What Do You Mean I Have To Comprehend Dao As A Mortal God?

I was just staring at my sister and her clones occupying the lobby space and acting as some kind of receptionist.

Maylene, not realising my surprise, continued her spiel, "She showed a lot of enthusiasm for joining us and her ability is really useful. Unfortunately, she’s still studying in university so she’ll only be able to work here part time but we figured that it would be best to sign someone with such an ability with us earlier than letting some other company snatch her up. What do you think, Mortal God?"

I let out a sigh, wondering if my sister actually knows that I am the Mortal God or she still thinks that I am just here as a Guardian.

I decided to find out.

I stepped over towards the lobby, making my presence known to my sister.

All of her clones turned towards me as one, their eyes widening in surprise when they saw me.

This should be the first time she’s seeing my Mortal God persona in person so I wonder how she would react to me here.

I pretended that I didn’t know her and walked in the direction of the elevators while Maylene followed beside me.

I acted like I was occupied with Maylene’s explanation of how they added the underground garage while walking past my sister, making use of the mask to hide the fact that I was peeking at her to gauge her reactions.

She still maintained that wide eye look even as I stepped past her, showing no other reactions aside from that.

Hmm... That’s odd... Could it be that she actually didn’t know that I was the real Mortal God and thinks that I am merely just a Guardian here?

Because honestly, I was expecting her to pounce on me and call me ’Gor Gor’ the moment I got close to her.

Yet despite moving past her within touching distance, she merely stood where she was without moving a single inch.

I went up to the penthouse and dropped off my things.

Dan just so happened to be there when I stepped out from my lift, the guy grinning at me when he saw me.

"Sup bro. Saw your sister earlier. Does she know?"

I shrugged, "I don’t know... That’s what I’m trying to find out now. I thought she figured it out but... She didn’t react like I thought she would when she saw my Mortal God persona..."

"Hmm... Maybe because you’re in public? I dunno. Anyway, that big red woman is asking when you want that rabbit girl to be your Guardian or whatever. Didn’t know you like them small too, bro."

I rolled my eyes, "Shut up. I’m going to see my sister now."

"Sure, sure. Have fun, bro."

Not sure what kind of fun he was referring to when he said that but I ignored it and went over to the elevator to go down to the lobby.

As I stepped out, I found Hui Zhen in the same place where she was still using her clones to do all the work around the lobby.

I stepped out and acted like I was surprised to see her.

"Ah Hui?" I called out to her.

The clones closest to me jumped in surprise at my voice before all of them turned around to look at me, her eyes widening in recognition as I stood there staring at her.

I thought her expression meant that she was shocked that I caught her here and she did not want me to know that she had started working here, only for her face to light up and three of her to pounce on me.

"Wahhhh!! You’re finally back, Gor Gor!! Do you know how long I was waiting here after I heard you were returning today?!"

I managed to stand my ground as three of her hugged me from the front, the one in the middle rubbing her face in my chest unashamedly like she was trying to burrow her way into my chest with her face.

I patted the heads of two of them and acted like I was only learning about this right now, "You... When did you come here?"

All three of her looked up at me with a mischievous grin.

"I applied here and took the interview a few days ago and got accepted!"

"Does mother know about this?"

"Ehehe~ Of course! If she didn’t know, she would kill me if I tried to do this behind her back!"

"And she accepted this? I find it hard to believe..."

"Aiyah!! I tell her it’s just an admin job lah! And I say it’s good pay and also good experience also! So she say ok lor!"

I’m pretty sure it wasn’t as straightforward as what she is claiming here... My sister probably didn’t give our mother the full details and only told her what she needed to hear to approve of this and that’s how she got the green light.

Ah well... I guess it’s also a good thing that she’s somewhere that I can keep an eye on her instead of at another place that I can’t...

Besides... It’s also true that this place does pay well and having a resume stating she worked under the Mortal God would also be something that would look particularly attractive too so she’s definitely not losing out.

I let out a sigh, "You’re serious about this?"

She rolled her eyes and leaned close to me so that her mouth was right beside my ear.

She pulled back and shot me a grin as though giving me time to let that sink in.

I thought I managed to keep my poker face but the fact that her smirk widened showed that I must have showed her something that allowed her to understand that I definitely knew that she knew about me before this.

Satisfied at my reaction, she gestured to the space where I had passed through while wearing my Mortal God disguise earlier, "You know I was hurt when you passed by without saying hi just now, leh. I thought my Gor Gor don’t want me anymore."

I let out another sigh, deciding that there was no point in trying to hide it anymore.

"You ah... Seriously... Do you even know what knowing about this means?"

She stepped back from me and all three of her tilted her head and brought a finger up to her lip cutely.

"Mmm... That my Gor Gor is awesome?"

"You do remember that there are people that are after my life right? If they know that you are my family, they could come after you as well. If you didn’t know that I’m the Mortal God, there won’t be any risk of you accidentally leaking out that information..."

She rolled her eyes at me, "Haiyah, Gor Gor... You think just because you pretend to be just a Guardian I also won’t be targeted meh? Also ah, if you don’t want me to find out you’re the Mortal God, then do a better job hiding it lah. It was so obvious, you know?"

"Mom and Dad doesn’t know..." I pointed out.

"They different lah. They don’t know you like me, please."

I let out the third sigh in this short conversation, "You working here will also be pretty dangerous you know? Not only might there be assassins, there’s also Anomalies as well."

She then gave me a cute look while fluttering her eyelashes at me, "Then when got problem... Gor Gor will come protect me right?"

I should really just take her and toss her inside the sea... But for now, I settled on grabbing her and driving my knuckle against her head, filling the lobby with her screams of pain.
