Chapter 1545: Connecting together
"We’re back here again." Lin Fan said in a heavy voice as he stared at the wall in front of them.
It wasn’t only Lin Fan that was feeling this way, the others also felt this heavy feeling.
After all, this was the wall that surrounded the main part of the Dao Sect.
This was the reason that they had been going around to all of the pavilions and collecting the inheritance from them. After all, they needed those inheritances to open up the gate of this wall and enter the main part of the Dao Sect.
But this was also the most dangerous part of the Dao Sect ruins since it contained the key inheritances of the Dao Sect.
At the same time, the ones that were hiding behind the walls were the true powerhouses of the Five Great Sects.
Those elders were waiting behind this wall, so there was no doubt that it was a very dangerous place for them.
There was a part of them that were wondering if they had been prepared for this, but they knew that they were indeed prepared. After all, there were only a few more spots left in the outer sect for them.
As well, through Xiao Mu’s database, they had an idea of what was waiting in those pavilions. That was why they didn’t feel that there was a need for them to actually go to those places.
In the end, they still decided to move towards the gate of the wall.
As they stood in front of it, they could feel the pressure that was coming from this gate.
Even though it was just a gate, it was still giving off this kind of pressure.
That was more than enough to show just how powerful of an artifact this gate was.
It only made sense that this gate would be a powerful artifact since it was something that guarded the main area of the Dao Sect. If it wasn’t strong, then it wouldn’t have been placed in this position.
After staring at the gate for a bit, Lin Fan pulled out the token and just looked at it. Xiao Mu and Ye Qing Huan also came closer and did the same thing, waiting for some kind of reaction from the token.
The only thing that they knew was that this token would be their way into the main part of the Dao Sect.
As for how it would work, they had no idea at all.
But after standing there and not seeing any reactions from the token for a while, they couldn’t help feeling doubtful. They were wondering if the fairy of the library had actually lied to them.
Then again, it didn’t seem like the fairy had any reason to actually lie to them like that.
So Lin Fan looked closely at the token again.
When he couldn’t see anything special about it, he decided not to waste any time and moved towards the gate. Standing in front of the gate, he raised the token that was in his hand and pressed it up against the gate.
It didn’t seem like there was a reaction at first, but then there was this faint glow that appeared around the token. At the very least, it seemed like the token recognized the gate and had some kind of reaction to it.
But it didn’t seem like the reaction that came from the token was strong enough to influence the gate.
"So there is some truth in what the fairy said, it’s just that it doesn’t seem like it has all the power that it needs." After a pause, Lin Fan couldn’t help asking himself, "Do we have to clear out all of the pavilions then?"
Once he thought it through, Lin Fan didn’t think that this was the case either.
They had already cleared out more than half of the pavilions that were available, so it wasn’t as if the glow would become much stronger if they cleared the rest.
The only thing that might seem possible was that they had to clear a certain pavilion or they were missing something.
It was possible for them to go back and find what they had missed, but it would take some time to come back to this place. Which was why it was better to try and figure out what they had missed first.
Only it wasn’t as if this was something that was easy to figure out.
Staring at the token, Lin Fan was trying to find some kind of clue that would tell him what it was that he missed. But it didn’t seem like there was any kind of clue that could be found from the token itself.
In which case, Lin Fan pulled out another token.
This was the first token that he had received as an inheritance, it was the token that came from the alchemy pavilion.
While holding this, it didn’t seem like there was anything that had changed about this thing. At the same time, it didn’t seem like the token was reacting to anything about this place.
After a moment of thought, Lin Fan brought the token up towards the gate itself.
Once the token approached the gate, there was this sensation that appeared.
Only this sensation didn’t come from the gate, it came from the other token that was in Lin Fan’s other hand.
This sensation wasn’t directed at the gate either, it was directed towards the token that he had just taken out. It was almost as if the first token wanted the second token to be brought over to it.
Lin Fan didn’t know why this was the case, but this was the only clue that had appeared so far. So even if he didn’t know what was about to happen, he still brought the alchemy pavilion token over to touch the first token.
The moment that it did, it seemed like there was something that was transferred between them.
The glow that was around the first token became even stronger and the sensation that wanted the alchemy pavilion token disappeared.
"So it hadn’t received the privilege yet?" Lin Fan slowly came to a conclusion before taking out a bunch of other things.
All of the things that he took out were tokens that showed that he had passed the trials of the pavilions like that alchemy pavilion token.
Without any hesitation, he brought those things over to the token and let them touch. Once they made contact, the same thing happened where the glow of the token became stronger.
It seemed like before this, the authority that had been inside of these other items hadn’t been transferred yet. It was only when they made direct contact with the token like this that they were finally transferred over.
Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu also came forward with their tokens as well, as they prepared to transfer over the authority that they possessed.
But it turned out that it wasn’t necessary.
Lin Fan didn’t even get to finish transferring all of the authority that he had before the gate suddenly opened.
Once the gate opened, the token lost its glow and returned to normal.
However, the three of them didn’t continue forward as they stared at the revealed main part of the Dao Sect that had been revealed to them. After a moment of silence, they still went over to where Lin Fan was with their tokens out.
While they didn’t have any idea what effect doing this would have, they still wanted to pass on the authority inside of their items over to Lin Fan’s token.
It seemed that whatever this authority was, it played a large part in the Dao Sect ruins. As such, there was nothing to lose from giving Lin Fan’s token as much authority as possible.
The same thought was on Lin Fan’s mind as he also did the same thing with the inheritance pieces that he had.
It didn’t seem like anything was happening as they did this, but Lin Fan could feel that there was an attraction from the token. It was similar to the sensation that he felt when the token wanted something from the alchemy pavilion token.
So at the very least, he knew that there was indeed something that was being transferred over to the token.
In the end, everything was transferred smoothly over to the token.
It was a shame that nothing happened when Xiao Mu touched the token since Xiao Mu was also technically the inheritance of one of the pavilions. That meant that Xiao Mu should contain the authority as well.
However, Xiao Mu had also touched the token multiple times already, so if there was anything to transfer, it would have already transferred over.
They were just disappointed since they wanted to see if they could find anything special about this. They wanted Xiao Mu to pay attention to the sensation of transferring the authority to see what it was exactly.
But since Xiao Mu had already transferred it over, there really wasn’t anything for them to observe.
With everything transferred, they put everything away and faced the main part of the Dao Sect.
There was no telling what was in front of them, but this certainly wasn’t the kind of place that they could enter haphazardly. So that was why they all focused on anything that might pop out around them.
But in the end, there was nothing that came out.
The only thing that they felt was the feeling of the mist array that was around them.
That was the one thing that became stronger in this place.
