What Do You Mean I Have To Comprehend Dao As A Mortal God?

Chapter 216: Three Mortal Gods Walk Into A Valley

I see why we might find a challenge now...

I looked down into the valley below where the entire place was filled with those goblin Anomalies.

There were at least several thousands of them and all of them were packed inside the valley, all of them making groaning sounds and shuffling like zombies without a purpose.

Diana grinned, "What do you think? Plenty challenge enough?"

"I’m surprised there’s so many of them here... I thought this rift would have been cleared," I muttered.

"Oh it has. For some reason, these things always get filled up by Anomalies after a day has passed and no one is looking at it."

I turned to raise an eyebrow at her, "What do you mean?"

"This is the next special thing about this place. For some reason, this particular valley will always fill up with this many Anomalies after a day passes and nobody is looking at the valley. We believe it’s something like a distortion of reality that is causing this to happen but no one really knows why."

"How does that work?"

Siti gestured towards the Anomalies, "If we kill them all, all their corpses will disappear and the valley will be filled with Anomalies again the following day."

I raised an eyebrow, "So... More will take their place?"

"No, no. Like literally they will just spring up out of nowhere. Like they never died, if you get my meaning," Diana explained.

"What about corpses that were pulled out of the valley?" I asked.

Siti chuckled, "We thought of that too. The corpses also vanish instantly to reappear inside this valley. And yes, we tried setting up a camera and it did prevent the spawning. But the moment nothing is looking at that space, they all return instantly.

Ok... That doesn’t sound concerning at all...

"Don’t they try to swarm the portal or something?"

"Nope, they are just stuck here."

Right. So there’s a giant valley that’s filled with several tens of thousands of Anomalies that’s just stuck there and are unable to leave said valley which would also respawn them after a day when they are killed.

Are we dealing with some kind of game rule or something? Because this certainly sounds like a game feature to me instead of something you might find in the real world.

You know? Like the monsters that will respawn in a specific area and the respawn won’t kick in if there was a player in that area.

I turned back to look at the Guardians behind us who were already preparing themselves for a fight.

"I suppose we would be jumping in there?"

Diana grinned, "Yep~ Let’s go!!"

Without waiting for either Siti or me, she simply stood up from our squatting position and jumped right into the valley below without a moment’s hesitation.

She had the look of someone having done this a hundred times before and I wouldn’t be surprised if she really did come here over a hundred times to clear them of Anomalies.

I looked at Siti in alarm and she only just gave an exasperated sigh before turning to give me a nod, "See you down there."

She jumped over the edge as well.

I looked back at the Guardians and saw them already running towards us, the Guardians belonging to Siti and Diana understandably upset at their Mortal Goddesses jumping over the edge.

As for mine, they seemed to be expecting me to do it already and were just making their way here so... I just went ahead to jump off as well.

I turned myself and looked down at the valley that was a short drop to reach the bottom.

Even though I said a short drop, it was still a fall that was at least five stories high.

I used Kris’s gravity skill and to slow myself down, giving me a chance to see what the two Mortal Goddesses were up to down there.

At where Siti had landed, a large wheat field had exploded up from the ground and was slowly expanding outwards with her as the epicentre.

It might look harmless until I realised that any Anomaly that was within range of her was turned into wheat, which meant all the wheat stalks around her were Anomalies that were turned into wheat.

To the side, Diana had cratered the ground by smashing into it while surrounded by a ball of water, the ball exploding outwards after maintaining its shape for a second more.

I watched as a tidal wave that was almost as high as the valley’s walls surged in front of her and crashed into the Anomalies to wash them away.

As if on cue, both the wheat field and the wave disappeared at the same time, creating a space between the two Mortal Gods and the Anomalies.

Both of them then looked up at me with a glint in their eyes and I realised that this was them showing off what they could do to me and expecting me to do the same for them.

Well... If they insist...

I focused on one of my floating arms and braced myself, charging it with Olivia’s lightning while also coating it with Jia Lian’s arcane energy and also increasing my gravity using Kris’s ability.

I immediately accelerated towards the middle of the Anomalies before I punched the fist down on top of them.

The giant fist smashed into the crowd of Anomalies, creating a shockwave that shook the ground violently and cracked the walls of the valley before lightning exploded from the impact point.

The Anomalies that had been closest to the impact point simply disintegrated from the force of the impact. The others that had been outside of the immediate area were sent flying back to smash against one another and into the wall, their bodies also exploding into literal clouds of blood as their flesh disintegrated from the impact.

Those that had been fortunate enough to be outside of the shockwave’s effects got electrocuted by the lightning that struck through their crowd, turning them into ash.

I jumped back and did a flip before landing on my feet softly, using Kris’s gravity manipulation to lower my gravity so that I landed gracefully instead of smashing into the ground.

I looked at my handiwork where the area that I had punched had turned into a flattened ground with blood, dust and body parts scattered around.

The ground had also cracked and parts of the crack had even reached all the way to the edge of where I was standing, the two Mortal Goddesses standing just a few feet behind me.

Hmm... Very different from how Siti and Diana handled themselves I would say... Theirs were elegant and much more divine while mine felt more violent and ’brute forced’.

As long as it got the job done I guess?

I turned back to the two women, "Well... Sorry, I don’t really have some cool looking powers like you two yet since I haven’t really fully awakened."

I then noticed the two of them were just staring at me with a blank look on their faces.

The first to move was Siti who strolled over to me to look at the crater I made with a single punch, stopping at the edge of it even as the remaining Anomalies started shambling forward mindlessly, all of them falling over the edge of the craters to pile at the bottom.

"You... Have not yet fully awakened, Qing?" She asked, using my name since no one else was around us.

"Yeah. Why?"

"Hmm... Did you use your full strength for this?"

I looked back at the crater I made, trying to think back on the size of the last one I created when I fought in that Danger Class four rift.

"Not really. I was a little concerned that I might collapse the valley with both of you in it so I held back a little."

Diana joined us and there was a wide grin on her face. Behind her, I could see that the rest of our Guardians had just descended to the bottom of the valley and were in the process of joining us.

The chestnut brown skinned woman held out her hand behind her and prompted the Guardians to stop in their tracks, all of them giving her a look of confusion.

"Oh... Not your full strength I see... Change of plans everyone... All of you are going to sit there... Us three Mortal Gods are going to go a little serious now. Come on then, let’s see what you got! I want to see your full strength!"

She puffed up her chest and water began to swirl around her, forming itself into a giant figure of what looked like a serpentine monster holding a trident.

Siti joined her as she waved her hands in front of her and the arid ground beneath her started sprouting green coloured grass and flowers of various colours.

Eh? I thought... This was supposed to be a bonding session between the three groups...

Why did it suddenly change into a strength competition between the three of us?
