Chapter 746 - 747 Blood Clan Jack
Lin Guo’er initially thought it was Lin Kuang complimenting her. When she looked up, however, she saw an unfamiliar American man speaking with perfect fluency.
Lin Guo’er simply smiled and nodded in polite response.
"Honey, do you think it looks good?" Lin Guo’er asked Lin Kuang, blinking her eyes with a smile.
Lin Kuang nodded with a smile. "Yes, it looks good. Very good. My wife looks good in anything."
"Then shall we buy it?" Lin Guo’er asked with a grin.
"Of course," Lin Kuang said with a smile. "If you like it, we’ll buy it."
Just then, the American man spoke up. "Beautiful lady, I would be happy to pay for that for you."
Hearing this, Lin Kuang shot him an annoyed look. "Listen, pal, this is my wife. Why don’t you get lost?"
"No, no, no. Every man has the right to pursue such a beautiful lady. She doesn’t belong to you alone," the American said with a smile, completely disregarding the way Lin Kuang and Lin Guo’er addressed each other.
Lin Kuang frowned. "Kid, it looks like you’re trying to steal my wife, but you’re not worthy."
"Steal your wife? What do you mean?" the man asked. "I simply admire the lady. Even though she’s your wife, you can’t stop me from exercising my right to pursue her." Clearly, the man didn’t understand the nuances of the Hua Country expression.
"You really are shameless. So thick-skinned," Lin Kuang stated calmly. "Come on, honey, let’s go pay," he said, moving to Lin Guo’er’s side and pointedly ignoring the American.
Seeing this, the American man hurried over. "Hello, beautiful lady," he said with a broad smile. "My name is Jack. It’s a pleasure to meet you." As he spoke, Jack extended a hand toward Lin Guo’er, striking a gentlemanly pose.
Lin Kuang felt a surge of annoyance. Are all Americans this thick-skinned?
"I’m sorry, but I’m not interested in getting to know you," Lin Guo’er said, though she kept a polite smile fixed on her face.
"Oh, but beautiful lady, if you got to know me, you’d realize it’s your good fortune to do so," Jack insisted, his tone brimming with confidence.
"Oh, I’m sorry. I’m not looking for that kind of good fortune. It seems you’re destined for disappointment," Lin Guo’er replied coolly. The man’s persistence was starting to get on her nerves.
"Beautiful lady, don’t be so quick to refuse. If you’d just give me the opportunity to have lunch with you, I’m certain you’d be very happy to know me," Jack said again. His gaze was fixed solely on Lin Guo’er, completely ignoring Lin Kuang standing right beside her.
Hearing this, Lin Guo’er’s expression turned cold. "Sir, I’m sorry, but I have no interest in getting to know you, nor do I eat with strangers. If there’s nothing else, please leave. You’re ruining my mood for shopping." Her patience was wearing thin; the man’s relentless pestering had truly angered her.
"My apologies, beautiful lady, please don’t be angry. It’s quite common for someone as lovely as you to have suitors. Even if you won’t grant me the chance to have lunch, you can’t forbid me from admiring you," Jack said with a smile, maintaining his gentlemanly facade without a hint of anger.
Just as Lin Guo’er was about to retort, Lin Kuang cut in. "Hey, can’t you have some damn shame? Is it really okay to be that thick-skinned?"
He stared at Jack with clear annoyance. He’d met thick-skinned people before, but never anyone this brazen. The guy’s hide was even thicker than his own.
At Lin Kuang’s insulting words, the smile vanished from Jack’s face, replaced by a cold expression. "Sir, I suggest you watch your words and your tone. This is America, not Hua Country where you can spout filth whenever you please. Here, you will show me the proper politeness and respect," Jack said coolly, affecting the air of a nobleman.
Lin Kuang couldn’t help but roll his eyes. "Oh, so America is so great, is it? In that case, how about FUCK? I seem to recall you Americans say that one quite a bit. Besides, why should I respect someone who doesn’t deserve it? A piece of trash like you would make a cesspool complain about your stench. Do I need to respect you?
"Do you even know what respect is? Respect is something you earn through your actions and words. It’s not something you can just demand from others. That’s not respect. That’s called coercion, it’s called bullying, and it’s called being a pretentious prick. You get me?" Lin Kuang finished flatly, watching Jack’s expression shift through various shades of anger.
"You impolite, yellow-skinned monkey," Jack spat, his face twisting with rage. "I can’t imagine how you were even allowed into our gentlemanly country. Your kind is an insult to our culture, an affront to American civilization."
"Fuck you and your bullshit." Lin Kuang’s voice turned cold. "I’ll say this once: disappear from my sight. Don’t you ever show your face in front of my wife again, or I’ll make you crawl out of this place. Believe me, I don’t joke around with strangers." Lin Kuang wasn’t going to waste any more time on this. It was better to act than to argue and waste his breath.
"Yellow-skinned monkey, you are insulting a gentleman. You will be punished! Now, I will punish you in a manner befitting a gentleman," Jack declared, the rage on his face impossible to hide.
"’Yellow-skinned monkey?’ Is that what you think you can call me?" Lin Kuang sneered. "You damn American. You’re just asking for a beating!"
The next moment, Lin Kuang strode forward until he was right in front of Jack. Then, he swung his hand and slapped him squarely across the left cheek.
At this, a sneer flashed in Jack’s eyes, and an unusual red light glinted in his otherwise calm pupils.
As his hand connected, Lin Kuang sharply perceived the strange change in Jack’s eyes, and a jolt of shock went through him.
Damn it, could this guy be a vampire? Why else would his eyes suddenly turn red? Lin Kuang wondered.
With that thought, Lin Kuang’s powerful Perception rapidly enveloped Jack.
It was only then that Lin Kuang sensed it for certain. Jack wasn’t human. He was a vampire.
