claretore, protected by the Divine Domain, survived.

Originally, the Temple of Claretore was not a place of faith. After the world was doomed, it was this divine domain that was the basis for rebuilding the world again. For that reason, neither did Vanitas, the God that brings the end.

Though he survived, the gods abandoned the divine man without hesitation. Because a cleric who was supposed to gather faith and stabilize the world, on the contrary, fuelled the collapse of the world.

Unlike the clergy of the eleven pillars of the gods, the clergy of the Temple of Claretore did not gather the faith of the people, but the gods did not recognize value in the mere existence of preserving the place that would be the beginning of the world.

(We will live forever. There is no purpose in living...... some people say we should look to the outside world like Atro. But what will it be...... Claretore is a god who doesn't need people's faith. And we are only alive in the name of serving that God......)

The clergy of the Temple of Creatore exists on the grounds that it protects the Divine Domain, but in fact the Divine Domain is protected by Creatore and does not require a special administrator. Because the eleven pillar gods placed priests in their own temples, they also sent only divine men to the Temple of Creatore. This is a fact that only the Chief Cleric will know.

Even though they are divine men with eternal life, they are only “men” with emotions.

Continuing to exist on this occasion in a state of denial of its own existential value entails great suffering. In fact, her predecessor couldn't stand the duty of continuing to pray but not responding, resigning from the priesthood before the invasion of Vanitas and unwittingly turning down his life.

Fortunately, it's a subtlety, but the invasion of Vanitas began after Lair became chief cleric, so that the eleven pillar gods appeared frequently in this divine domain.

The reason was not revealed to her, but it was by praying that the voices of the gods could be heard. For this reason, it can be said that he was able to spend an uninterrupted amount of time as chief cleric for a “man” of five thousand years.

(Those two are not from this world. Perhaps he who was summoned from the same place as the young man who came before. Because the gods should be expecting those two. He said he didn't expect anything from us priests...)

Rae had feelings similar to Ray and Luna's jealousy. Nevertheless, I never forgot the admiration of those who serve God.

After the temple, the Rays entered the home where they were staying. Ray retained the Unos trying to go to security.

"I want to talk to everyone."

That said, wait for everyone to sit down, including Uno.

Everyone sat down and Ray began to tell them that it was an underground temple.

"I met the gods. To all the Three Lord God and the Eight Class God..."

Ashley and the others weren't surprised by the word because they expected it, but as the conversation progressed, the expression became frightened.

"... Vanitas was like a strategy of intensively sharpening the power of God of Light (Lucidus) and God of Darkness (Noctis). One of them is to ramble Sochius. And the other seems to have created a being called Light Divinity..."

So Ashley raises her voice unexpectedly.

"Wait. I know about Sochius. If the Demons attack west of Aquila, there will be many dead. But what do you mean, light theism? It is true that the clergy of the Church is rotten, but as far as the peasant militias in the village of Fiscal are concerned, many people should have been followers of the devout Lucidus?

"Right. I also think the followers at the end are really simple and good people. But what the gods said was something else. Just as the“ Son of the Moon ”appeared in Sochius, so did Luke the" Lukidus "appearance."

Ray's expression at that time included a grin.

"Does that mean" Lucidus' manifestation ”is Master Ray?

You guessed from Ray's words and expression, that's how Stella confirms it.

"It seems so. It seems Vanitas has been giving revelations for a long time that“ the manifestation of Lucidus ”will appear in the Light Divinity cadre. So it seems that the Bishop of Gastaldi, whom I met in Doctus, persisted in following me."

Ashley complains of the phrase, "That's what..."

"That's not all," Luna joins the story.

"It's like we're talking about Lucidus' manifestation showing up and overthrowing the Empire. Luke says 200,000 people have been gathered as soldiers."

"Two hundred thousand... I can't imagine..." Ryan mutters, but Ashley, bright enough in the military, quickly regains his calm and turns his mind around about the war between Luke and the Empire.

"Two hundred thousand... certainly a great army, but with all that power, defeating the empire and so on will come true. The Imperial Army is full of soldiers. If there are four regular legions, they are easily kicked out, such as the Holy King's Army of peasant militia subjects... don't you even know the extent of it, the leaders of the Light Divinity"

"I think Ash is right. You can assure me that the gods are also aiming to weaken their faith in Lucidus by the tragic defeat of Luke. But more importantly, the gods have told us to stop that war. Hundreds of thousands of troops are at war. You can't possibly do that."

Ray flaunts his shoulder like he says he can't be doing it.

"It's easy to say that we're going to stop the war, but it's going to be a tough job to stop a moving army once. Didn't the gods say anything about it?"

"My brigadier said," He's getting me on the road. "He said... you just have to believe it and move on."

Ashley is shaking her head small in Luna's words.

"Luna's edger... you mean Sir Zacharias... it's not an unlikely story given what's been going on, but it's incredible..."

"I certainly don't think Mr. Zach would, but the gods were told to“ set the course ”. If Mr. Zach moves directly, I think he can use his blacksmith and sorcerer guilds to stop the war, but the way the gods say it, it felt like Ray had to do it."

"No matter how much ray, the load is too heavy. We should make sure of that tomorrow."

"I'm a little out of line, but I need to talk to you more fundamentally"

"The fundamental thing? I'm not sure," Luna tilts her neck.

"Because you just can't say it in front of the gods. Well, I guess it's a prospect what I think."

"What kind of story is that?"

"I think Ash and Stella would remember, but in the beginning some of my memories... were conveniently sealed by the gods..."

I choose the word because there is a kitley who doesn't know that Ray and Luna are reincarnators.

"... and there are signs of you trying to move me as you wish from the area where you entered Periclitle. Just when I met Luna."

"Oh, you sure do. That's what bothered you a lot."

"I remember, too. Something that made me feel so horrible in a completely different way than my usual Lady Ray."

Ashley chewed up the bitter worm in her face and shivered as Stella remembered.

"I can't trust the gods. I feel like I'm using us like pawns. If you listen to the gods, you'll end up being disposed of. I thought it might be an operation to stop Vanitas with our lives."

"I don't think the gods will get that far. Noctis in particular is a God who gives peace. I don't think they'll ever adopt a way to distrust you."

Ione, who was so silent, disproves in a rare and strong manner.

Because she is a priestly apprentice of the Temple of Darkness and a devout Noctis follower.

"I know what you're trying to say. Because it was in Noctis, but it felt like you were kind enough to watch over us. But Noctis is only one of the eleven gods. I can't tell you that we have to stop to save the world and not sacrifice us."

Rejected by Luna, son of the moon, Ione loses his word.

"As I said earlier, I can't trust the gods. I want your opinion on this."

Stella asked to speak first.

"I can't trust the gods either. I've tormented Master Ray so much."

Ray says "thank you" to Stella, who seeps in anger, and we'll see if everyone has any other opinions.

I got his gaze, and Ashley raised her voice.

"Neither can I. But the gods should still be looking at us. For if we defy the gods here, we shall have the same result."

"I think so. On the contrary, you might want to be honest."

"I know that much, and how can you say that the gods can't be trusted?" Luna asks the question.

"All I can think about so far is that the gods think of us as a handy tool. I can't get rid of that impression. So I just wanted to let you know that we have a lot on our minds."

"So you're saying we're having this discussion to make the gods listen?" and Luna is astonished.

"Even if it's used as a tool, we have a heart. Besides, I don't think I'd treat you badly if you thought we were more likely to succeed cooperatively. I want to have a proper discussion, including that."

Kitty Erbain, who has listened to the Rays' argument in silence until now, is grinning as she arms up.

(This kid is amazing, too. I can't believe we're arguing to make the gods listen. I didn't tell you about the information pollution Vanitas did because it's too irritating, but maybe we could talk about this...)

So Kitty asked for a statement, "Could I have a moment?"

Ray tilts his neck at Kitty's ever silent request to speak, but permits him to say "go ahead" immediately because he is an elder and a researcher of God.

"Ray, you're not wrong to alarm the gods. But before I do, I want to explain why the gods are wary of Vanitas. Even so, I'd like you to take this opportunity only because I haven't made the announcement anywhere yet..."

Kittry began talking about the invasion by Vanitas, which was four thousand years ago. Explaining the information alteration and Kunaran syndrome using Mana gradually makes me unable to follow except Ray and Luna. But I am stunned at the fact that pre-civilization, called ancient civilization, perished and many people lost their lives in doing so.

"... I still have no proof that Vanitas was involved, but I can only think of Vanitas because of the formation of this world. I mean, the same thing happens when you leave that god alone, which means that a lot of people are going to be unhappy."

When Kitty finishes her story, she gets wrapped up in heavy painful air. It was so much so that even the Unos, who were constantly pushing their emotions to death, were feeling scared.

"Are you saying I should take action to prevent it?

"No," Kittley replied to Ray's question,

"I don't know what you're talking about, but first of all, I don't deserve to say" do it. ”I just told them the facts or that I was close to it. You're the ones who make the decisions."

So I heard Luna say, "Did Mr. Zach know about this?" in a voice that seemed to disappear.

"I don't know. I merely derived this conclusion from the facts I found from the ruins and the stories he had heard from ancient researchers. Zach, you are very cautious about these things. So I never speak of inadvertent hypotheses. I may be talking to Lydiane and the others, but at least I'm not talking to me, the researcher, or Dr. Raspade, unless I have all the evidence."

"Really?" I just said nothing more.

"Well, it's time for you to hear my conclusions."

That's what Ray said. He looked around at everyone.
