Chapter 745 - 746
"Oh, come on. I already said we’ll talk about it tonight. For now, will you please go shopping with me?" Lin Guo’er said, shooting Lin Kuang a sharp glare.
"Of course, let’s go shopping right now. I was just teasing you. Look how scared you got," Lin Kuang said with a grin.
Hearing this, Lin Guo’er rolled her eyes and ignored him. After leaving the room, the two of them headed directly upstairs.
"Mr. Lin, Miss Lin, breakfast is ready for you," Zhang Tianshun said with a smile as he saw them emerge.
"Mr. Zhang, you don’t have to be so formal. If you have things to do, please go attend to them. I’m very easy-going," Lin Kuang said with a smile as he sat down at the dining table.
"Not at all. I was just about to invite you for breakfast, so I came over," Zhang Tianshun said with a smile. "Also, I’ve reported the matter concerning the Fan Family to headquarters, and they will assist with the investigation. However, since it is the Fan Family, obtaining useful information will be difficult. We will need a bit more time."
Lin Kuang smiled and nodded. "No problem. It’s just a little time, I can afford to wait. By the way, Mr. Zhang, Guo’er and I are going shopping. Will that cause any trouble?"
"Well, after yesterday’s incident, the New York police are looking for you," Zhang Tianshun said after a moment of thought. "How about this? Give me half an hour, and I’ll get you a fake identity." For him, such a task was a piece of cake.
"In that case, I’ll have to trouble you, Mr. Zhang," Lin Kuang said with a chuckle.
"It’s nothing. This is what I should do," Zhang Tianshun replied with a smile before turning to leave.
Lin Kuang and Lin Guo’er chatted as they ate. Just as they finished breakfast, Zhang Tianshun returned with several documents in his hand.
"Mr. Lin, this is your temporary identification. The name on it is Yang Xuan. If anyone questions you, just tell them your name is Yang Xuan," Zhang Tianshun said with a smile, handing the documents to Lin Kuang.
"Alright. Thank you for your trouble, Mr. Zhang," Lin Kuang said with a smile as he took the documents.
"It’s no problem at all. Here are the car keys. The Mercedes van outside is for you. It’s not a fancy car, but I hope you don’t mind, Mr. Lin," Zhang Tianshun added with a smile.
Lin Kuang nodded in satisfaction. This Zhang Tianshun is very meticulous. He even prepared a car.
"Not at all, Mr. Zhang, you’re too kind. We’ll head out now and be back later," Lin Kuang said with a smile as he stood up.
Zhang Tianshun nodded with a smile, and Lin Kuang led Lin Guo’er out of the building. They drove toward Fifth Avenue.
The street was home to the world’s top luxury brands, with countless items worth millions, or even tens of millions. It was a shopping paradise for the wealthy and the epicenter of high-end retail.
After arriving on Fifth Avenue, Lin Kuang found a parking spot. Once the car was parked, the two of them got out.
Lin Kuang didn’t really care for places like this; he was just along to carry bags for Lin Guo’er. He didn’t recognize any of the brand names. When it came to clothes, his priorities were comfort and a decent appearance. The price was never a factor, whether it was a few dozen dollars or a few hundred.
"The last time I was here was two years ago. It’s been so long. I’ve really missed the feeling of a good old shopping spree," Lin Guo’er said with a grin, looking at the somewhat unfamiliar stretch of Fifth Avenue before her.
"Yikes, let’s just buy a few things. Don’t go too crazy," Lin Kuang said helplessly. "If you buy too much, I’m worried I won’t be able to carry it all."
"Pfft, I don’t care about that. Did you bring your card?" Lin Guo’er asked with a laugh, glancing at him.
"I did," Lin Kuang answered honestly.
"How much is in it?" Lin Guo’er asked with a grin.
"I think there’s about a hundred million left?" Lin Kuang said after a moment of thought. The card was a gift from Liu Shilin, and he couldn’t quite remember the exact balance.
"I have a few tens of millions on me, too. That should be more than enough. Let’s go!" Lin Guo’er said, beaming with joy.
It seems to be a universal truth that women, from young girls to their mothers and aunts, are passionate about shopping. Why that is, however, remains a mystery to this day.
Dragged along by Lin Guo’er, Lin Kuang had no choice but to follow her into the top-tier shopping paradise.
Once they were inside, Lin Guo’er became a completely different person. She bounced from store to store, seemingly tireless and absolutely overjoyed. Naturally, the number of shopping bags in Lin Kuang’s hands grew steadily.
"I’ll get this one for Shilin; she’ll definitely love it. This one is for Shiyu; she’ll like it too. This one’s for Sister Tong, this for Ruoxi, this for Mu Wan, and this for Yingzi." Lin Guo’er mumbled to herself as she shopped, buying plenty of things for all her sisters.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang felt very pleased. After all, all he ever wanted was to see the women in his life get along harmoniously.
However, Lin Kuang was a bit exasperated. With so many purchases, can she really remember who gets what? In any case, the designated bag-carrier was already getting confused. He had no idea which bag was for whom; his only job was to carry them.
"Come over here! Look, isn’t this dress pretty?" Just then, a very happy Lin Guo’er waved a pale blue dress in front of him.
"It’s beautiful. Really, it’s gorgeous," Lin Kuang said earnestly. In his eyes, Lin Guo’er looked good in anything, but he wanted to sound sincere so she wouldn’t think he was just humoring her.
"Hehe, I think so too! I’m going to try it on. Wait for me here," Lin Guo’er said joyfully.
Hearing this, Lin Kuang nodded with a smile. "Go on, I’ll wait."
Lin Guo’er agreed and followed a sales associate into the dressing room.
About two or three minutes later, Lin Guo’er emerged from the dressing room wearing the pale blue dress. Lin Kuang’s eyes immediately lit up. She looked truly beautiful in it. The dress, reminiscent of blue skies and white clouds, made her look like an ethereal Fairy—lofty and untouchable.
As this thought crossed his mind, Lin Kuang was about to speak. But before he could get a word out, someone behind him spoke first.
"So beautiful. My dear lady, you are without a doubt the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. You look like a Fairy, truly stunning." As he spoke, an American man who looked to be in his twenties stepped forward, his eyes glued to Lin Guo’er. He was completely captivated, and Lin Kuang was starting to get annoyed.
