Chapter 1546: Main sect
Since the mist was stronger, they weren’t actually able to see much of the main part of the Dao Sect ruins.
In fact, it felt like the mist was deliberately hiding the main part of the ruins from them, almost as if they weren’t qualified to see it.
Even though Lin Fan should have been technically qualified because of the token that he possessed. There was a reason why they had gathered all those inheritance tokens in the first place, it was all to upgrade his authority.
"Can you see through it?" Ye Qing Huan asked in the end.
Lin Fan didn’t say anything in response because at this moment, he was trying to see through the mist. He was even using the array flag in his hand to see if there was anything that he could do to control the mist array around them.
After all, that was the whole point of having this array flag.
But it turned out that the mist array of the main sect was completely different.
No matter how Lin Fan tried, he was only able to control the mist in a one meter area around him. It didn’t matter how he tried to push it further than this, there was nothing that he could do as the mist itself completely rejected him.
It was as if there was some kind of incompatibility between him and the mist around him.
Though Lin Fan knew that this was just because he wasn’t strong enough to control it.
So in the end, he slowly shook his head to show that he wasn’t able to do so.
Ye Qing Huan gave a sigh when she saw this before looking around them once more.
If he couldn’t do it, then he couldn’t do it. There really was no point in crying over spilt milk, it was better to see if she could find a way out of this mist array.
"The map." Xiao Mu said all of a sudden.
Lin Fan was surprised to hear this, but he still took out the map that Xiao Mu wanted.
After all, this map did have markings for the main part of the Dao Sect ruins as well.
Since they weren’t able to figure out where they were going with their eyes, the only thing that they could rely on was the map that they had been given.
Xiao Mu was the one that was the best at reading the map since there was the database that it relied on, but even so it seemed like Xiao Mu was having problems finding their position this time.
It really seemed like the mist array was having a large effect on them.
Though looking closely at Xiao Mu, it seemed like there was something different about it as well. It seemed like because its soul had become stronger, it was being affected more by the array.
It was strange to see Xiao Mu like this, but this was just how it was.
Now that Xiao Mu was more like a human, it was only natural that it would be affected by things that it wasn’t affected by previously since that was just part of being human. Though it didn’t seem like Xiao Mu cared that much about being affected by this.
It seemed like Xiao Mu was even enjoying this feeling since it was a new feeling.
Even so, they needed Xiao Mu to guide them to their next destination, so it wasn’t as if they could let Xiao Mu enjoy this feeling forever. This was something that Xiao Mu was also aware of, so it suddenly focused itself once more and started guiding the way forward.
With the map, it really was much easier to find their bearings and arrive at the first pavilion here.
The moment that they arrived, it didn’t feel like there was anything here.
The mist itself was completely hiding the true form of the pavilion from them, so it wasn’t as if they were able to see what this pavilion was for. But as they came closer and closer, it seemed like the mist was disappearing from around them.
It seemed like the mist array had been set up in the general areas of the main sect, but they hadn’t been set up in the pavilions themselves.
Of course, this wasn’t because they didn’t want to protect the pavilions.
"This pressure..."
Lin Fan wasn’t the only one that thought this, it was clear that the other two were feeling the same pressure as him as their expressions changed the moment that pavilion came into view.
In fact, the mist array had even dulled the pressure that was coming from the pavilion.
It was only when they walked out of the mist array that they felt the full pressure that was coming from the pavilion.
"It’s almost as if the array is here to seal these pavilions up..."
Lin Fan couldn’t help thinking about it from a different angle.
Though seeing the board that was hanging at the entrance of the pavilion, it wasn’t as if he found it that hard to believe. After all, this place certainly would be considered a dangerous place.
"Law Enforcement."
This was the pavilion that was in charge of keeping order inside of the Dao Sect and with how powerful the Dao Sect was in the first place, it was only natural that this place would have powerful artifacts and techniques. This was the place where it was needed the most to ensure that they could keep the peace of the Dao Sect.
So the pressure that was coming from inside was most likely from some of the powerful things that were left behind.
Even if they had taken most of the things of the Dao Sect to deal with the disaster that they faced, it wasn’t as if they could bring everything with them. Not to mention that there were things that were stationary and couldn’t be moved in the first place.
Whatever was releasing the pressure from this pavilion was most likely related to that.
The problem now was deciding if they should go in or not.
With the waves of pressure coming from the pavilion, there was no doubt that it would be dangerous for them if they were to explore this place. But since they were already here, it would have felt like a waste if they were to leave all of sudden.
At the same time, it wasn’t as if any of the other pavilions in this place would be any worse than this.
There was a reason that this was the main part of the Dao Sect.
Any pavilion that was located in this place would surely be filled with many treasures from the Dao Sect. There wouldn’t be a single building that would be easy to explore now that they were in the main part of the Dao Sect ruins.
So it wasn’t as if there was much of a choice.
"Let’s go. Before anything else happens, let’s go in and find a place to hide ourselves."
Ye Qing Huan’s words were a bit surprising to Lin Fan and Xiao Mu since they didn’t think that Ye Qing Huan would even think about hiding like this.
Though it wasn’t as if they disagreed with what Ye Qing Huan said.
Compared to the elders that had charged into this place earlier, they were considered much weaker than them. It wasn’t as if it would be good for them if they were discovered by the elders that were already in the main part of the Dao Sect.
It was best for them to find a place to call their base and a place that they could retreat to if anything went wrong.
This was only possible because Lin Fan possessed that token that allowed them into the main part of the Dao Sect in the first place.
If it wasn’t for that, they certainly would have never been able to enter this place at all.
But there was one strange thing that was on the back of their minds when Ye Qing Huan mentioned this.
"Where are the elders?"
Since they had entered the main part of the Dao Sect, they hadn’t found a single trace of the elders.
The last time they were near this place, they had felt the aura from the elders inside of the main part of the Dao Sect. They had sensed that the elders had been exploring and looking for things to take back with them.
Why was it that in just a few days, all of the elders disappeared?
The other strange thing was the fact that they had been able to sense the aura of those elders in the first place. The mist array was supposed to be enough that it suppressed those fluctuations to begin with, so they shouldn’t have sensed anything.
The fact that they did sense something just meant that there was something that had allowed this to happen. Whether it was something wrong with the mist array or it could have been the strength of the elders.
While the disciples were lacking compared to the Dao Sect disciples, those were true elders from the Five Great Sects that could be considered among the top experts of the cultivation continent.
Even if they couldn’t compare to the Dao Sect in its heyday, it wasn’t as if they were that weak.
Which was why it was most likely something to do with the elders themselves.
"But even so, where are the elders right now?" The three of them still couldn’t stop this question from lingering in their minds.
