"Bella, you really are the most heartless woman I’ve ever seen, bar none."

Aiden Hayes sighed, finally putting away his flirtatious demeanor, and continued, "My dad thinks the domestic entertainment industry market is huge, so he sent me here to check it out. If it’s suitable, he plans to set up a branch company."

"So that’s how it is." Bella Acker nodded, "If there’s anything I can help with, just let me know."

"There is." Aiden Hayes immediately said, "Bella, I’ve been keeping myself pure and waiting for you for so long, shouldn’t you reward me?"

"Alright." Bella Acker agreed readily.

Aiden Hayes stood up at once, "Bella, I knew, one day you’d be moved by my sincerity." As he spoke, he leaned in, trying to kiss her.

Bella Acker pressed her finger to his forehead, her face expressionless, "You’re overthinking it. I can treat you to a meal, as a way to reward you."

Turns out it’s not the kind of reward he imagined, disappointing!

Aiden Hayes pouted, "Bella, you’re so heartless, so cold, so unreasonable."

Bella Acker’s temple throbbed twice, "Do you want to eat or not?"

"I do." Aiden Hayes sighed, holding his forehead, "I’m just this kind of person. My body says no but my mouth is hypocritical."

"If you keep messing around, I really won’t treat you to a meal." Bella Acker was speechless.

"Alright, let’s go at noon then." Aiden Hayes said, "Even business class meals on flights haven’t improved much; I’m already starving."

"You came straight after getting off the plane?" Bella Acker was a bit surprised.

"Yeah. Because I’m longing so much, eager to see someone. But sadly, someone’s heart is as hard as iron; not only is she not moved at all upon seeing me, but she also despises me." Aiden Hayes said, his expression completely like he’s the most affectionate and pitiful person in the world.

"I’m moved." Bella Acker laughed, "If I weren’t moved, how could I treat you to a meal? You know I’m quite broke now and don’t easily treat others to meals."

"Alright, I finally feel a bit comforted." Aiden Hayes smiled, "Where are we going for lunch? And what about Talia? Bring her along."

"Talia went to accompany Ethan at his violin lesson early this morning, so you’ll have to wait until Ethan’s out of school if you want to see her." Bella Acker took out her phone and checked the time, "Come on, let’s have lunch. Anything you feel like eating?"

"This is my mother’s hometown; she often talked about hot pot. How about we have hot pot for lunch?"

"Are you sure?" Bella Acker gave him a sidelong glance, "Hot pot does have a non-spicy broth, but a real experience comes with the spicy broth. Can you handle that?"

"One must dare to try everything." Aiden Hayes was very determined.

"Hope you won’t cry tomorrow." A mischievous smile flashed quickly in Bella Acker’s eyes, "Since it’s decided, I’ll go ahead and make a reservation. You don’t mind if I invite one or two more people, right?"

"As long as they’re beauties, the more the merrier."

"There really is a beauty, but I don’t know if she’ll go." Bella Acker said, "If you two hit it off, it could help you understand the entertainment industry here better."

"What are you waiting for, make the call quickly." Aiden Hayes was interested.

Bella Acker rolled her eyes at him, first booking online at a highly-rated hot pot restaurant, then went out of the reception room to knock on Cynthia Young’s office door.

The office still echoed with Cynthia Young’s professional voice, "Come in."

Bella Acker gripped the doorknob, casting a warning look at Aiden Hayes following behind her.
