Chapter 1770: A Traditional Physician May Not Cure All
For a moment, Taylor didn’t know how to respond, so he hung his head low, thinking he was just here to apologize anyway.
Showing a bit of weakness might prevent another beating.
After a while, he heard Jocelyn speak, "You should go back now and get some good rest."
Hearing this, Taylor looked up and met Jocelyn Morgan’s gaze. He said earnestly, "I’m sorry, Jocelyn, I was wrong."
"I understand." Jocelyn Morgan’s lips curled slightly, "Go back quickly." His mom must be very worried too.
Seeing that she wasn’t angry, Taylor was slightly relieved. He cautiously looked at Ian Shelby again, and immediately caught his cold, indifferent gaze.
After about three seconds, Taylor withdrew his gaze and turned to walk outside.
When he returned to his palace, the royal physician was still waiting.
A little embarrassed, Taylor put on a stern face and avoided looking at him.
Accompanied by his mother and Julie, the royal physician treated his wounds simply, then gave him medication before he lay down to rest.
"These injuries are quite serious..." The royal physician sighed repeatedly, his brow furrowed deeply, as if faced with an insurmountable problem.
Hearing him say this, Catherine’s heart tightened, "There’s no damage to the internal organs, right? There’s no internal bleeding, is there? Is there any danger to his life?"
"No," the royal physician shook his head, "The injuries are not life-threatening, but they will hurt for a long time, and might even leave a lifelong problem."
His exaggerated words scared Catherine, and Julie said coldly, "Can you treat it or not?!" What kind of doctor scares people?
"I can, I can..."
"If you can, just treat it properly! Treat it until it’s healed, don’t waste words! If you can’t treat it, it’s your medical skills that are in question!" Julie didn’t want to hear his nonsense, feeling he was too exaggerated and would scare the princess.
The royal physician immediately fell silent, his little thoughts clearly seen through by Julie.
Then he prescribed some topical medication for Prince Taylor and promised the princess he would come for consultations twice daily.
After the royal physician left, Catherine had a servant stay by Taylor’s bedside, then withdrew with Julie, so as not to disturb his rest.
As the two walked back, Catherine felt as if a weight was pressing on her heart; she was deeply worried about her son’s injuries and wished she could bear the pain for him.
Julie, after much thought, hesitated and said, "The royal physician’s skills are lacking." She made a direct conclusion.
"You realized this from the King’s recent treatment, didn’t you?" Catherine felt the same way.
"Yes." Julie nodded, "He couldn’t even detect traces of poisoning, couldn’t find the root cause, how could he cure it?"
"In the past, all royal illnesses, big and small issues, were handled by him, and he was effective."
"For things like colds, anyone can treat those themselves with the right medication." Julie didn’t want to criticize more, so she spoke directly, "Since Prince Louis has good medical skills, should we ask him to treat Prince Taylor? To prevent any long-term complications."
Actually, this thought had crossed Catherine’s mind several times, but... she couldn’t bring herself to voice it.
"He personally did the beating, then comes to treat it himself? Is that even possible?" Catherine had no hope, "He probably wishes he could beat him for another hour, his anger hasn’t dissipated, best not to provoke him."
"..." Julie looked serious, truly worried about the prince’s injuries.
After a while, Catherine sighed, "Let’s wait and see. As long as it’s not life-threatening, maybe the royal physician can heal it? If there’s improvement tomorrow, there’s no need to ask Prince Louis."
