What Do You Mean I Have To Comprehend Dao As A Mortal God?

I stepped into the portal with the two Mortal Goddesses beside me.

Looking around, it seemed like we were in a forest of sorts. The only difference was that the trees and the leaves were all a rusty brown in colour and the colour extended to everything around us including the sky and ground.

There was a small outpost nearby with a cage made to contain the rift’s Gatekeeper and a turret and several cameras pointed at it to keep watch over it at all times.

I raised my hands and tried waving them in front of me, frowning when I felt something akin to invisible threads being broken when I moved my hand through the air.

Siti noticed my movement immediately and smiled, "You noticed it pretty quickly."

I turned to her, "What is it?"

"We’re not very sure but it’s a special element of this rift. There’s always this feeling of invisible strings pulling at you and you need to keep moving around or else they will entangle you the longer you stay still, making it hard to move."

I raised an eyebrow, "So... If you stay still long enough... You get stuck here forever? Are you sure this is a Danger Class one rift?"

Siti chuckled, "Hehehe~ No, no. Even if you were to stay still for a whole day, the string would still not be able to completely restrain even an average person without enhanced strength. At most, you just need to wiggle a little and the strings will break apart relatively easily."

Hmm... Then I guess that’s why putting a turret and those cameras don’t really matter since it would barely hinder their functions.

Diana waved her hand in front of her, "It’s still annoying though. Hmm? Where’s everyone else?"

The three of us turned behind to look at the portal, right as one of Siti’s Guardians stepped through before the others followed suit.

The Guardian did not seemed amused by us as she went over to Siti.

"Goddess... We talked about this... Please stop running into the portal on your own. We should be the ones to step through it first."

Siti reached up and patted the Guardian’s head and cooed like she was talking to a younger sibling, "Awww~ There, there~ See? Big sis is fine~ There’s no need to worry about at all~ I have your other big sister and big brother here with big sis after all~"

Err... I’m pretty sure that Guardian was not her actual sister so I guess it’s just a case of how Siti treats her Guardian.

But I guess I’m a big brother now? Oh wait, I’ve always been a big brother. Nevermind.

The Guardian whom Siti was patting pouted up at her but didn’t try to pull away from her hand. She was even leaning into it like she enjoyed it and I could tell from that that Siti basically does this often to her.

The other Guardians also filtered through and at this point, I was wondering what we could even do here because... Well... If I had to put it this way, I’m pretty sure our group is overpowered as hell right now.

I think even if we were to go to a Danger Class Four rift... We would probably be able to curbstomp it pretty easily. And yet here we are at a Danger Class One rift instead so...

What do we even do? What even are the Anomalies here?

As if to answer my question, a single Anomaly stepped out from the foliage, looking like some mutated form of a goblin where its body had its internal organs rearranged and some kind of creature had grown out of its neck and pushed its shrivelled up head aside to hang limply beside it.

In fact... I think that’s how this creature was turned into an Anomaly...

The Anomaly spotted us and let out a soft growl before it started shambling its way towards us... In a very slow manner...

Like... So slow that you could just walk away from it and it will never catch up.

I didn’t even get to comment anything about it before I felt wind blow past me which was then followed by a loud ’Bang’ sound.

I watched as a bolt of lightning, a torrent of water, a spear of shadow, a metal ball, a bullet and a wooden spear all flew towards the goblin Anomaly.

The Anomaly practically got erased from existence before it even realised that it was about to be erased from existence.

Yeah... This was what I thought might happen...

I looked at the other two Mortal Goddesses who were staring at the spot that the goblin Anomaly got erased from existence before they shifted to look at me.

"What?" I asked, wondering if they were really expecting some other result when they brought our entire group out here to a low Danger Class rift.

"You have really overprotective Guardians," Diana pointed out.

I sucked in a breath and gestured to the spot that the Anomaly had previously occupied, "Don’t act like your own Guardians didn’t do the same thing that mine did. Also, what’s wrong with them being overprotective? I like them like that."

I heard a sharp intake of breath coming from behind and as much as I wanted to turn around to see what happened, I felt that would make me look silly in front of Siti and Diana so I chose not to.

Siti smiled at me, "I see. That’s really cute."

I’m not even sure if she was saying that my preference of them being overprotective was cute or the fact that my Guardians were overprotective were cute and I didn’t think I wanted to know the answer.

I nodded at them, "So... I know we’re just bored and here to kill time but..."

Diana wagged her finger at me, "Ah ah, don’t say that. We’re not just bored, we’re here to deepen relations between the three Mortal Gods and the Guardians of the South Asian Conglomerate! This is very different from just being bored!"

Right, right... Whatever that makes you happy I guess but that wasn’t my point.

I gestured around, breaking through more of that string feeling that was beginning to wrap around my body, "I’m just thinking that this place wouldn’t provide enough of a challenge for us even if we’re here, you know?"

Siti giggled, "Oh don’t worry. There’s one reason why this rift is still being kept open even though it’s filled with easy to kill Anomalies like that. Follow us~"

They turned to move but their own Guardians quickly moved in front of them, taking the lead instead and showing me that they most likely have been here before and already knew the exact place that their Mortal Goddesses wanted to go.

My own Guardians came over to surround me and I have a feeling they were doing this not only to protect me from the Anomalies but also the other Guardians and the two Mortal Goddesses.

Olivia leaned over to whisper, "My Lord... I think you are being too trusting of them right now..."

I turned to her, "What do you mean?"

Olivia shifted her gaze to the two groups in front of me before looking back at me, "My Lord... Other Mortal Gods are always looking for ways to increase their influence and power. As such, other Mortal Gods are like rivals to them so if they are getting so close to you, they are definitely trying to gain something from you. They definitely aren’t just doing all of this just to be friendly."

Ah... Well... She’s actually right about that... Just not in the way that she thinks...

Olivia probably thought they’re taking advantage of me by making me indebted to them or something so they can always have some control over me or... Maybe they were even trying to claim dominance over me so that their own countries can continue suppressing us.

But in reality... These two are just really horny and apparently I’m the only one around that can help them with that so they’re taking advantage of me through that department.

And considering the fact that it also felt good for me and it also looked like I grow much stronger proportionately when I sleep with them as compared to when I just absorb Qi through meditation normally... I would say I’m the one taking advantage of them instead.

Obviously, I wasn’t going to tell anyone else that and looking at the Guardians at Siti’s and Diana’s sides, I think they would try to kill me if they knew I was banging their Mistress slash Goddess.

That’s why I just simply shrugged my shoulders at her warning and nodded, "Don’t worry, I’ll keep an eye on them. For now, they at least seem genuine so... Let’s all just try to get along, ok? It would be better if we work together instead of working against each other."

Olivia frowned but did not argue and nodded her head, "If that is what my Lord decrees."

Welp... That convinced her at least. Now... Where are we going exactly?
