Every year, there are only a handful of Best Actress awards, and all those famous but unawarded leading ladies in the circle are eyeing them.

Rhonda’s remark was undoubtedly intended to push Bella Acker, this ’newcomer’ who had just returned to the country, into the limelight.

Perhaps tomorrow’s entertainment headlines will report that the new actress is overestimating herself, arrogantly claiming she’ll easily win an award.

Or for dramatic effect, those reporters might add some popular stars’ names, saying she’s bragging that her acting skills surpass theirs.

Even though everyone in this circle knows such news might not be true.

But wouldn’t anyone feel a bit uncomfortable seeing it?

After years apart, Rhonda is still not an easy woman to deal with.

Bella Acker smiled slightly, "Rhonda, you’re being too modest. If it were me, I’m afraid I wouldn’t even qualify to enter the awards ceremony."

"Sister Acker, you’re the truly modest one." Rhonda’s smile remained unchanged, "Sister Acker, when did you come back? How come you didn’t give me a call so we could get together? Speaking of which, the other day I saw the Weibo posts from Brother Quinn and Shannon, and that’s how I found out you were back. Sister Acker, do you not consider me a good sister anymore?"

As she spoke, Rhonda deliberately put on a somewhat hurt expression.

"How could it be? Back when we were filming ’Brocade River and Mountain’, among those of similar age, we had the best relationship." Bella Acker lied without blushing, smiling slightly, "I just recently returned and have been a bit busy, so I haven’t had the chance to get in touch."

"Wait a moment." Bella Acker took a cold drink from the table behind her and smiled, "They just bought it, it’s still cold. You’ve been sweating on your way here, have some to cool down."

"Thanks, Sister Acker." Rhonda took the drink with a smile, "I’m off to do my makeup first then."

The two parted ways with smiles all over their faces. On her way, Rhonda greeted staff and other actors with the drink in hand, but as soon as she entered her private makeup room, she immediately turned and handed the drink to her assistant, "Dispose of this."

"Rhonda, does Bella Acker have some sort of background? How come she got the female lead role as soon as she came back?" The young assistant asked in confusion.

"Who doesn’t have a bit of background to make a name for themselves in this circle?" Rhonda sat down in the chair, sneering, "However, Bella Acker’s change surprises me. Back when she got the Hera role and parachuted into the ’Brocade River and Mountain’ crew, she wasn’t like this."

"Did she get plastic surgery? I feel like Bella Acker looks a bit more beautiful than before."

"It’s not plastic surgery; it’s that her entire demeanor has changed." Rhonda coldly laughed again, "It’s getting a bit interesting."
