Chapter 567 – Maparapara’s trial – Part 8.
None of them moved.
They were standing right in front of each other, equipped with their weapons and ready to fight.
But even so, neither side moved.

"[Lava Weapon: Crossbow]!" – and while he was holding back the two spiked shields, the polearm that the creature was using ended up being completely shattered, before then being replaced by a crossbow, alarming Maparapara as she instantly realized the danger and had her extended arms try to return to their original state.
But at the same time, the crossbow opened up, growing in size, before then shooting at Maparapara, unleashing a crossbow bolt that instantly traversed the battlefield, striking Maparapara just as her arms restored themselves.
(FUCK!) – thought Maparapara as she quickly used her shields while the crossbow restored itself to its original state and the warrior unleashed a hail of lava bolts from his weapon, which this time were blocked.
"[Lava Weapon: Bow]!" – but he wasn’t done, he transformed his two weapons into a massive long bow, which in the next moment opened up and grew in size once again.
(AGAIN?!) – thought Maparapara.
(Does that guy gimmick is ability to change weapons at will?!)

(Huh... I think there was another person like there.) – thought Maparapara.
(Oh yeah! That goblin that can make weapons with gold had the same-)
The warrior manifested an arrow of purple fire before then firing it into the skies, alarming Maparapara as she saw the arrow climbing high into the air, before then blowing up and unleashing a rain of countless arrows that poured down on the slime, forcing her to block off the attack with her shields that are enchanted with the skills.
However, while the slime was focused on dealing with rain of projectiles, the warrior aimed with his bow at the woman.
"OH, THAT AIN’T FAIR!" – shouted Maparapara as the warrior let the arrow lose, firing at the slime.

The arrow struck Maparapara as she used her defensive skill, blocking the attack somewhat as it attempted to pierce right through her chest.

(She blocked it?) – thought warrior as without mercy had fired one more shot, which ended up landing on the slime.

(FUCK! HOW LONG DOES THAT RAIN WILL LAST?! AND HOW THE HELL EACH SHOT HURTS SO MUCH!?) – thought pissed off Maparapara as she was struck again with an arrow right in the chest.
The warrior tried firing off once again, but in that moment, the arrow rain stopped, allowing Maparapara to instantly swung down her shields, straight up smashing them against the ground and putting up defensive wall, resulting in the incoming arrow getting smashed into pieces as it clashed against the shield.
"..." – the warrior stopped firing his arrows while Maparapara [Emergency Block] has ended.
(Hm... She is indeed problematic foe.) – thought warrior as he was aiming with his weapon at the slime who was not moving.
(Attacking her from afar is the best way to stop her counter attacks, but her defense is just too high.) – thought warrior as he fired off several arrows while rapidly moving around... However, none of his attacks were able to pierce through Maparapara defense as she was even able to her blood magic to unleash some long attacks, trying to retaliate.
Some of her attacks hit... But the warrior’s endurance was no joke either.
(He is looking for my weak spot.) – thought Maparapara.
(Honestly, this is annoying.)
(He doesn’t have that annoying in the ass 100% increase in damage dealt, meaning his attacks are far more manageable than duel.) – thought the slime as the warrior sped up and started unleashing large number of arrows, which were noticeable weaker than the arrows he shot before, however, it will make it much harder for Maparapara to defend herself against them.
But that strategy didn’t worked.
Maparapara was able to block a large amount of arrows, while her extremely high defense was able to deal with any arrows that got past her shields, making the attempt to overwhelm the slime be pointless as the warrior quickly realized.
(That goblin girl that Phantasia told me about when he was talking about divinity of that Diamond guy... And... What was her name?)

(Anyway, from what I’ve heard, her fighting style revolves around using liquid gold to create herself weapons.) – thought Maparapara as the used [Lava Weapon: Axe], his long bow into a massive two-handed axe, which he used by swinging upwards, unleashing a massive shockwave attack, which the slime took head on and blocked the attack with her own skill.
And right after blocking the attack, the warrior leaped at the slime and swung his weapon, starting off the close combat between the two sides.
(From what I’m seeing here, his fighting style is somewhat like hers? He can freely change his weapons.) – thought Maparapara as the warrior swung his axe, landing a solid strike on the slime, before then getting counter attacked with the spiked shield as it smashed his entire body, resulting in the warrior getting knocked back... But he wasn’t done as he stomped the ground with his foot instantly, stopping himself from getting send flying by using his own brute force, before then he swung his axe at the slime who barely blocked in time the powerful strike.
Maparapara tried countering once again with her spiked shield, but the enemy backed away, being wary of possible counter skill being thrown at it at any moment.
(His gimmick is this.) – thought Maparapara as she raised up her guard once again while the warrior just stood still.
(He can transform his weapons at will by destroying them and reforming them into new weapons.)
(And when he does that, the weapon get some kind of power up, allowing him to unleash use skill attack.)
(But what about the shield and halberd he used at the start? They didn’t get instant power up... Is it like his starting weapons or something like that?)
(Is he trying to bluff me into thinking that he can only change weapons with skills?)
(I shouldn’t let my guard down.) – thought Maparapara as she was the one to this time rush at her foe and attempt to put some pressure on the warrior who started backing away, trying to get some distance.

Warrior destroyed his axe and manifested a one-handed sword which he swung at Maparapara.
But the slime girl reacted as the man was activating his skill, unleashing her defensive skill on her shield, just as the blade was manifested and awoken.

"!?" – and that attack ended up pushing the massive slime extremely far away, surprising the Maparapara who did not expected at all for the warrior to unleash that kind of knockback effect, which was able to push HER away.
"Good... VERY GOOD!" – shouted warrior as he was now duel wielding two blades.
"SHOW ME YOUR WORTH!"

"SHOW ME THAT YOU DESERVE OUR LORDS GIFT!"
