Trinitas Mundus

Episode 77: Getting Out of the Fight

Early morning of August 30th.

The Rays were in the wilderness 60 km (Kimmel) east of Lark Hill.

Beneath him is the great power of some 20,000 human horse warriors, mainly Sorel, and about 50,000 nomadic warriors, mainly Karaev.

In addition, Hamish and hundreds of other mercenaries from the Markat Mercenary Corps (Red Arms) were escorting him as direct reports.

"Today we want to go east of Lark Hill to about twenty kimmels"

Reeva, chief of the Sorel tribe, says "you will" to Ray's words and bows his head.

However, because the distance traveled is less than I thought, I will make a modest confirmation of that.

"I don't have a problem speeding things up a little bit?

"I know your marching speed is great. As far as I'm concerned, I'd like to rendezvous with Uno and the others before I approach Lark Hill."

He didn't want to make contact with the Imperial Army without knowing what was going on in and around Lark Hill. Though Reeva could not understand why, it is the order of the White King, who bows his head and acknowledges it as it is.

That evening we were able to proceed as planned to the position of twenty kimmels east of Lark Hill.

He is scouting around nomads and scouting ahead to where Lark Hill can be seen. According to that scourge, Luke's Holy King's Army had not yet arrived and the Imperial Army had not sent out of Lark Hill either.

Uno and Seyce, who were gathering information at Lark Hill, returned that night. Ray assembled those who were the Lord.

"Good day," she asks, "have you been in contact with Theo and the others?"

"We have been successful in our contacts with Lord Theophilus. We have information about Prince Julius, Prince Percival and the Imperial Army."

Theo understood the importance of information, and as soon as he heard Uno, he took action.

He contacted Lucien Ezzarington, deputy secretary of the Fourth Corps and second son of the Duke of Ezzarington, the Chancellor, to reinforce the information he had and to pass it on to Uno.

"... Prince Julius is now twenty-two years old and has the right to the second throne, but there is currently no such thing as a back shield"

"Currently? Does that mean you were there before?" Ray asks.

"Yes. Lord Kendrew, who was an elder, was the back shield. My oldest daughter, or immediate granddaughter, was my fiancée, but she died five years ago at the age of fifteen. Since then, he has spoken several times about his engagement to the Duke's son, but none of them have been established."

Lawrence, then Duke of Kendrew, was a heavy town of the Leopold prince faction, but now gives way to the housekeeper. It means that Prince Julius' queen was originally the eldest daughter of the present Duke of Kendrew.

"It's unusual to have no fiancée for five years. Do you have any information about that?

The situation is unusual where the royal family has no fiancée after twenty. Especially if you are a direct male of the current emperor, you need to leave your pedigree as a prep for anything to happen to the Crown Prince.

"No definitive information has been obtained. However, Lord Theophilus wonders if there has been interference from both the Crown Prince and the Prince Leopold."

"From both factions? You mean there was also obstruction from the Royalists, even though the original Lord Kendrew of the Leopold prince faction was the back shield?

Ray doesn't get the point.

I tried to get my own direct line in, because that means I tried to take Prince Julius in.

"It's my pleasure. Sir Lucien seems to think so. That's why, but they're talking about the engagement of Prince Julius to Miss Primrose, Lord Ezarrington's second daughter. Lord Ezarrington is passive, but we have heard that both factions are overreacting."

"So you're interrupting the Chancellor's faction to keep Prince Julius, the heir to the throne, from being taken in..."

Uno nodded loudly, saying "you will," but indicated yet another thought.

"Lord Theophilus wonders if the information itself is deceptive."

"Is it deception?" Ray asked, "Uno nodded loudly again,

"As Lord Ezzarington makes Prince Julius his emperor, he dares to circulate such information, alerting both the Crown Prince and the Crown Prince, and wondering if he is plotting not to be taken in by any of it"

"You're getting harder," he mutters as Ashley holds his temples down.

"Are you saying that the Chancellor thinks neither the Crown Prince nor Prince Leopold are worthy of the next emperor..."

"Yes. This is not what Lord Theophilus thought, but what Lord Zacharias told me, and he says it's a high probability"

"If that's what Mr. Zach said, you'd better think about it," Luna mutters.

"Mr. Zach is familiar with the politics of the Empire."

"Yes, you must also know Lord Etherlington's character well."

"You mean Prince Leopold has a sense of crisis... so there's plenty of potential for a rampage here..."

So the words are interrupted and slightly contemplated.

"... Uncle Rednap is Lord Ezarrington's minister, so he should move to contain Prince Leopold's rampage. I wish I could use this successfully...... did you have any other information in Prince Julius' relationship?

Uno nodded, "Yes, sir," and continued to explain.

"It is a crowd of Prince Julius, but although introverted, it does not seem to be as abusive as the Crown Prince, nor as belligerent as Prince Leopold. He was also not interested in anything other than gastronomy and was unclear what kind of creed he had when it came to politics."

"I'm interested in gastronomy... that's why you're like Primrose," Luna mutters.

"With that said, wasn't that person's name before?

"Yeah, I got a name when I spoke to Mr. Burt at the Robbins Chamber of Commerce in Imperial City."

Before going to Gilsall Island, I had been to the Robbins Chamber of Commerce of the Lockhart family Itchy when I gathered information in Imperial Primes, where the name Primrose comes up.

"It's the best food in Teito when it comes to sweetness (dessert). I made chocolate so we could get along."

"With that said, I think we talked about that. Does that mean it's more likely that Prince Julius is letting you in... As Lord Ezarrington, I'd like Prince Julius to be emperor, but if I marry my own daughter, I'll have to stop being a prime minister, so that's the hard part."

Information about Prince Julius can then be conveyed by Uno, but very little was beneficial.

More to the point of talking about Prince Percival, he had no political ambitions and had only information that he was worried about whether to establish a one-generation Grand Duke to become independent or adopt a son into some duke's house.

"... To sum up, the prime minister, Lord Ezarrington, who is the best politician in the empire, thinks neither the Crown Prince nor Prince Leopold deserve an emperor. I'm thinking of Prince Julius as my replacement candidate, but I'm in trouble because I'm trying to make my own daughter my queen. Prince Percival, who was the fourth candidate, is completely out of the list. Can I look like this?"

"I was wondering if it would be all right as you know," Uno bowed his head,

"We will now talk about the situation of the Imperial Army…" and changed the subject.

"The location of Luke's Holy King's Army is still unknown, and as an Imperial Army, he seems to be struggling to cope. Prince Leopold and Uncle Rednapp have ordered the regiment to be ready at any time, and that has already been done too. We hear that if the Holy King's Army shows up, the idea is to immediately deploy and intercept it outside of Lark Hill…"

"You mean challenging 200,000 to 250,000 large armies into battle with 30,000 troops," Hamish growls.

Uno nods small at the words, but keeps talking.

"The Imperial Army is 20,000 Fourth Regiment and 10,000 Infantry Centered Third Regiment. The Commander-in-Chief is Prince Leopold. The deputy commander is Uncle Rednapp, but it appears that the prince will also have command of the Fourth Corps. It's an assumed tactic, but it seems to be a tactic of accepting enemy troops for a total of 20,000 infantry in the Third and Fourth Legions and using 10,000 cavalry in the Fourth Legion to exterminate them with a side or rear attack."

"You could even ask about tactics," Ray said, surprised.

"They say it's a normal tactic of the Imperial Army, and Lord Theophilus said it's not particularly to hide it"

"Indeed, the Imperial Army cavalry is strong. I'm dying, too."

Alberic and most squad captain Gareth Ayring nod loudly when Hamish says so.

More Hamish talks about the strength of the Imperial Army cavalry.

"If you have 10,000 of those cavalry, it doesn't matter how much you want for a barely trained peasant militia. Plus, if we deploy to the front of Lark Hill, we can't have a complete siege as long as the soldiers are there. Once 20,000 Imperial Infantry have consolidated their formation, they cannot be cut down by peasant militias with only crude spears."

The Imperial Army infantry is famous for holding large shields and creating solid formations in dense formation. A half-breed cavalry assault can be held back by a spear that protrudes like a hare without a gap, and can even wipe out all damage.

"The biggest concern of the Imperial Army seems to be what Master Arklight thinks. Though I am creepy that there is no information against the Holy King's Army, I do not doubt the victory is even dusty"

"How far do you know about us?

"The exact truth is, Lord Theophilus couldn't seem to hear it either, but I don't think he talked about taking this position by the time I left the city. However, we have encountered several Imperial Army scouts on our way here, so you will definitely be noticed if we get any closer"

"Okay. From here on out, it's a favor to Mr. Leeva..." so I turn my gaze to Leeva.

Reeva immediately bows her head, "Please tell me what it is".

"We'll wait here until the Holy King's Army shows up, but send fast foot scouts around Lark Hill. But don't fight the Imperial Army's scourge no matter what. This is an order as king."

Leeva said, "Yes!," he lowered his head,

"Under no circumstances must we cross spears with the Imperial Army," he said.

"Please. The rest is if the Holy King's Army shows up, but we'll get rid of this place immediately and get in between before the two armies collide. And this is where it matters, but when I hear about the discovery of the Holy King's Army, I'll be on my way to Lark Hill at full speed. This is not to give the Imperial Army and the Holy King's Army time to think."

What Ray thought was a surprise effect.

The Holy King's Army is a large army of peasant militia subjects, and even when you get to the battlefield, it takes two or three hours to form a formation. Also, since the Imperial Army is stationed in Lark Hill, it will take about three hours to hear the report of the discovery of the Holy King's Army and set out.

The army of the people of the meadow on the other hand is made up of light cavalry of the Humans and Nomads, and twenty km (Kimmel) can be fully arrived in less than two hours. Even considering the time for the scouts to return, it is possible to reach the battlefield before the end of the battle between the two armies is opened.

We can move around sparingly if we keep it in formation a little closer, but we are also waiting outside the scope of our scourge to give an ambush effect against the Imperial Army and not to obstinate our relationship with the Imperial Army due to inadvertent contact.

"We don't know when we're going to the battlefield after tomorrow. Please don't hesitate to prepare."

That's how Ray closed.

September 1st the following day. Clear early in the morning, very good vision.

The scouts had been heading west since before dawn, and the main unit had finished breakfast by about 7 a.m. and was ready to appear at any time.

Around 10 a.m.

Stella, who was holding back next to Ray, said, "A human horse warrior is coming running," pointing in the western direction.

As Ray turns his gaze, two Horse Warriors rush through the wilderness in a raid (Gallup).

Leeva said, "It is the scourge of the Gaona tribe. We were dispatched to the west most," he tells them.

The surrounding warriors look softly at the Gaona warriors wondering if they will receive the report of the discovery of the Holy King's Army.

When the two suddenly stop in front of Ray, they break their front legs and lay flat.

All a young man in his mid-twenties or so, his face is red from the excitement he can see in the White King, in addition to all he has done.

"I say! Luke's Saint King's Army-like army has appeared in Kimmel, ten West of Lark Hill. It's such a long line that you don't know how far it lasts that you're sure in the main unit of the Holy King's Army! Also in Lark Hill, the Imperial Army was moving in a hurry!

I wonder if Ray has finally arrived, but he says to the warrior, "Good luck. I'm in formation now, but rest easy," he says.

"Thank you for your concern! But I'm going to be in line with my people too!

That's what I said and headed under my family.

Ray crossed over to his horse lover traveler by saying to Leeva, "I'd like a command to leave," he said.

Around him Ashley and Stella ride horses in the same way, and the Lunas and Red Arms faces flinch on horses.

"Then we leave from the main unit," he said, unleashing the magic of fireworks against the sky.

A round shaped red flame spreads over the clear sky. Shortly afterwards, a heavy bass called Dawn sounded in the wilderness.

With that signal, Ray makes the traveler run.

Along with the sound of hooves rocking the ground, the legions of "White Kings” set out for the west.
