Chapter 276: A Little Demonic Contact

Damian quickly raised both hands. "Calm down first, Master."

Selvara’s eyes remained cold. "Speak carefully."

Damian swallowed once before continuing, "I’m not saying we should become demonic cultivators or start helping them do evil shit."

Violetta quietly watched him from the side.

Damian leaned forward, his expression turning serious. "What I mean is that Nolan is basically playing the role of some chosen one right now."

Selvara frowned slightly.

Damian continued, "He has talent, status, Sect Master Arven’s protection, and now a King Grade sword with a matching King Grade sword scripture."

His fingers tapped slowly against the table. "Even with all the dirty shit from his past being exposed, people can still twist the story in his favor."

Violetta’s gaze lowered faintly.

Damian’s voice became colder. "If Nolan starts going around destroying demonic factions and other evil groups, the righteous side will eventually start praising him as some heroic genius again."

Selvara’s expression shifted slightly.

Damian continued, "They’ll say he made mistakes when he was young."

He gave a disgusted laugh. "Or that he finally realized his wrongdoings and redeemed himself."

His mouth curled with obvious contempt. "Basically, that bastard can wash his reputation clean with enough blood."

The room fell silent.

Violetta’s fingers tightened slightly against her robes.

Damian looked directly toward Selvara. "That also means Nolan has just made himself a thorn in the demonic side’s eye."

Selvara’s gaze became thoughtful.

After several breaths, she slowly understood what Damian was suggesting. "So you want to use that."

Damian nodded without hesitation. "Exactly."

Violetta hesitated before asking softly, "Master... are you saying we should cooperate with demonic cultivators?"

Damian glanced toward her. "Yes."

Violetta’s eyes widened slightly.

Damian quickly added, "Only regarding Nolan."

He raised one finger. "I’m not saying we suddenly become best friends with them, help them massacre innocent people, or join some fucking demonic sect."

He shook his head. "If our interests happen to overlap when it comes to Nolan, then there’s no reason not to make use of that."

Violetta considered his words for several breaths before slowly nodding. "I understand."

Selvara’s eyes remained fixed on Damian. "So you want me to contact them?"

Damian immediately shook his head. "No need."

Selvara raised an eyebrow.

Damian casually continued, "I have my own connection."

This time, both Selvara and Violetta looked genuinely surprised.

Violetta blinked.

Selvara’s eyes narrowed. "You have connections with demonic cultivators?"

Damian suddenly found the ceiling very interesting. "...A little."

Selvara stared at him.

Damian cleared his throat and immediately continued before she could start questioning exactly what kind of life her disciple had been living behind her back. "More importantly, Master, I’ll handle that side myself."

Selvara’s expression hardened. "You?"

Damian nodded. "You can’t move."

Selvara stared at him coldly.

Damian quickly explained, "You’re basically the biggest reason Nolan doesn’t dare fuck with me openly inside the sect."

His eyes sharpened. "If you suddenly disappear or start openly dealing with demonic factions, Arven and Nolan will immediately become suspicious."

Selvara remained silent.

Damian continued, "More importantly, you need to stay here and keep an eye on Nolan."

His voice became noticeably firmer. "Especially because of Vulkara."

Selvara’s gaze shifted slightly. "Vulkara?"

Damian nodded. "She’s still training right now, and everyone already knows she’s connected to me."

He tapped one finger against the table. "If Nolan realizes he can’t touch me directly, there’s always a chance that bastard will start looking for another weakness."

Violetta’s expression immediately became colder.

Damian continued, "And Vulkara is exactly the kind of idiot who would punch Nolan in the face if he deliberately provoked her."

Selvara remained silent for a moment.

That description was unfortunately far too accurate.

Damian then turned toward Violetta. "As for you..."

Violetta looked back at him. "I think you should return to the Heavenly Palace for now."

Violetta’s expression finally broke. "Return?"

Damian nodded slowly. "Train there for a while."

Violetta stared at him.

Damian did not avoid her gaze. "To be completely honest, Violetta..."

His voice became blunt. "You can’t beat Nolan right now."

The words landed heavily.

Violetta’s eyes lowered slightly.

There was no mockery in Damian’s tone, though. Only seriousness.

Damian softened his voice. "Your talent is fucking ridiculous."

He knew that better than anyone. "But Nolan is still too strong right now, and after destroying the [Night Fragrance Pavilion], he’s probably going to become even more famous."

Damian leaned back slightly. "Killing him directly while everyone’s attention is on him won’t be easy."

Violetta remained silent.

Damian’s chest tightened faintly.

The real reason he wanted her away from Nolan was something he could never properly explain.

That system movie was still painfully clear inside his mind.

Violetta lay broken on the ground, burning away her own life force to unleash a forbidden art that would essentially kill every man in the entire region.

Damian’s fingers slowly tightened beneath the table.

"There’s no fucking way I’m letting that happen."

His gaze became firm. "So it’s better if you grow stronger somewhere safer first."

Violetta quietly studied his face, but before she could answer, however...

"Absolutely not."

Damian froze and slowly turned toward Selvara.

Her face had darkened again.

Damian gave an awkward grin. "Master... at least hear me out first."

"No." Her answer came instantly.

Damian’s mouth twitched. "Damn."

He rubbed the side of his face. "That was faster than expected."

Selvara remained completely unmoved.

Damian stared at her for several breaths.

This time, he did not immediately make another joke. Instead, his expression became serious again. "Alright, Master."

He leaned forward. "Then what do you think we’re supposed to do?"

Selvara answered without hesitation. "I’ll handle it."

Damian frowned. "You and Violetta stay out of this."

Selvara’s voice remained cold and decisive. "I’ll deal with Nolan myself."

Damian immediately leaned forward. "Master, just listen to me first. I already told you that you can’t move carelessly right now."

Selvara’s gaze sharpened. "Damian."

Damian swallowed.

He knew exactly how dangerous his next words were going to be.

Unfortunately, diplomacy had apparently fucking failed, so he gritted his teeth and blurted out, "Master... I’m sorry, but right now, you’re fucking all brawn and no brain."

The room became deathly silent.

Violetta’s eyes widened.

Selvara stared at Damian as terrifying pressure slowly gathered around her.

Damian nearly regretted every decision that had led him here, but he stubbornly refused to look away.

"Fuck it. Someone has to say it."

Several long breaths passed.

Eventually, Selvara closed her eyes and forced the pressure back down.

When she opened them again, irritation was still obvious on her face. "Fine."

Damian blinked.

Selvara crossed her arms. "I’ll listen."

Damian immediately released the breath he had been holding.

"Holy shit... I survived."
