If every time she meets up with Bella she has to see Damian too, then she’s a bit reluctant to go.
Bella Acker sighed helplessly, the door to the private room opened again, and this time Archer Quinn returned, carrying the faint scent of tobacco.
"Senior Quinn, you’ve learned to smoke?" Bella Acker asked.
"Yeah, I had to learn for a role before." Archer Quinn said, "Where did everyone go?"
"They all left. Shannon and Finn went outside to check the car. We might as well leave too." Bella Acker said, "I promised to take Talia and Ethan with me to accompany my godmother to the countryside for a spin tomorrow morning, so I have to get up early."
"Alright, let’s call it a night then." Archer Quinn said, "I’ll settle the bill, you head outside and find Shannon and the others."
"I’ll settle the bill." Bella Acker picked up her small bag nearby.
"I promised I’d treat you to welcome you back, how can I let you pay? Wait for me outside the front door." Archer Quinn smiled, opened his arms and hugged her, softly saying, "Bella, welcome back."
Bella Acker gently returned the hug briefly, then let go, "Thank you."
This hug was purely friendly, with no other emotions involved.
"Let’s go." The two left the private room together, Archer Quinn headed to the counter to settle the bill, and Bella Acker went out to find Sandra Woods and Julian Jennings who were checking the car.
As soon as she stepped out the door, she saw the two of them, wearing baseball caps and masks, squatting by the steps, and couldn’t help but laugh, "Are you two out here to watch stars and count the moon?"
Sandra Woods jumped up at her voice, whispering, "Bella, isn’t Mr. Sinclair that boyfriend you used to date?"
"Look at you being all smart, you guessed it immediately." Bella Acker nodded with a smile.
"Oh my!" Sandra Woods exclaimed in surprise, feeling one exclamation wasn’t enough, she added another with emphasis, "Oh my!"
Julian Jennings frowned, "Don’t use foul language."
"Which ear of yours heard me swear? I was clearly exclaiming! Exclaiming!" Sandra Woods jumped up and grabbed Bella Acker’s face, giving it a vigorous rub twice, "Bella Acker, you’ve hidden it well, I’ve only just found out!"
Bella Acker sighed, "I didn’t deliberately hide it, I simply didn’t announce it with fanfare. But fortunately it was kept low-key back then, otherwise it’d be embarrassing now."
"So, what’s the situation between you two now?" Sandra Woods asked, "I see Damian Sinclair deliberately provoking you. If there’s nothing going on, why would he act so irrational?"
"I don’t know what he’s thinking." Bella Acker lowered her gaze, "But he seems to have a girlfriend already, so no matter what he’s thinking, it has nothing to do with me anymore. Let’s not talk about this. What’s your plan for next?"
"How about we go sing karaoke together?" Sandra Woods suggested.
"I’m not going." Bella Acker shook her head, "I didn’t sleep well on the plane, I want to go back and rest early. I’m back now, anytime we have free time we can gather together."
Sandra Woods noticed the fatigue between Bella Acker’s brows and nodded, "Alright, then we’ll see you home first."
"No need, I’ll just grab a cab. What about you? Didn’t you say you’d sleep at my place?"
"Cough!" Sandra Woods coughed, glancing away, "I have to rush to an assignment early tomorrow, I’ll head back instead."
"Oh... an assignment, huh?" Bella Acker deliberately dragged her tone, teasingly looking at Sandra Woods, then at Julian Jennings standing next to her.
