"Lin Kuang, you’re a dead man!" John said furiously. "Remember this. As long as you’re in New York, you can’t escape. New York will be your grave. You will die for sure!"

"Is that so? I hope you can," Lin Kuang said with a smile. "Everyone who’s said that to me before is already dead. But since you’re so confident, take your time looking for me. Let’s see if you can find me."

He then hung up and tossed the phone onto the car seat.

"Guo’er, let’s go," Lin Kuang said with a smile, wrapping his arm around Lin Guo’er’s slim waist.

"Oh, where are we going?" Lin Guo’er couldn’t help but ask.

"Let’s find a hotel to stay in first," Lin Kuang said after a moment of thought.

Hearing this, Lin Guo’er nodded, and the two took a taxi to a hotel. After checking in, they went up to their room.

Lin Kuang was well aware that since the Fan Family planned to kill him in New York, they would eventually find him here. However, he didn’t care. This affair had to be settled sooner or later, and he couldn’t let it drag on forever.

"Guo’er, I’m going to have someone take you away from here soon," Lin Kuang said with a smile, holding her as they sat on the sofa. "It’s too dangerous. Once everything is over, I’ll bring you back, okay?"

Lin Guo’er was stunned. "Leave here?"

"Yes, leave here and go to a secluded place. Someone will protect you, and no one will be able to find you there," Lin Kuang said earnestly, looking into her beautiful eyes.

"What about you?" she asked quickly.

"Me? I need to stay here for a while," Lin Kuang said with a smile. "Let’s just say that once this is all resolved, I’ll come and find you."

Hearing this, Lin Guo’er was about to say something but held her tongue. Finally, she said, "Okay, I promise. But you have to promise me that you’ll be safe." She looked at Lin Kuang, her expression completely serious.

He nodded emphatically. "Don’t worry, I promise I’ll be fine. Just wait for me, okay?"

"Yes, I will," Lin Guo’er replied, her voice heavy with emotion.

In truth, she knew full well that staying here wouldn’t help him. On the contrary, she would only be a burden. Though she was reluctant to leave his side, this wasn’t the time to be emotional.

Seeing that she had agreed, Lin Kuang breathed a sigh of relief. In a battle of that magnitude, he wouldn’t have the spare capacity to protect her, especially since his opponents had experts at the Three Flowers Gathering at the Top level.

With this in mind, Lin Kuang dialed Zhang Tianshun’s number, told him his location, and asked him to pick up Lin Guo’er. He also asked him to bring some firearms and ammunition. Zhang Tianshun naturally agreed.

In less than twenty minutes, Zhang Tianshun arrived at Lin Kuang’s room with his men.

"Mr. Lin, hello. I’m Zhang Tianshun," he said, introducing himself as soon as Lin Kuang opened the door.

Lin Kuang nodded with a smile. "Hello, Mr. Zhang. This is Lin Guo’er, my woman. For the time being, I’m entrusting her to your protection. Any problem with that?"

"Rest assured, Mr. Lin," Zhang Tianshun said with the utmost solemnity. "As long as Miss Lin is in the Wumi Building, I guarantee nothing will happen to her."

"However, Mr. Lin, aren’t you coming with us?" Zhang Tianshun asked with some concern. "You know, those people are very dangerous."

"Don’t worry. I’ll deal with them myself. If things get out of hand, I’ll contact you," Lin Kuang said with a smile. "Did you bring what I asked for?"

"Yes, it’s all here," Zhang Tianshun replied, then gave a nod to the men behind him.

The two men carrying briefcases opened them, revealing the guns and ammunition inside. Seeing the hardware, Lin Kuang nodded in satisfaction. "Very good, this is more than enough. I’m leaving my woman in your care."

"Of course, Mr. Lin," Zhang Tianshun said again.

"Guo’er, you go with Mr. Zhang for now," Lin Kuang said, smiling at her worried face. "I’ll come and find you once I’ve dealt with things here."

"Okay, but you have to come find me!" she couldn’t help but say.

"Don’t worry, I definitely will," Lin Kuang said emphatically.

Hearing this, Lin Guo’er finally nodded and, with red-rimmed eyes, left with Zhang Tianshun and his men.

Watching her leave, Lin Kuang breathed a sigh of relief. With no one holding him back, he could finally unleash his full power.

"Members of the Fan Family... good. Come and get me," Lin Kuang said, his tone cold as he looked at the arsenal before him. "I’ll be waiting for you right here. For every one you send, I’ll kill one! Tonight is destined to be a night of slaughter!"

These firearms wouldn’t cause much harm to a Skyline expert, since they were fast enough to dodge bullets. As for masters of the Three Flowers Gathering at the Top, bullets were practically useless. Of course, it all depended on who was using them. If Lin Kuang was the one pulling the trigger, even a Skyline expert would have reason to be terrified.

With that thought, Lin Kuang began to equip himself with the guns and grenades.

Once he was all set, he ordered a lavish dinner from room service and began to eat alone, looking completely at ease, as if he hadn’t a care in the world.

Meanwhile, John, the Fan Family’s man in charge of New York, issued an order: a city-wide manhunt for Lin Kuang. He was to be killed on sight. At his command, the Fan Family’s forces mobilized and began searching for Lin Kuang’s whereabouts.

However, what the Fan Family never expected was that Lin Kuang was brazenly staying in a hotel. They hadn’t even bothered searching the hotels, never imagining he would be so audacious. This oversight cost them a great deal of time, and it was only much later that they finally began to search the city’s hotels.

Lin Kuang, on the other hand, was getting frustrated. It was nearly midnight, and the Fan Family still hadn’t shown up. He was so bored waiting that he was about to fall asleep, which thoroughly annoyed him.

Are these people idiots? Their efficiency is pathetic. To not be able to find me on their own turf after all this time... what a disappointment! At this rate, I might as well have the Wumi Building leak my location. Otherwise, who knows how long it’ll take John’s incompetent fools to find me?

If John knew what Lin Kuang was thinking, he probably would have died from sheer rage. In fact, even now, John was on the verge of exploding. After searching for so long without a single trace of Lin Kuang, the situation was absolutely infuriating.

"Mr. John, we’ve found him!" a subordinate’s voice suddenly crackled over the line. "Lin Kuang is at the Karen Hotel."

For John, this news was undoubtedly the sweetest sound he had ever heard.
